The Motocross Action Wrecking Crew takes on the 2024 Hangtown National, round two of the 2024 Pro Motocross series. In This Week in MXA, episode 181, presented by O'Neal, Josh Mosiman switches over from racing the 2024 KTM 350SXF at the Fox Raceway National to the 2024-1/2 KTM 450SXF at Hangtown. Surprisingly, he did considerably better on the 450 at the Hangtown National. This video takes you through the highs and lows of racing Hangtown with rider Josh Mosiman and his mechanic Josh Fout.

I love these videos of racing the nationals. Gives us normal people a look at nationals from a fresh perspective. Makes MXA legit. Keep up the great work!!!!!
You can tell your grandchildren "back in '24 I passed Jett Lawrence" nice job.
Let's gooooo Josh. Shout out from Australia ✌🏻 🇦🇺
Glad you're ok after that get off brotha!
Josh is such a cool dude man he totally deserves this spot on mxa
Yeah I'm a fan
I’ll always cheer for an MXA rider 🤘Still the best magazine out there 👍
Good Job Josh!! Anyone that can qualify for an Ama National is a stud in my eyes!! Godspeed for sure....
That race was fun we had a great time it was a blast
Josh great job! Hope your doing Colorado. Love these videos.
Your contents is always top shelf!!! The MXA wrecking crew and you have got the dream job🔥🏆👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mxa and josh , good job 👏 👍
Such a fun video and way to go Jmo! Baller stuff!
Awesome stuff dudes! Keep it up! We love it!
Great series. Hope you do the whole season
You lads are making some awesome content for us to watch...MXA racing the nationals...its gold! Never stop doing that! The ultimate mxa story would be if they had Josh race every national...might have to get someone to cover him for his regular work...but what a story...mxa assigns Josh to race the entire national mx championship and report on it every week...that's your job for this year Josh...go train at clubmx, go race the entire series....now that would be the most interesting mxa article ever..
It’s really cool that one of the best video guy’s can also hall butt at a Pro National Josh is such a stud on a dirt bike ❤🙏🗽🇺🇸
Love your videos Josh, hope you're not too sore from crash
Awesome 👌
Great job! Thank You for giving us insight - who is it like to race pro motocross.
Jett, Deegan and our Fav MXA Rider all went Rag Doll!!! 🎉 😂
And all three got back up and kept racing. I'm glad for that.
AP is out there helping the little guys.
Hey Josh, do you ever plan to try a KTM 250SX 2 stroke (built to the hilt of course 😁) in a National? Good luck at the next one!!!
Uber cool. Is there a video where you discuss the costs per round which I missed? Please post link😀
Good to see all these nearly crashes from guys and limited injuries, there was allot of nasty get offs this weekend.
The scoop or paddle tire is good for starts, but not racing... For qualifying, I'd say the regular nobby is the best bet. 🤘
I'm 66. Hydrate & urinating like a 12 year old. Rarely get up during sleep. I run (3-6 miles - 5 days a week) lots of hills, push the tempo!
Why? Luck or exercise regiment?
Retired school teacher - I guess that training helped! Recess pee only!
Sweet edit
Well done boys!
You're a freaking stud
Good job Josh,How can I get some stickers? I can’t get to the races
Try a couple laps around Thunder Valley on a 350… then switch to a 450.
Yet lots of 250's run pretty much same lap times 🤔
Tracks a lot different when the 450s are out there. But why handicap yourself with power if you don't have to?
They all running paddle tires alot of times just for the start, knowing it's worse everywhere else.(slower lap times)
They definitely want the extra hp for the start.
This is proven many times in road racing. Lighter lower displacement bikes can often run the same laptimes, but when it comes time to race the extra grunt out of a corner gets you a half bike length or more in front of the lower HP bike, thus owning the entry to the next corner.
Plus they require a high corner speed and momentum, often getting baulked by the gruntier bikes that frequently use more stop start lines, killing in the required momentum. As soon as the lower HP bike loses momentum they get left 2-3 bike lengths behind.
So the higher horsepower bikes will usually beat a lower HP bike, despite the lap times in qualifying being the same or even faster IN A RACE.
I'd love a 350 but the vets I race against always beat anyone who runs the 350 lighter, less energy required, just as fast laptime theory. These guys often coming back to the 450 and their more usual (better) results.
At yalls level I understand the 450 over 350. I’ve only rode 1 and I fell in love with it but it wasn’t the same as my 450 on power thats for sure. I’m too old to try and ride a 250 fast so if I ever got another it be a 350 so I can be alittle lazy point and shoot. 450 now would rip my little fragile shoulders out 😂😂 I havnt rode in years
I love my Yamaha yz450fx. The gearbox makes ALL terrain extremely manageable and the power tuner app is by far the most comfortable setting for anyone since the bikes have such a wide array of possible scenarios. It’s as if riding a 350 with extra sauce included at wide open throttle.
I’m 60 and the 24 KTM 450 is a tractor and linear power delivery. I found it easier to race and ride than the 350
I love my Husqvarna fc 350 best bike ever I'll never ride anything else everyone I race has 450s and I'm always faster on my fc 350 usually I can get a hole shot on them too
@@gw4717 I’ve heard a couple people say the Husky 350 is the best bike they ever rode.
Thanks for the friendly talk fellas, I’m use to just saying something like that and people turn the conversation straight left. And make it about me sucking or something. Maybe I do lol still can’t beat the feeling I get inside when my “slow ass” jumps a 50ft double. That can’t be duplicated by anything
The blue looks trick as with the orange
I can tell your fitness is better than mine hahaha
I get anxious watching crashes after breaking two bones in the last two years 😂😬 Glad nothing bad happened.
Is it not a bit unfair going from a non fe old frame 350 to the new frame you rave about 24.5 new frame.. it’s obvs going to be better
Well, Antonio Cairoli won several MX1 Championships on a KTM 350, while racing against 450's... so obviously they are good bikes (he even pulled off hole shots). I understand that maybe, just maybe Cairoli's level is different than yours 😏
Thanks for all of your awesome videos!
Well, Cairoli went back to the 450 afterwards…350s are useless for MX.
Is Josh going to be at high point?
No High Point sadly, we'll be at RedBud!
Doritos Josh? 😕
Now do a comparison, do a Yamaha next week
Yep, that's why you DON'T ride a 450, they'll flick you off like a fly!
Yes, the 450 will always be better! The 350 is like riding Levi’s PC 250, it just doesn’t have enough to hang with the 450s on the start, after corners and everywhere
2. run didn't help at the start... 😁
@@bertbroeder1832 ?
@@Smilesmd35 sorry bro, can't remember.
Is the bike Okay ? Knarly crash ; Dude 😎
That flagger was trash when he fell in qualifying. Wave the flag at least!
Does anybody know where Race Fans can hear about the Racing at the Nationals? All we hear about is Bubba"s Opinions and what he thinks? He ignores the Actual Racing! We never hear about the Racing!
A 350 is better for a novice rider... Easy as that!
My last experience 450 4stroke YZf450 2009. Didn't like it at all, too heavy, too powerful in slow corners.
Like to try a 350, 'cause big fella too big for a 250cc.
@@bertbroeder1832 sounds like you can't feel comfortable with a big lean angle and aren't the greatest with throttle control. I'm 6'2" and love my big bike, but I'm guessing you're talking about round big? I'm still shocked the Japanese bikes hasn't started making 250s for people in your situation.
Nah! 350s are useless. That’s why no MX/SX Pro rides them…
