Great video Lumerion! I gave my Nikon Coolpix 5900 to my Girlfriend so she could get into photography a while ago, she let me borrow the camera for shooting a gig and man I instantly fell in love with compact digital cameras; I would love to pick up a Ricoh CX camera sometime soon.
Got a Ricoh CX2. May 2024 from Ebay £50.70. Has a flaw on the screen but NO problem with the photos. Then bid a a leather case for £1.00 yes I got it. like the video.
CX4 has longer zoom lens, but build is worse then CX1 Buy whichever is more convienent theyre pretty similar, only going to CX5 with the new focus system do you see faster AF
My problem with the CX series is that they apply way too much noise reduction to the images. I really wish they gave a real option to get rid of NR, especially for BW photos. Additionally, the lack of aperture control makes it difficult to predict snap distances. While smaller sensors have the advantage of being mostly in hyperfocal at 2.5m especially at the aperture offered by the CX series' zoom lenses, it is not too easy to predict.
All the Ricohs CX1 to 5 are roughly similar to each other, barring some cosmetic differences and a few small features. The most noticeable difference is that from the CX5 onwards a Hybrid AF system is used which is faster then the older models.
@@lumeri0n thanks for the reply! I’m thinking if I should get the CX5, the CX4 or the Lumix GF2 and I’ve been researching for the past week and still don’t know which one to get. 😅
I've shot with the Lumix GF2 and honestly, it's not that interesting (touch menu was kinda wonky, and picture quality was not much better then digicams), and although some lenses are small, they don't have the zoom of the digicams unless you buy a long lens which defeats the point of being small. If you want sth like that take a look at the Lumix GM1, it's got a better sensor and same size as compacts.
very helpful video as there's not much review of Ricoh CX1. also, what do you think about it's non-B&W photos? is it good? can it battle with olympus' or fuji colours? i want to buy this camera but just need a little push about it. would you recommend?
About the same, but with the CX5 you can reduce the noise reduction in later processing, which helps keeps some detail in the image (and also noise, but you can fix that in post to your taste)
Hello after your video I started to get interested in Ricoh cx5, but I have a question Is your photos raw from the camera or edited ? Im looking for a camera that gives me the these kind of photos without editing
They are edited to a certain degree (with the black and white pics some were straight from the camera), but features from the cameras such as a quick shooting capability, long zoom and fast AF were what ensured me the shots in the first place. If I only had a phone I most likely wouldn't have gotten similarly-styled shots at all!
Should try out the GX100 and GX200 good 24-72(ish) zoom. Also has the same styling and menus of the grd line
SUBBED!💯🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
This is the video I needed! Thank you.
Great video. I just picked out a CX6 from Buyee. It's in the mail. Can't wait to get it. Thanks mate.
Hey. I got myself one of them too. Thanks for the tip 😊
Great Video ✌️

I like your style. Nice job. 💁🏻♀️
I picked up a CX6 because of this video.

Would you recommend Ricoh for someone that wants to use it so take pictures for lashes on clients or models
I think these Ricoh CX models will work, provided you have sufficient lighting cuz you'll be jamming the camera close to their eyes I guess lol
I could buy a CX1 & CX4 for 39€ each locally…but don‘t know which one to choose 😅
Both are mint

better quality and less bugs/errors is what's important for me :) @@lumeri0n
Hi can you buy and send it for me
where?? which country

From the CX3 onwards you can turn off the noise reduction (or atleast markedly reduce it)
How about the CX4?
All the Ricohs CX1 to 5 are roughly similar to each other, barring some cosmetic differences and a few small features. The most noticeable difference is that from the CX5 onwards a Hybrid AF system is used which is faster then the older models.

GREAT VIDEO REVIEW ON THESE CAMERAS! WHICH ONE DO YOU PREFER?? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND GETTING EITHER?
It's a hard choice. Although it's got a cheaper build, ultimately I would go with the CX5 if only for the faster AF and noise reduction control.
@@lumeri0nTHANK YOU FOR THE REPLY! MUCH APPRECIATED!!!💯💯💯
Hi thanks for your review! I’ve got cx6 here and is it normal that at 0x zoom its kinda blurry? 1.1x zoom is ok.
are the pictures in CX5 better than the ones from CX1?

I think the reason the material of the CX5 feels different is that it's metal and not plastic. Not sure what the CX1 is made of.

What camera were the photos you showed at the beginning of the video taken with? cx1 or cx5?
and has it been edited yet? or did you use the built-in filter on the camera? all the photos are soo amazing😮
A mix of both, jpegs were edited with lightroom and snapseed to varying degrees
