If I recall correctly, No Nut November was only supposed to be a meme, that slowly turned into a real trend.
It first evolved from No Shave November, where men would go a whole month without shaving their facial hair in order to spread awareness for testicular and prostate cancer.
However, since some men couldn't follow that trend for various reasons, or simply couldn't grow beards, the community eventually came up with No Nut November and No Fap February, partially as a joke.
As Dr. Martha has already mentioned, it is medically advisable for males to ejaculate regularly, so I don't think NNN should be taken seriously, with the exception of people who are trying to combat addiction, etc.

From my following of reddit I understand NNN to be something that came out of the nofap movement. Tbh memes aside I do think nofap has good intentions and other sexologists have supported it for the following reasons:
1. While masturbation for regular ejaculation is healthy, when porn and jerking off become addictions it can interfere with daily life.
2. The death grip problem mentioned in the vid can affect sex with a partner
3. Particularly with porn use, expectations around sex can change to unrealistic levels

No nut November I think originated from No Fap. There are roses in energy and clarity by abastaining masturbation.
But then again it’s very hard if you have been touching yourself until now.
Then again, masturbation is a natural sexual body response every human does, it should not be shamed and frowned upon.
