    Good video. Lesson learned: remove the caliper and rotor.

    I just did this job on my Crown Vic. Both front wheels off the ground, unbolt sway bar, and remove two UCA bolts. I held onto the hub and rotor to make sure not to stretch the brake line.

    The moral of the story here, boys and girls, don't be a hackman and remove the caliper and rotor, it'll be much easier.

      💯 FACTS

    • @encinobalboa
      @encinobalboa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, it is easier to leave the calipers and rotors on. The mistake the videographer made was not supporting the hub and allowing the brake line to stretch.

    Definitely take the calliper and disc brake off. Easy to do and gets that stuff out of the way.

      I agree. In my case everything was pretty rusted and I didn’t want to open that can of worms. Especially since I was at my shop and the car was my only way home

    Do you need an alignment after new shocks

    • @brokeboycustom7655
      @brokeboycustom7655  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In this case, no. Unless there are camber adjustments your alignment doesn’t change. Most shocks don’t have camber adjustments from the factory but sometimes they get added in if the alignment is way off. A mechanic will tell you you need the alignment mostly to make a quick sale and to make sure everything is on right but I’ve never seen shocks change alignment that much

  • @StevenAwsomeYoda

    Hi I watch the four videos one video they just pushed the upper control arm all the way up and then did not have to remove nothing off the bottom arm

    • @brokeboycustom7655
      @brokeboycustom7655  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many ways to do this job. It definitely makes it easier to drop the lower control arm. I used to finesse these off but over time I found that loosening a few bolts saved me energy and frustration. I only hope to help my fellow driveway heroes in any way I can
