With the new Fantastic Four movie coming out next year and getting all sorts of publicity, I thought it would be fun to go back to the run that started it all. All the way to the 1960s when Stan Lee & Jack Kirby gave birth to the Marvel Universe. I don't know how much Fantastic Four by Stan & Jack I will cover, although there is a lot I would love to get to, especially the Galactus storyline which is issue 48-50. I am currently working on Part 2 of my Fantastic Four coverage, and there is no way I am going to finish it in time for next Sunday, so there will be no video next weekend as I will need more time. But should have another hefty video of the FF in two weeks.
Absolutely love your long form content man i really can't begin to explain. Your awesome man i look forward to continuing to be a faithful viewer lol. Thank you for your time and work
I noticed with the subliminal introduction of the Hulk is coming tag line, Johnny Storm is wearing Green shirt with Purple pants… and supposedly the Hulk was supposed to be grey but they had already plotted to make him green… well played, haha
Well done, Danny, as always. When reading these Silver Age stories, we have to keep in mind that while modern comics are aimed largely at a sophisticated adult audience, 60 years ago they were aimed primarily at 12 year-old boys, so yeah, they could be pretty goofy. Best wishes.
I’ve never clicked on a video faster, I love the fantastic 4!!!! Recently hung out with my dad and showed him some cool marvel edits from the MCU over the past 10 years. When it ended he said “god what beautiful movies, really so fun and just awesome to look at” I asked him. What’s your favorite? Of all the superhero movies you’ve seen which one to you stands out the most? And he said “if I’m being honest it’s the 2005 fantastic 4 movie, it was so fantastic” and I just smiled and laughed he grew up with the Richard Donner movies and he loved those too so it makes sense haha!! I’m excited we are getting both a new Superman and a new Fantastic 4 next summer!!! Two weeks apart!! wow im so glad your doing a deep dive on the og super family
Im a HUGE Fantastic Four fan..i remember as a kid being fascinated by the fact that there was a superhero team based in NYC.. which im a lifelong resident of..in time i was able to collect the first 100 of so issues of FF.. along with the Incredible Hulk.. Avengers..Tales To Astonish..& many more. Btw IMO the BEST Fantastic Four runs are the Stan Lee Jack Kirby.. the John Byrne run..& the Steve Hickman runs..& even tho the upcoming FF movie has gender swapped the Silver Surfer ..im very much looking forward to it Meantime..im very much enjoying your FF compilation videos Keep up the great work brother 👑
Thank you very much Danny for this series...I have heard good vibes about this series, but was fearfull as it is very old .But you proved me wrong , i am loveing Ff. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can't believe RR takes down that huge 1-headed dragon that easy in FF#1. That should have been a story by itself, or maybe it splashes into the water and as it is coming back to attack them in anger they run and fall into the hole. From there it goes down or waits outside the hole for their return if it is too large. This is the first time I have seen reviews (i have never read any jack kirby) of the first F-4 run. I enjoyed the stories and it amazes me how he created villains like it was nothing.
Simply fantastic! Cant wait for More! It's about time to take a look at the classics! Thank you so much! Simply hilarious contrast between eras, styles and cultural media ofrom such early volumes! And just think of the future satires to come! xD (Example : Venture Bros!!! Lol) Recommendations for the classic volumes of: Thor, Dr Strange or even the almighty Hulk!! EXCÉLSIOR!!!
the patents to all the devices and technology that reed holds insures he never runs out of money. the idea that some bad stock choices ruined them is unrealistic af, lol.
I love how much of this initial stretch of issues establishes tropes, concepts, and characters that have remained with the franchise to this very day. It's still remarkably novel in storytelling and crisp in execution. I'm amazed that the only thing I can't fully take at face value is #9's beginning. Reed, man of certainty and sound science, playing the stock market, the ultimate sucker bet, without the aid of a CPA? Yes, this, even more than Namor owning and funding a private film studio, is my breaking point. It's a decent touch of "realism" that the group would run out of money through unfortunate circumstances, but I feel Johnny or Ben would be more likely to make ill-advised investments.
47:46 Well, it kind of does when you think about it This way It's no different how We give certain celebrities their own Cartoons, remember Jackie Chan adventures ' Chuck norris karate commands' The hammer man' Life with louie. The list goes on. Instant Hulk is more of a myth or a legend. And more than a nut he's on the run. It wouldn't surprise me if some company gotta wait with me. Can comic with the bottom and their world.
I think so. I just finished reading next Geiger volume. Junkyard Joe is finished or at least on hiatus, but now other books are being published in the same comic universe.
I was looking forward to this but right out the gate you was disparaging and kinda obnoxious with your takes. Stop looking and judging everything from the past through today's lenses. 60 years is a long time ago communism was quite a big deal, nuclear war wasn't a silly little thing,a president and his brother was assassinated, civil rights leaders was killed, police actions were taken against colleges among other things. We needed a litte escapism and silly far out stories to get away from the real world. So think about that before you judge things from your comfortable 2024 lenses of great tech, and amazing artwork where you cab click a button now to computerization of artwork

Jack kirby draws of machines and monsters are amazing
Comics of this period were the best
The early silver age, the early bronze age and the entire golden age are the best periods of comics.
@@richardabia9735agreed, I love everything about it, the art direction, the stories, characters etc.
@@perfectblue8443 yeah !
Truly messed up that Ben Grimm, the most concerned about the adverse effects of unstudied Cosmic Rays, gets affected the single most adversely. 😕
My father was a fan of the original run. He even saw the Hanna Barbera Cartoon when it was new. (He was born in 1966, but mostly grew up in the 70's.)

I wish you would do the John Byrne run of the Fantastic Four
I really want to read that run as I hear it’s the best after Stan/Jack. I’ve read some of Stan & Jack, and everything Hickman onward.
You should read it if you can it's great
Please do more Indy comic books like black

60s years old, yes, but a master piece. Why not cover the original hulk. Imagine people being shocked that Hulk was gray
Please go through as much F4 as you can. Lets get a deep dive like you did with invincible.
Great video.
Cover 1 to 300.😊
