I've done very little travelling over the past 8 years so this is my first hotel review for ages. I stayed in the Novotel Hotel in York in March 2023 for 2 nights. This is what I found.
We've had a few memorable hotels too. 12 years ago hubby and I stayed at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. I got a really good midweek deal on a king suite, during the GFC. My poor farmboy husband thought it was a little swanky and over the top, but he did enjoy the room. The other memorable stay was at Coober Pedy, in the Australian outback, yes we're Aussies. It wasn't a hotel but an apartment at a caravan Park in the middle of nowhere. We got a full kitchen, laundry and bathroom, AC, and marble flooring. The marble floor feels wonderful in bare feet, on a stinking hot day. This apartment at the caravan Park was actually very affordable.

Is that a basic standard room, very small for two people.
