I've been to the museum where they have the artifacts recovered from his wreck preserved! It's really quite fascinating, I got to see the bell up close and all the personal items on display. It was once in Wellfleet, but it is now in Hyannis, Massachusetts, for any who are curious.

I am related to Maria Hallett. My father's family is from Barnstable and has lived there since 1627. At one time the town of Barnstable produced most of the ships in the British Royal Navy making it an incredibly important location during the years preceding the American Revolution. The strategic value cannot be overstated. Specifically this was in the village of Centerville. There is almost no sign of this activity these days as the ship building coastline is now a resort area. Barnstable is the town where the village of Hyannisport is located famous for being president Kennedy's summer home.

Now they just think I'm weird for doing it. The simple explanation is - I found the most comfortable combination and I can't decide what to wear, so I don't. I don't like wasting my time on that or being uncomfortable. I usually set up everything in my life to my liking and I don't go out of routine much. I like it that way.

The broadcaster states that bones recovered in 2018 were DNA compared to that of a living relative. Just to clarify, there are no living male descendants of Samuel or siblings with whom to compare. Therefore, the person used as a DNA sample in England could not provide a match. I am aware of the Bellamy used for the sample and can categorically say their family lines do not trace back to Hittisleigh Devon. You would need a confirmed male descendant of Sam whose YDNA could be compared to the bones. This exercise was quite frankly a non-starter, commercially driven, flawed and misleading.

My cousins and I have traced Bellamy back to pre 1066 Normandy (Village of Belle Ami'), there is an error in the lineage between the late 1500s and the early 1700s, my branch can trace back to 1630s and Barbados , there's a missing person

Did you all know that the wreck of The Wydah, is one of the only pirate shipwrecks to be officially identified. Which means. Either a lot of other ships have never been found, or no one recorded the find. Which is extremely hard to believe for the latter.

Please do a video on Major John Wesley Powell. He served in the Union Army in the Civil war and despite losing most of his right arm at the battle of Shiloh, he took on the mission to complete the first full descent of the Green and Colorado River from Wyoming and through the Grand Canyon in 1869. It was a miserable journey full of drama and intrigue. It's right up your alley!

Mary Hallett was born in Barnstable in 1698, the daughter of John Hallett and Elizabeth Bellamy. She was Samuel Bellamy's first cousin. Her son, Samuel died as a baby in 1716 in Eastham in the then village of Wellfleet. She died in 1746 at the age of 48. She never married and since she had the child out of wedlock she was exiled to the dunes where she offered her services as a healer to those who could not afford a doctor. She became well known among seamen who needed to be healed of a disease or patched up after an injury. She eventually amassed a decent amount of money and rumors began to spread that Bellamy had given her some of his vast fortune before he died. Her reputation as a witch was the result of local ministers calling her that because they called any woman who did not go to church or who had a child out of wedlock that and similar insults. There was also a folk tail that all the men who washed up on that shore were her victims resulting from her rage since Bellamy had broken up with her but that isn't what happened. Bellamy was actually coming to get her to sweep her off her feet and take her to a far off land and marry her. But his ship wrecked instead. Her grave and that of her son can be found in Eastham. I know, I've put flowers on it. I am descended from her sister.

I’m glad your channel is so successful. I don’t know what to do, as i can no longer watch it, owing to the commercials. I suppose there may be some way of making them go away, possibly by paying money to you, or paying money to TH-cam, but i’m losing patience taking time to research things like this to find out what i’m expected to do. it’s all very overwhelming, and i feel depressed about it.
People will probably laugh at me and scorn me for this message, because that’s how people relate to one another now. Or even more likely, i’ll just be ignored. It’s quite depressing actually, so i guess i’ll just leave.
