Some back to back testing between a 1996 Honda CR250 and a 2006 Honda CR250. Very interesting test. How far did honda progress in 10 years. Leave a comment to let me know which one you guys preferred
Very interesting Nev, i bought my 2nd 89 500rf in 3 decades off James,s dad a few yrs ago. ace bike, bust the front rim on a bad landing about a yr in, so love my Cr250-steel frame cos im old=i like the "sitting in the bike! feel you talk about. And that 96 sounds seems so diff to be on Cant get my head around being perched on newer 2ts.
Ok brother.. I don't know your budget.. but I can with the utmost confidence tell you if you can afford it.. send your cylinder an head to pro circuit. They can port and polish it to match your pipe and silencer to get the power curve you need.. Mike Brown rode for them several years ago (late 90s early 2000), and his bikes were faster than a lot of the big factory riders! (Yes, I'm also a fan of Brownie. He's from my home state TN)It was ported and polished and had a matching pipe and silencer and pro circuit suspension..basically it had more bells and whistles than joe blow off the street could get! I rode one of his pro circuit 250s it was either a late 90s or early 2000 model, after he traded it in at Honda of Johnson City here in TN.. It would hang with my 1985 Honda CR500 I had at the time. But if you need a little more mid an top, have her ported and polished with a matching pipe and silencer! Just make sure whoever does it knows what they're doing! Going up a tooth on the front or down a tooth on the back sprocket could make a difference.. also try what they call a phat head cylinderhead... it's a cylinder head that comes with a couple of interchangeable head sizes.. for different compressions.. try different plugs.. a Boysen Rad Valve (firm believer in them)will also help.. or you could change your gearing a little.. if you feel like tearing her down to do that.. Neville Bradshaw No.1 baby!! Go, team Bradshaw!!!😊❤😊❤😊❤
Cheers mate. I think it depends on what level your racing at. What bikes the competition is in etc. was a lot more talent than bike 20 years ago in my opinion
The 96 is probably the best Honda 250 ever made.
Nice great info , I had a 2001 cr 125 many moons ago and it was soo good
Great talent I was surprised with only 1second difference, keep pushing the limit 💯
Thanks mate ✊🏻
Good luck in the up coming "Old Fart's of des Nations" Nev....looking forward to some footage. 🍻🇦🇺

Cool video Nev i like this style of video some good info and surprising.what do you think the ratio is machine 40 percent rider 60 pecent?

96 bike with a 2001 engine is prolly the best
Raiders hat? I dig it mate. It's funny that you would prefer the opposite over most people, the case reed motor in the 96 frame.
I was on track same day , wish I knew you were doing reviews you could have given my 79 yz 250 a blast round....I wonder what lap times they would be.
That would’ve been fun 😁
Gd stuff. I much prefer older 2 smokers. Informational and educational
Thanks bud 🙏🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Make sure it has a #5 slide cut away in pwk38
I have a 96 cr250 i bought new its got original front tire and same weisco topend from when i bought it iam 230 pounds and it wheelies every gear
Steven Holaman I own the cr 250 1992 reel bike
the mid range on gen3.2(05-06) needs to be reduced it's too much.
even for a experienced rider it's gonna cause accidents.
The newer ones had become more domesticated, tamed even. lol. Maybe the '96 will yank a better start.
Yeah deffo got more bottom on the 96
Helmet cam .... 👍👍 My '06 is fast as f@*k
Keihin carb for bottom-mid
Mikuni carb for mid-topend power.
Those new generation CRs are good when you get them set up
I even like 06 in stock form
