- With China's borders now open for Singaporeans and Malaysians, we had the opportunity to visit the country visa-free for the first time. As the second-largest economy after the USA, China has long been recognized as a manufacturing powerhouse. However, it has undergone a remarkable transformation to emerge as a global leader in the tech space, further solidifying its status as a "sleeping giant" in the global economy, and is now awakening and show to the world. Is China the Sleeping Giant in Global Economy Awakening?
From electric vehicles to a fully cashless society, China is setting new standards for innovation, sustainability, and efficiency.

I hope you are right. I don't wish to insult you, so please forgive me. But to me, China is a production hub of a cheap knock off products that break the second day when you buy them. Be it cars or phones, not to mention companies like AliExpress or Temu. Cheap items but in a long term only a huge waste of energy and resources to produce garbage. When you say China, that's the first thing that comes to my mind. Second is pollution left and right. But mind you, i am an European, so my view could be totally biased, due to lack of information or twisted information. We'll see what you have to offer in a very near future i guess ! Best of luck !
Hey thank you for your comments and the explanation.
We are not from China, this was our first time visiting the country. And of course we used to buy something from AliExpress, fair enough the items are not of the best quality given its affordability. I personally use Xiaomi product (handfree, hairdryer) and I felt the quality is not bad, of course the smartphone is not on par with Apple, so we are still using Apple. While for electric cars used as cab, we felt it is a good step forward compared to other south east asia countries, not sure about Europe.
It is just personal perspective.
Have you tried their smartphones or car so far?
You are so ignorant, many goods in Europe are made in China and supplied, only Europeans sell them after affixing their trademarks, including BMW cars Volkswagen, German dentures and home lawn mowers are all made in China, while Apple's high-end phones are also made in China and designer clothing is better than those in other countries. U.S. dock cranes, and even U.S. docks for repairing warships are made in China, and more than half of Amazon's products are also made in China.
My iPhone has not broken in 2 days. Temu is not high quality products that's why they are so cheap in price. I don't know what your expecting.
China became the Worlds manufacturer as a way to lift over half a billion of its people out of abject poverty (it was once as poor as an African nation a few decades ago). Cheap products also allowed poor people in the world to live in dignity as now they can afford clothing and electronics. In addition, China actually has multiple tier in terms of quality--most companies pay the lowest tier for quality because they want to make the most profit. Tbh, technology in China has improved a lot pat few decades or else they would not have had a space station and obtain dirt from the dark side the moon.
@@慕容易明 Soooo, you are putting out examples, of mostly EU/US companies, that went producing stuff to china, because of the cheap labour, but by EU/US standards, rules and regulations ? So that's your strong card and an example ? Please, keep calling me ignorant :)
Why are trying to explain to us about what China is doing or how they are doing it. You are years too late, many people already know this. NEXT!!!
Just expressing what we feel as this was our first time visiting.
Maybe you are years too advanced.
What topics would be timely and relevant from your perspective?
@@AxeandYungDon't mind him, I too sometimes feel frustrated of the censorship around china's progress, hence the backlash. Please keep exploring China for yourself
Thank you for your kind words 😊
China great big powerful economy. World power. Population big manufacturers BRI. High technology electric car export. Bayudu car.
China is the second largest populated country and has been contributing a lot to the manufacturing sector. And now they are learning to be better and better in the tech space, so impressive
watch out for tofu-dreg buildings... 😅
That sounds scary. Why would you say so?
May I ask you about the current situation in China ? I have been watching videos describing China with high unemployment, businesses shutdown and people marching to protest the authority. Are these true ?
Hey thanks for the question.
As we only visited the capital city, what we saw is there are not as crowded as Japan and Singapore, but still filled with people at the shopping street and the night pubs area. There are tourists everywhere, we felt that many people are traveling domestically within China, which is also good for the economy.
As China itself is big, it is not easy to control employment rate. From the news, the rate seems to be better in September.
We did not encounter anyone doing public protest like what we usually see in Europe. There are many security guards in the tourist area, and it made us feel safe.
People marching to protest the authority, hahahahahahaha.
When I was in Japan this Year i didnt use any cash - mostly mobile or card. And they allow Foreign Cards. China only their own.. its designed for chinese. Isolation is never good.
Now we are living in Japan and some of the ramen shops are still requesting to pay using cash.
I agreed that Japan seems to be more open to foreigners by accepting credit cards, cash and even Alipay, compared to China that only allow the use of certain apps.
@ some Ramen shops have the right to do so - dont forget that Japan is a free democracy and not totalitarian as Singapore or China
That’s right those are the small shops that request for cash payment. I understand why you said China is totalitarian, but Singapore is considered a parliamentary nation.
Fun fact, we have the similar background in our TH-cam profile picture, which is the pagoda and the mount Fuji.
@@lw4583China is isolated?? Well, .... Hahaha.. hahaha.. hahaha... You can always link your bank account or credit card with Alipay or WeChat pay, old kidd!! Just buy a ticket and go there. It's visa free for many countries now!!
