    I have the wireless speaker and I love, the sound is great and it’s loud for just it being a speaker. At the end of the day don’t really care about the bass and treble it’s a job site speaker not your home surround sound, just want something reliable to use at work

    Just wanted to say thank you for the review, sold me a few months ago on buying before a camping trip, now I use it almost every day. After its broken in has better bass than my Milwaukee Bluetooth jobsite radio and I feel better sound quality. Now my more expensive radio mainly gathers dust at the shop

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mike D, Glad you like the speaker! We found ours has good bass in a smaller room but once outside, it loses all bass. So, it comes down to where you use it to us.

    • @chevboy2
      @chevboy2 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      WorkshopAddict Yep your right on there, along with all the other points in vid. Just comparing speaker to radio itself (in my uses) speaker sounds richer but could be because the extra "passive radiators" the radio does not have. Could always use more bass, would definitely need a bass/treble adjuster on speaker then to keep it down in certain situations. Love the durability and lighter weight (the job-site radio feels like it's filled with lead now haha)
      Keep up the great work! Based many a purchase off your reviews and you touch on specs/tests other reviewers over look.

    Not being able to adjust the sound on this wireless speaker isn't a bad thing at all, its beneficial. The speaker outputs raw sound allowing the user more control of adjustment from the input source. Why do all smartphones have an equalizer feature? For this same reason, for when the user encounters a speaker or terrible encoded music file. We can adjust the equalizer settings to fit our needs, and it can extend or deplete the stated runtime of the speaker battery depending on the equalizer settings from the input source.

  • @antonioescalante5268
    @antonioescalante5268 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can actually choose different equalizer settings in your phone while adjusting volume including custom one, bottom line, can adjust the base.

    I appreciate the fact that you throw stuff around and dunk it in water real good, it really makes a difference because that's reality.One suggestion, I'm thinking a fall out of a moving vehicle is in order, the tailgate down,you got a hundred things on your mind, you take off...oooops radio is kerplunk on the pavement, 20 mph should do it..

    I just bought this radio. Works good. Pretty indestructible, I don't think its loud enough for a 'total job site' radio but it does carry.
    It ain't cheap. While its not too big, for the money, I think I would have been better off buying the job site radio/battery charger.

    FWIW, tonal balance - part of the entity you're describing as a lack of bass - can be largely location-dependent. In practical terms, if you have this component and you feel like the sound is too thin, put it against a wall.

    Did you guys by any chance test the maximum effective Bluetooth range? That is one of my biggest concerns besides sound levels but I set up my current Bluetooth speaker near a wall to offset the lack of volume 👌

    This speaker in the bottom of a rolling tool box with the sliding drawers cracked makes I big difference in bass. My cousin puts his in a 5 gallon bucket, but I haven’t tried that yet.

    One thing it needs is a skip and a play/pause button. I use this everyday at work but it gets annoying having to pull phone out to pause a podcast everytime I need to talk to someone. Also having a skip button would mean I can rewind a podcast if someone distracts me while on the job. I don't want to touch my phone at all so these features would be a great addition. Great device for work and camping. I actually own two. One for home/camping, one for work

    As a contractor, I need bass to hear through the whole house, but as a mechanic, I can appreciate lower bass levels, especially if I'm mobile and outside of a customer's house.... don't wanna be too unprofessional. If definitely has its place

    It is actually practical to save on radio electronics and cost for those who do not need a radio. With technology today, I have a music only player (not a phone) and that has everything I want to listen to. Radio is worthless. Commercials, djs blabbing, music you do not like. What is the point of using radio. However this unit lacks a compartment for your player and should have the input and usb port in the compartment which most other work radios and speakers seem to lack. Other than that, it would be perfect although you say the audio lacks quality as well. Also I would say that this unit lacks an open carry handle bar. Now I use the m12 radio modded with a usb port inside the compartment and it can not be beat by anything. Compact, carried with one hand, sounds great and protects my player and charges the player.

    Nice review, but does it still work? Because dunking it in water is only the first step in the process of testing water resistance. The real test is to see if it still works a week or two later; especially if it is being stored in a warm, enclosed environment such as a jobsite trailer. Corrosion takes a least a little bit of time.

    Mine broke after 2 months of ownership and it fell 2ft. Good thing I had the box and receipt and milwaukee warranted the speaker no questions asked. But I do have some concerns. First it only has a 1 year warranty, minimum warranty on tools like the string trimmer have a 3 year warranty, so that tells me milwaukee is not up to what it claims for the speaker. Second I got my new speaker thru FedEx out of nowhere witch is bad as anything labeled milwaukee is guaranteed to be stolen off your porch if your not home. Good thing I was home but things to watch our for.

    Is it possible to pair this jobsite speaker with the 2792-20 M18 Radio/Charger? I do not have any other Bluetooth devices other than the two items shown in the video. I'd like to play the Jobsite Radio with my iPod Classic (which does not have Bluetooth itself) playing through it on one side of the shop, and have the wireless speaker pick it up on the other side, if possible (range is well within the advertised 100' max).

    how good is the sound quality compared to the bose soundlink mini?

    • @locobrown
      @locobrown 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Porsche Carrera - It doesn't really matter. If you can't adjust the sound due to the lack of an integrated EQ, adjust it from the input source. I have a Bose Soundlink Color 1, it has no integrated EQ, but if you adjust the EQ from, for example your phone, it sounds amazing. I've been a homebrew sound mastering engineer for about 20 years and with a trained ear, a simple 3-band EQ on any radio it will affect the pre adjustment from the input source. For best sound adjusting each music file would be the ideal thing, but only if the person knows how to and the vast majority don't care for musical quality. They just want it to sound loud. In order to make it sound the best to its true potential would be to adjust the EQ at the input source. I'm an audiophile so my choice are both speakers regardless of RMS because it will depend on the environment its going to be used. A raw processing sound speaker like this one, all day because with 40 total watts, there's plenty frequency to work with.

      That is one reason we had the other radio in the video. Many want a phone to be a phone and a radio to be a radio.

      With things today I never understand the need for a radio. You can get a portable player which has all the music you like. No commercials, no songs you don't like, no djs blabbing, no need to have to listen to traffic or news when you do not want to hear it and just want music. So this way you get what you want, and do not hear what you do not want. Does that not make sense? Do you like mindless commercials and cocky DJs who are full of themselves? Not having to hear over exuberant listeners who are going spastic because they won concert tickets, a free t shirt, or a free vacation.

      There are other things to listen to besides music, I never listen to music from radio stations. Sports talk, NPR, comedy stations and live games. Streaming from a phone doesn't allow live games to be streamed in your area sso a tuner is needed. On the air radio keeps my mind happy while working alone on jobsites,lol.
