Watched “Our Flags Mean Death” on HBOMax and got curious if it was based on a real person. What the hell, he was real! I am pretty sure I watched this video when it came out and forgot, but had me thinking while watching the Television Show, “Do I already know this?” Thanks for being a TH-cam Channel of dense and obscure historical information, but should be more common knowledge. You fills in holes in my dictated and regulated American School’s History Books.

I say Stede Bonnet can serve the best example of how you can have everything but still not be satisfied with your life. And while he might not have been the best pirate ever, the fact that we are still talking about him today makes this one of the most successful mid-life crisis of all time.

Everything is accurate, but there are some speculations of other things. But one part of that show is inaccurate and that's towards the end. The government at the time did not use a shooting squad to kill Bonnet and his crew, they were hung. So yeah. A d this guy basically clarified that last part.

But that does not mean they didn't get the idea from IH or Count Dankcula. What is the most time consuming is the fact they would have to do research and condense it into the 20 minute informative format that this channel is known for. While they would have gotten around to Stede eventually, he clearly got priority. Not hating, but to call this a "coincidence" is bollocks.
