What I mean is, he said it's a bold statement to say that they could flip a switch, and you're saying that that is essentially what they did. The BIG difference is that they flipped their DECISION overnight. That doesn't mean it was a 'flipped switch' to implement it in code. I'm just saying, it might have taken 6 months to actually re-code it once the (ACTUALLY flipped) decision was made. I'm a professional programmer and I can say that it's possible that there is a boolean that turns this on or off.. but in order for that to ALSO automagically change all the rest of the code that handles this they would have had to have coded it with the idea that they may change this in mind. People who aren't programmers have NO IDEA how complex coding at this level is. Hell, people who ARE programmers, but don't do low level hardware coding have no idea. So don't think I'm dissing YOU. Any of these scenarios are within the realm of possibility. The likelihood, however, is better for some than others.

I can share games with my friend, once you set it up you can play download and play games in their library. The only hitch is that you have to be online to play the other persons game and that person can't be online at the same time. It's a bit annoying, but on the other hand I've basically doubled my games library for nothing,

With the exception of Kinect he was kind of right, no? Both console manufacturers are launching digital only consoles. And although games aren't really enhanced by the cloud I'd argue some of the biggest games of this generation are games that require an active internet connection and utilize an account that really only exists in the "cloud". Fortnite, Warzone, GTAOnline, Destiny 1 and 2, Apex Legends, Overwatch, etc. etc. I wouldn't call MN arrogant, the dude just looks stressed and I can't blame him with the mess that the Xbox One was. Dude's a mouthpiece for a company but at the end of the day he's only human.

Regardless of how you think he did, there was no one else there to put those questions we ALL wanted answered to that suited prick. Joe was there and he damn sure answered them. What? Should he have fought with him over the Mic? That woiulda looked REAL good. You're right. He's not a polished journalist and never once claimed to be. He claimed to be our man there asking questions we actually cared about. He delivered in spades, and Nelson showing himself as such a bully and asshole contributed to the DRM disaster and decreased sales for the console overall. It was a small interview, but it was at the very beginning of announcement. It got coverage everywhere. I know I can't see Nelson or consider purchase of an Xb1 without thinking of that interview. So no.. he's no Peter Jennings, and if that's what you expect you're unrealistic. He's an indy zine with a very wide audience, and a whole lotta talent for a one man operation. Damn, give him some props and respect.

Looking back at this interview is great. Really shows the corporate side of things. I could analyze this video and point out every little PR spin from him saying I like that when Joe mentions he's an Xbox guy to him trying to keep everything sounding positive when Joe says the problem is. I think during this interview Nelson was actually seeing the major flaws Xbox one had and how it was pretty much going to destroy their brand. Seriously just look at his expressions when Joe talks about Developers, region locks, and no internet homes.

I've met Major Nelson. He comes off as a rude guy, but I don't think he means it. He seemed kind of rude when I was talking to him. Then again he was busy. So this post is kind of pointless. Also you got to remember, if he said something bad about X1 at the time, he probably would of gotten fired. Hense, why he avoided questions. In the end, though we all got what we wanted...

I can share games with my friend, once you set it up you can play download and play games in their library.
The only hitch is that you have to be online to play the other persons game and that person can't be online at the same time.
It's a bit annoying, but on the other hand I've basically doubled my games library for nothing,

With the exception of Kinect he was kind of right, no? Both console manufacturers are launching digital only consoles. And although games aren't really enhanced by the cloud I'd argue some of the biggest games of this generation are games that require an active internet connection and utilize an account that really only exists in the "cloud". Fortnite, Warzone, GTAOnline, Destiny 1 and 2, Apex Legends, Overwatch, etc. etc.
I wouldn't call MN arrogant, the dude just looks stressed and I can't blame him with the mess that the Xbox One was. Dude's a mouthpiece for a company but at the end of the day he's only human.

Regardless of how you think he did, there was no one else there to put those questions we ALL wanted answered to that suited prick. Joe was there and he damn sure answered them. What? Should he have fought with him over the Mic? That woiulda looked REAL good. You're right. He's not a polished journalist and never once claimed to be. He claimed to be our man there asking questions we actually cared about. He delivered in spades, and Nelson showing himself as such a bully and asshole contributed to the DRM disaster and decreased sales for the console overall. It was a small interview, but it was at the very beginning of announcement. It got coverage everywhere. I know I can't see Nelson or consider purchase of an Xb1 without thinking of that interview. So no.. he's no Peter Jennings, and if that's what you expect you're unrealistic. He's an indy zine with a very wide audience, and a whole lotta talent for a one man operation. Damn, give him some props and respect.

Looking back at this interview is great. Really shows the corporate side of things. I could analyze this video and point out every little PR spin from him saying I like that when Joe mentions he's an Xbox guy to him trying to keep everything sounding positive when Joe says the problem is. And can't forget that infamous mic grab around 11:35. Truly a unique interview.

I had been a playstation fan since the beginning and then the ps3 came out not the best console went to xbox 360 and loved it. Then the xbox 1 fuck up happened and I am now a happy owner of a ps4 👍👍
