Did this one today for the first time! Sunday night verdict: this one LITERALLY KICKED. MY. BUTT. I actually even incorporated a bit of stepping with the segments and my lower body FELT that! And you know what? I LOVE it. I had a very extremely busy weekend and this was exactly what I needed not just health-wise but even intellectually and emotionally. And by that, I mean, it's so easy to get caught up in all the stuff being done that we tend to put off exercising. But this year, I decided that no matter what, I am NOT going to disrespect my body by neglecting to move it. Daily movement for the human body is a MUST and we MUST do it every single day. Thankfully, Winter, your videos help me meet my daily movement quota. Even if I am not necessarily meeting my 10k steps in one go or every single day, I know that I am getting my heart rate up (and no, engaging in romantic activity with your SO doesn't cut it, lol, even though I suppose it can be an okay cardio activity) by moving my body and getting my sweat on 35 - 45 mins a day.
*What I loved:* Winter, the short 5 second breaks are AWESOME. I like that I have the option in the middle with the 30 second breaks but at times, I just skipped the break altogether and kept hopping on my aerobic stepper ;) I also love that the music was different for each of the 3 segments so that kept me from getting bored and made my brain look forward to the next segment regardless of the difficulty. Not only my sports bra but the waist of my yoga pants were DRENCHED. What an amazing feeling!
Winter, I sincerely hope you will make more such kickboxing with dumbbells and jump rope combos. They give such an AMAZING FULL body workout, work the different muscles we tend to ignore, and the array of cardio exercises that can be done with a light pair of dumbbells is literally countless! I love this one, Winter, can't wait to try this again tomorrow :)

Day 4 and counting: STILL my favourite! I am not sure why exactly but even though the intervals are longer with only like 5 seconds rest in between each "rep" I guess, I find myself not getting tired! In fact, if anything, the longer I do this, the more of a burst of energy Alhamdullillah I find myself acquiring! I am not sure why that is exactly but lemme tell y'all: it's a good feeling! By the time I am done, I am DRENCHED. Like literally, you can WRINGE the bottom of my yoga pants. What an amazing feeling Alhamdullillah.
Winter, I have been following your channel for the last 5 months and counting and let me just say, I continue to love ALL the things that drew me first and foremost to your channel: the lack of blabbering, pleasing visuals, variations, appropriate timing. The other thing I particularly love about this workout is that you very appropriately timed the 30 second break inbetween. The harder I go, the more I find myself relishing the 30 second break... which is perfect because as soon as the 30 seconds are up, I go back into full workout mode again.
I hope you will make more such combo workouts with your beautiful self and the ultra-mini rests in between the reps! Thank you SOOO much, Winter!

THIS VIDEO MIGHT JUST BE MY NEW FAVOURITE!!! I have a very rigorous schedule so the truth is, if it weren't for these videos of Phoenix Nation, I simply would be putting exercising on the backburner. But these videos of Winter, coupled with the pleasing aesthetics and the KICKBOOTY music, make me actually look FORWARD to my workout and take it seriously. High BP runs in my family so I cannot take the risk. The doctor told us long ago that the best way to keep that under control is to do a workout that makes you basically DRENCHED (to keep the salt level down) - and Winter, your workouts do that for me!
Winter, honestly, this one is SO cool. I LOVE the boxing with the light dumbbells combo, it makes my arms feel like noodles, haha, at FIRST only but afterwards, they feel so good! I am definitely starting to see a difference in my shoulders and arms, they have the underlying muscle starting to show! And my back is definitely getting tinier, my husband noticed.
Winter, seriously, Almighty Allah bless you and your husband for helping COUNTLESS people around the world live a better life. WE LOVE YOU.

Hi lovely I know that fitness is really important for your health and its great that you are doing your best to live a healthy life.
Taking small steps forward or small changes will lead to bigger improvements. ... But big changes quickly, can be quite overwhelming, so Kaizen embodies doing things step by step, little by little, because then it's easier to make a start, easier to manage, and more importantly continually improve what you are doing. I reallylike this work out. It's even more challenging than your 30 minute jump exercise I was doing. Now I know how you got so toned. You make the split jump look so easy. When I do it, it's like a comedy show. But, you are my motivation I'll keep trying.

I had some trouble keeping up with this one. The boxer step, then sumo squat, by the time I get to the jump squats falling over.
The second part plank, boxer step, and russian twist was a little easier. I am older, and a little overweight so I guess I have to build up to it. You make it look so easy

Man i remember when i took my first boxing class and they made us do 5 sets if 3 minute jump rope as the warm up, and in the next class 2 sets of 10 minute jump rope, made realize how weak i was. Love the excercise vids. Quick thought, for boxing purposes whats the fastest non-telegraphic punch. In my opinion for me, its a southpaw stance high guard (gloves above the eyes) pinkies and forearms together (for corkscrew momentum) shoulders high, snap of the wrist into elbow and back. Any thoughts?

@@haidaryasin2669 your diet seems pretty good but weight loss itself takes a LOOONG time just because historically, our bodies have evolved to be extremely efficient in terms of storing fat and only expending the most minimum possible in order to keep ourselves alive. And I absolutely agree with Winter's idea of keeping a food journal, it's not only fun and therapeutic but an excellent way of tracking your nutrition.
It's very much possible you are gaining muscle if you are lifting weights and eating, like you said, a lot of protein. And here is what I learned: when you start a new exercise regimen, your body's muscles swell up due to them being used so you could also be retaining water.
I know it sounds sooo cliche but it's true: don't let the scales fool you or disappoint you! It's not a bad idea necessarily to focus on your weight but I would suggest you take a tight pair of jeans or shirt and use that to track your progress. And a measuring tape. Focus on losing inches FIRST, then the weight will follow. Good luck! And I agree, Winter's videos are the BEST!
