    I'm glad you showed how to build the coilover. Maybe it's shown in instructions or something but it'll help for me if I do go for these coilovers (which is likely)

    Looks great! But I definitely would have went with some flyin’ Miata sway bars and end links before even installing the coil overs. All in all a damn clean Miata though! Keep the videos coming G!

    I've recently put some street basis z's on to my mk2.5. As it's my daily, and I was just replacing a snapped rear coil, I went with the slightly cheaper option for just lowering the car. I don't really do track days either. Goddamn they are way comfier than I was expecting. Great build quality all round.
    You think your mx5 is rusty... 😂 Try working on a British one that's lived outdoors and on farms its whole life

    Nice video. But you forgot to mention in the end of the video that a wheel alignment is a good thing to do after switching to coilovers. 👍

    Those are the Street Advance Z, right? Can you also adjust a lot more than the supposed 16 clicks on yours as well? I can turn my adjusting knob about 30 times from one end to another instead of supposed 16 clicks.

    Good video Project Miata. The video and audio quality are pretty top notch. Congats for taking the top hat off the correct way and for sure congrats for the coilover purchase. Keep up the great work. Could I get you to check out some of my videos and let me know what I can do to improve my content? Can't wait to hear what you think.

      Corey Brigner Hey man thank you so much that really means a lot! Yea there was a lot more tension removing those top hats than I thought so glad I did that too lol watching them now

    Hey man! A cheap upgrade I suggest is doing the exhitake swap! You should make a video of it if you do!

    Now that you have had these coilovers for a while how would you say that they ride for everyday use

    • @projectmiata4813
      @projectmiata4813  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hillbilly Sportsman They are currently dialed in right at setting 6 out of 10 which I found to be a good daily setting that provides a good amount of stiffness without sacrificing too much comfort. But you can go softer and the ride will be better, but compared to the stock suspension huge difference 👍🏻

    Hey, very good video first of all. Please let me know if you got the spacers and washer(with the package of Tein basis z) you put on the shocks before installing them in to the car. I did not receive then in the package.

      Naveen G Thank you! Well actually I bought the Tein Advance Series not the basis the different between yours and mine is your coilover is not damping adjustable if I remember correctly. DM pictures me on my Instagram page @project.miata of what you got hopefully I can help you bro

    Great video!! Did you experience any rubbing after installing the coil-over? Also did you have to remove the plastic liner from the front wheel well? Thanks!!

    • @projectmiata4813
      @projectmiata4813  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kevin Zhang Thank you!! I did rub a little under load having the wheel turns to either side, let’s say example going up a driveway. But not that bad I noticed more running when the suspension settled and decided to lower it more. I didn’t have to remove the wheel wheel liners ;) But I did end up rolling my fenders and I don’t rub at all anymore! Check out that video I posted.

    Im installing these on mine right now and had a question. When screwing on the very top nut did it leave a lot of thread once tightened? Mine seems to have excessive thread at the top but i have everything installed in the right order so idk. Thanks!

    • @kamjanamja
      @kamjanamja 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there's supposed to be 2 nuts on the top and the bottom of the 2nd nut should be 31mm +/- 1 mm from the top of the threads. The 1st nut should be torqued down to 25 ft/lb I believe.

    Where do you do your installs? Do you have a garage, or rent some type of space? Interested for future. (I do live in DTLA)

    • @projectmiata4813
      @projectmiata4813  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brandon McKenzie-Nozari I did all of these installs in a garage, the apartment complex I used to live at had garages you could rent a month. I’m sure you could do it in DTLA if where you live has garage spaces for rent 👍🏻

    Did you use a foot lbs wrench and loctite? Alot of do it yourselfers do not and that a deadly mistake. last thing you need is a blot working its way off and then you are fucked.

    • @projectmiata4813
      @projectmiata4813  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did actually blue loctite because I don’t want a permanent seal and always torque down to specs ALWAYS. I did know someone who lost a tire because he forgot to tighten the upper control arm
