I'm so glad I found this video! I see it's been a LONG time ago since you posted it, but I'm currently withdrawing from six years of xanax use. I laughed so hard. Even in the midst of my body doing all of the muscle jerking, I laughed hysterically at this video. So nice to see a video with some humor in regards to this terrible trauma. I needed the laugh! I hope you realized you dodged a bullet and continued to steer clear of benzos? I'm going into day 9 after a very quick taper. I've been through some extreme physical and emotional traumas in my 57 years of life, but this xanax withdrawal has been the absolute worst trauma by far. Thanks for the laughs! I needed it!
Benzo withdrawas gets you geek'd out . You're nervous system goes on overdrive when you stop. Benzos calms your nerves. What goes down must go back up.
Thank you for sharing your story. I've been on 6-8 mgs of Xanax and 10-15 mgs of Ambien, ,which is like a benzo. I've been on these meds for 23 years. My Doctor got very sick and had to close his office and I called my therapist and she hooked me up with an asshole of a Doctor. He screamed at me, calling me an addict. So my therapist switched me to another DR and she is hell bent on taking me off my meds, against my will. She has been taking 5 mgs every month of Ambien and I am so sick. I'm going through benzo withdrawal and I'm terrified and I probably will die. I'm having hallucinations, terrors, fear, anxiety and I can't sleep. So my day's are 24 hrs of suffering. I come back to this video all the time. I have a few private videos on my channel about my benzo addiction and withdrawal but they got so much attention I was worried. Maybe people know more about them now but 7 years ago when I was 19 I had NO IDEA. And I agree thats its absolutely stupid they are even sold or prescibed. I experienced everything you did and I love the way you speak about it. I was actively addicted to Xanax for about 2.5 years. ODed on a mix of Xanax and alcohol and the withdraw, I had help the first few days since I was in the hospital, but I literally heard (auditory hallucination) my grandmother from beyond the grave yelling at me. She was damning me to hell and it was like she was screaming in my ear. Never experienced anything like it before or since. I almost (almost) went back to the church after. Ended up starting with opiates just to get high and will say that benzo withdraw sucks ass for months and months. I could barely have a conversation with people and worst of all I couldn't even relieve my anxiety by masturbating or anything. Literally couldn't orgasm or feel please for MONTHS. The constant paranoia and voices and anxiety and shakes, but opiates got me GOOD even now. I mostly stopped wanting any benzo a few years ago. It's a weird road but honestly who doesn't love getting high? This video is a good PSA but it also makes me wanna get fucked up idk about anyone else.

The Ashton Manual is great, but it's beastly that a freaking textbook is necessary to properly taper this drug. I think I'm going to embed this in my benzo blog. Keep making vids. That's the reason why i take benzos just at night as prescribed or little more if i need it, TRULY for anxiety and insomnia, and never fuck the dosages up. And if once in x months i wanna feel the effect of some non-prescribed benzo, i'll pop one or two and then stop. Where i live few years ago a devastating earthquake with hundreds dead and thousands injured happened and, well, a couple of years after it i started taking benzos on a daily basis, as i could not handle the trauma induced sleep disorders, but before the earthquake even if doctors many time proposed me benzos for REAL health issues i had prior to the telluric event i've ever avoided taking them on a daily basis. I'm an indivdual prone to psychoactive substances, but i don't fuck with benzos. As a kid i used to, and looking back i wonder how the fuck i could be so mindless - but i've never experienced withdrawals, back then. Now, as an adult, before i started benzo therapy, when i took some benzo, alprazolam over all, even just for one day, the day after i felt more than once that i was missing something, not only on a psychological level, like when you drink and you need a little booze the day after in order not to feel like shit. DON'T FUCK WITH BENZOS, LEAVE IT ALONE FOR THOSE OF US WHO NEED IT FOR LEGIT PURPOSES - AND IF YOU JUST CAN'T AVOID, DO IT IN MODERATION, AS IF YOU DON'T START A DAILY HABIT JUST A PILL OR TOO WILL BE "FUN" AND LEAVE YOU FUCKED UP ALL DAY/NIGHT LONG. In my European Country does not even exist, your Xanax bars, just 1 mg or less, and the 2 or 3 mg extended release, but no bars at all (maybe they'll arrive i don't know). And it's absurd that some kids, even those not yet addicted, can pop or snort three, four, five bars. Try one a quarter at once with lil ganja and VERY LIL beer: you'll be fine without blacking out. Or, even better, have some ganja and beer and leave pills alone. It's no joke. And the effect of dozen pills is not even fun.

