  • I've owned several WRXs. The 2022-2024 generation is the best it's ever been. In this video, I explain why and why you should buy one.

No matter what anyone says to justify how nice these cars are there’s always the weasel keypad trolls putting them down. It’s funny you get people watching videos on them but they don’t like them. Doesn’t make sense. If I don’t like something why would I ever be wasting my time watching videos on it ? Maybe they have nothing better to do ? Weird. Anyways enjoy your car I really like my 23.

True. I don't understand the hate, either. It's like I said, just go drive one! They're really great and definitely underrated. AND you can get decent deals on them right now.

Got a limited 6 months ago. Ave 22-23mpg mixed driving. So Cal to Vegas Ave 28mpg. Great stiff chassis. The handling surprised/impressed me most of all. Tons of aftermarket support. Easiest/cheapest wrx or sti platform to get more power from with a bolt on or two and a tune. Got $3,100 off msrp. Zero regrets.

I got my first WRX a few weeks ago finally after wanting one since I was a kid.
There was Toyota dealership near me that had a used GR Corolla with 2k miles on it for the same price and I went with the WRX even after test driving that.
It feels safer and less shit box than the GRC. The blind spots are really bad in the GRC to me.
And now that I’ve been driving around, I’ve seen more GRCs than WRXs funny enough. I still haven’t seen another VB but I’m down in the south so there are less Subarus anyways.
This car is easily the coolest car I’ve ever owned and rode in. I definitely feel like the center of attention on the road in it 😂
I have the short shifter package from the dealership, which makes driving that much more fun. The pedal arrangement makes rev match downshifts so easy. I’m glad to see this generation finally getting its flowers.

The WRX is a great car, it drives real nice, amazing chassis, love it.
    Just two bad issues:
1 Real bad fuel consumption, the engine is thirsty.
    2. The car has lots of interior noise, everything vibrates.

I test drove a 2022 premium with 5K miles on it. I liked the car except for the brakes. It felt like I was stepping on a brick. No feel to the brakes at all. Not sure what was going on there. I need to try another car. The cladding has grown on me. At first, I thought it looked silly but it's actually pretty cool. The only issue is, how will all of that plastic look in a few years, especially the back bumper? I had a Kia Sorento with a lot of plastic all around and the sun beat the heck out of it. It faded and looked terrible. I had to keep applying Armor-All and other stuff to keep it looking dark and clean. Otherwise, it looked worn and faded.

I'm a Honda fanboy, and right now it's difficult to justify the enormous dealer mark-up for the Civic Si, which in some cases makes it more expensive than the Rex.

    • @jasonbellcars

I actually like that most people find it ugly. Good! Don't buy one then! I love the idea of putting functionality before looks. It's still a driver's car at heart with alot of the kinks worked out from the older models, and likely to be one of the last manuals made at this price point. Most people will pass on this car and that's great for my resale value. 😂

@@jasonbellcars it's just so generic, and those cheap plastic bits around the wheel wells... It's becoming like a Forrester.
I wonder if/when Subaru will have a renaissance the same way Toyota is having now. This sure ain't it.
The problem for car manufacturers is that we are entering a new era of EV vehicles (which I suspect will not last) and so for many manufacturers this is their last hurrah for ICE manufacturing. Look at some of the stuff we are seeing as a send off from the likes of Corvette and Porsche...
Will Subaru leave this monstrosity as their parting gift? Roll on electric Subarus then, their souls are already dead inside (the management I mean).
I pray for a second coming of Subaru, maybe during the Hydrogen engine era or the Ammonia powered engine era.
