Just a helpful tip, when you use a circular saw to cut, you could put masking tape over your line (put your marks on top of the tape) and then cut to help keep the board from splintering/chipping out. might save you some time and dealing with putty and additional sanding
Good tip and also, use a "Trim" blade with 96 teeth versus the common 40-60 tooth blades. A bit of a pain to change it out every time but save it just for those delicate jobs - they're not cheap :)

Wow, what an update!! The only thing that I may have changed was to have the new base be the same paint color rather than wood stain, since the stain wasn't exactly the same as the drawers and it would have made the stained drawers really pop. Just a thought haha maybe for another flip.

I have a suggestion that might help on the body filler repairs. I do body work for a living and would be concerned about the possibility of that chunk easily breaking off. What I would try is take a couple of long skinny screws and run them into the wood leaving them hang out in space to build the structure of that corner and then go over that with the filler. Might make a stronger repair overall. Not dissing your repair, just giving you something to ponder.
I think screws would’ve been too thick, someone else suggested thin nails and I think that would’ve been a better idea than mine! I did end up reinforcing if after I finished because I was also concerned it may break if hit too hard 😅

For that corner I would have put 1 or 2 screws that stuck out about a 1/2 inch to use that as a skeleton for the bondo the same way you use rebar for concrete