yeah, i'm still looking for some natural remedies. so far i've tried 5-HTP, St John's Wort, Passion Flower and Kava, and neither of those have helped me. there aren't that many more natural options so i may have to start taking one of those SSRIs. my anxiety has prevented me from working for 2 years. i'm 22 living with my parents. i feel like i need something to get me out of my rut so i can get a job and then once i make some money and can start seeing a therapist.
I'm thankful the doctor I saw today laughed at me for asking for Valium... Though embarrassing at the time, he at least ended up explaining things to me and trying to understand why I was interested in Valium in the first place. It was due to social anxiety, so he ended up giving me a short list of antidepressants to consider. I wasn't aware that they sometimes treat anxiety with antidepressants. The suggestions were Paxil, Effexor and Cymbalta. Now i just need to research before going back

BenZos especially clonazepam and diazepam are great for hangovers. I get them prescribed but only use them after a bender of heavy drinking. Take a few for 5 days no withdrawal symptoms. Ween myself of those for the next week and I’m good as new. Well, until the next bender haha

You're quite wrong about Heroin withdrawal. It IS like trainspotting where you're shut in a room screaming and feel like you're dying. Sure, if you only take it for a few days you'll only get a cold-type feeling. But try taking it for several months or years and you'll see what hell on earth feels like.

I think the scene with the baby in Trainspotting is all about the withdrawal nightmares you get. Getting any sleep at all while on a WD is very tough, and what little sleep you can get is ruined by nightmares. I have had nightmares like this (funnily enough often involving dead babies) before I ever saw trainspotting; and they feel so real it's amazing just how bad you can feel waking up from one. I'd still rather come off opiates than benzos though. Won't touch benzos now with a barge pole
I' m 20 years old and just now getting over a severe opiate addiction, started with pills like oxymorphone, oxycontin, fentanyl patches, hydromorphone, etc, but then moved to heroin for a good solid year due to the inexpensiveness compared to pills. Heroin is at LEAST a quarter of the cost. Now i'm on suboxone and i've been clean for awhile, but I still can't put the needle down, so I IV my subs, but there's no high, just the joy of IV. But trust me, I wouldn't wish opiate WD on my worst enemy.
I think its how many months your taking the opiate or the benzo. If your on opiates for 2 months and benzos for 2 years of course the benzo withdrawal is going to be worse.
No, but there are 2mg Ativan (lorazepam) tablets. He said he would take 5, simple multiplication 2x5=10...10mg, and oral lorazepam is the least affective route. The bioavailability is much higher given IV (intravenously) , IM (intramuscularly), or Sub-Q (subcutaneously). So it is totally plausible that 10mg of lorazepam did not do much for him.

BenZos especially clonazepam and diazepam are great for hangovers. I get them prescribed but only use them after a bender of heavy drinking. Take a few for 5 days no withdrawal symptoms. Ween myself of those for the next week and I’m good as new. Well, until the next bender haha

...I liked your transparency and honesty in what your saying but I feel compelled to correct you on Two point's...Your words "Ten mg's of Ativan is nothing"...Ativan (Lorazapam) is available in 0.5mg, and 1mg tablets I think that your thinking that ativan is available in the 10mg size..it's not...If one has no tolerance to Ativan and takes 10mg because they have heard that it "is nothing" well, it's not going to be good..But youa re right.Benzos are some of the most addictive drugs in the world
You're quite wrong about Heroin withdrawal. It IS like trainspotting where you're shut in a room screaming and feel like you're dying.
Sure, if you only take it for a few days you'll only get a cold-type feeling. But try taking it for several months or years and you'll see what hell on earth feels like.

I think the scene with the baby in Trainspotting is all about the withdrawal nightmares you get. Getting any sleep at all while on a WD is very tough, and what little sleep you can get is ruined by nightmares.
I have had nightmares like this (funnily enough often involving dead babies) before I ever saw trainspotting; and they feel so real it's amazing just how bad you can feel waking up from one.
I'd still rather come off opiates than benzos though. Won't touch benzos now with a barge pole
I' m 20 years old and just now getting over a severe opiate addiction, started with pills like oxymorphone, oxycontin, fentanyl patches, hydromorphone, etc, but then moved to heroin for a good solid year due to the inexpensiveness compared to pills. Heroin is at LEAST a quarter of the cost. Now i'm on suboxone and i've been clean for awhile, but I still can't put the needle down, so I IV my subs, but there's no high, just the joy of IV. But trust me, I wouldn't wish opiate WD on my worst enemy.

I think its how many months your taking the opiate or the benzo. If your on opiates for 2 months and benzos for 2 years of course the benzo withdrawal is going to be worse.

No, but there are 2mg Ativan (lorazepam) tablets. He said he would take 5, simple multiplication 2x5=10...10mg, and oral lorazepam is the least affective route. The bioavailability is much higher given IV (intravenously) , IM (intramuscularly), or Sub-Q (subcutaneously). So it is totally plausible that 10mg of lorazepam did not do much for him.
