York is my favourite city in England too, I just 'cllicked' with the vibe of the city, it was like love at first vibe 😅 and whenever I go there I'm in a good mood instantly. My life dream is moving to live there. Some day.

we stayed in the queens hotel , near the lendle bridge on the river opposite the kings head pub famous for being flooded , inside there is a guide to how high the waters reached !

The location is perfect. You will love it... maybe not the stairs thiugh 😀 hold the hand rail

We visit whitby a LOT. loads of steep and winding stairs, some stone, in the oldest buildings there too. Can recommend. Untouched by modern hands. A real step back in time. A working harbour, fishing boats going out etc. We loved to watch them returning early morning. But be warned, you'll lose your heart. Stay at The Dolphin. Right on the river and the swing bridge. Fabulous. ❤️

Looking at the wretches in Parliament we have at the moment, I think we should be mourning Guy Fawkes, not celebrating his death and failure.
