They seem to be getting more aggressive I think. I don't fish in very deep water in my kayak, but I had one circling me in five feet of water on the last trip, waiting for me to release a fish. We better hope there are no psycho porpoises out there.
The two things I watch closely are tide and wind conditions. I like to fish the pass during the few hours around tidal change, but the water must be moving. There is less current to deal with and you can keep a bait in the fish zones for a longer period. Then, depending on the season, I fish before the wind comes up, or when it is laying. The real danger for a small boat in the pass is other boats, operated by people who have no clue about boating rules and have no respect for other boaters, so I avoid Fridays and weekends.
J, looks like you had a good time. I enjoyed watching 👍
Thanks Robert, it is always good to be on the water. I hope to get out tomorrow, the weather has kept me at home.
I hope you catch’em👍
great video as always Mr. Allred. I had a porpoise take my Spanish of my stringer before in my kayak

haha I hope not I'm always more worried about porpoises than sharks, maybe cause I see them more
Always get my rush watching you hit the water. Thanks for sharing.
looks like fun thanks for the video
Thanks Leo, I have fun even catching the small jacks.
What tackle are you using to catch the jacks?
David, I was using a Penn 4000. Thanks for watching.
Is this where the 4 skin-divers were eaten by a sea serpent?
No, it was four surfers attacked by a rogue manatee. I had a close call with one two weeks ago, th-cam.com/video/NIZ47wf5r2s/w-d-xo.html
Every time I try fishing the pass it's to rough for 16 ft boat. How do you know when it's fishable from small craft?
