Thanks for the drive. I enjoyed staring at the engine turned board/not brush aluminum.

That car doesn't have the 400 engine. The shaker decal says "6.6 Litre", ( 10:55 ) which indicates the car has the Olds 403, with an automatic transmission, which is what the vast majority of the 79 Trans Ams had. 13:42 shows the automatic shifter. A Pontiac 400 in 1979 only came with a 4 speed. They were phasing out the Pontiac 400, and 1979 was to be the last year for both the Pontiac 400 and the Olds 403. There were only about 8300 Pontiac 400's left for 1979. So, they only sold them with 4 speeds until they ran out. It is true that the Olds 403 had only 185 hp. But still it made good torque with 320 ft/lb rating. The Pontiac 400 for 1979 made 220 hp, and made the same torque as the Olds 403 at 320 ft/lb.

Wrong horse power that’s for a olds 403 Pontiac 400 was underrated at 220 hp

He was wrong when he said this car has the "400 block" at 6:20 . As you said, the Pontiac 400 W72 engine(the only Pontiac 400 used in 1979) was under-rated at 220 hp, but this car doesn't have one. This car actually has the Olds 403, as evidenced by the "6.6 Litre" shaker decal, seen at 10:55, and the automatic transmission shifter seen at 13:42 . So this one does have the 185 hp Olds 403, which was by far the most common engine used in the 1979 Trans Am. As we know, the Pontiac 400 engine would have a "TA 6.6" decal on the shaker, and only came with a 4 speed manual transmission in 1979.
