I started doing drugs since my teenage, got addicted to opioid. Spent my whole life fighting opioid addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Was actually diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 4 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.

Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏

Thanks for sharing your story. That's rough I sympathize. Save your health save your mind. Life is better without heroin, cocaine, alcohol and cigarettes. And you have more money in your pocket. God bless everyone who has rejected the devils intentions to be addicted to alcohol and cigarettes etc which can cause so much damage to health. I will pray for you all.

@Cantwait4summer the way to do it is with alot of cbd and\or thc edibles. Another form of benzo with a small dosage to taper off. With an anti seizure medication. And pure prayer. The first 3 days are the hardest. Get through that you'll start feeling "eh i can beat this". Im the biggest xanax addict. Plz trust me. I was on 6mgs a day. Yes 60mgs. 30 bars. My doctor prescribed me 2mg Xanax a day. She said it would just be for 2-3 weeks until the anti-anxiety medication kicked in. She did not tell me the next 6 months of my life would be hell trying to quit. The panic attacks I got trying to quit were 10X worse than any panic attack that I had before.

Xanax is usually prescribed for it's almost instant anti-anxiety properties. It doesn't take a few weeks to start working. One pill is all it takes. They can even be taken during a panic attack and are commonly prescribed for that because they work so well.
There are plenty of anti anxiety medications that do take a few weeks to work. Most are non Benzos though.

I got Xanax prescribed by a doctor for anxiety. I had never even heard of Xanax. Was fully hooked after the first bar. I did them for about 9 months. Most of that time was a complete blackout. Wrecked a car, lost a job, went to jail and even pissed the bed a time or two. So I decided to quit cold turkey. I went from have hundreds of milligrams in my system to zero. Was the worst 2 weeks of my life. Have never been so sick and literally thought I was gonna die. The irony is, I took them for anxiety and the addiction and all the bs that comes with it caused way more anxiety. I really can’t believe that doctors put people on that drug everyday.

The issue with severe depression and anxiety is that when people tell you to do exercise you don’t have the confidence or motivation to do so and the longer it goes on the worse it gets and the harder it is to do that, feels like you’re stuck in a deep hole and it just keeps getting deeper

It feels like a hopeless cycle of guilt and shame but don’t give up! say your affirmations/prayers/manifestations and keep pushing💯Trust me it’s tough thinking about the big picture/end goal when you can barely get out of bed or brush your teeth but when you hit rock bottom the only way is up🙏You don’t gotta become some body builder, just focus on making ONE small tiny change at a time. I remember quitting Xanax my first week at college in 2013. I had taken adderal and Xanax every single day in high school as my doctor prescribed. I still remember withdrawing in my dorm room, forcing myself to go to the library to study, and literally hearing sounds and voices in my head in the quiet library. Took about 3 weeks to feel “normal” after 4 years of every day use. I would go on to substitute alcohol for the Xanax for the next 3 years until I quit drinking cold turkey too. That was much harder, took 5 months clean before I felt better and not in a mind fog. Sober life is boring but life gets boring as you get older anyway.

First off it depends on how much MG Xanax u were taking. I had a seizure taking 4-5 Xanax a day and decided to go cold turkey. The worse mistake ever. Xanax is a med where u NEED TO WEEN or taper off of. Even an ER doctor told me that. If you are just taking 1 mg it shouldn’t. 4-5 bars a day and cold turkey u will go into a seizure and the only way to counter that is take a bar and u will snap out of it.

I was prescribed a cocktail of meds for my PTSD and it helped rid me of the pain of it in the short term. 8 years after the initial prescription I felt it was time to come off. I think the point of what the doctor is saying is that these medications are over prescribed which I think they are.

I had taken Xanax for 10 years! I’m two years sober now. I had to gradually get off them with small dose or tiny pieces also I found Rhodiola and Ashwagena worked wonders for my anxiety, not having a panic attack, and overall withdrawal. First year was uplifting momentum for being strong enough to know to get out now. And year 2 here I am researching chemical reaction and effects it has on the mind and body. I think that’s awesome about GABA because I started taking supplements for my chemical imbalance and Gaba I take daily. I miss the high of being “Happy” all the time. I was addicted to instant gratification. I had to re learn my emotions again because I had forgotten what it was like to feel anything other than happy. Someday I want to write a book. The toll it has on your mind and body is something I never saw or heard about to anyone who has got off Xanax. My dad was schizophrenic. He would hallucinate sometimes, but mostly it manifested as severe crippling depression, the kind where he was practically catatonic. After his first suicide attempt via overdosing on his meds, he lost his job. Later mom left for another man because she couldn't handle working 2-3 jobs anymore just to make ends meet, and honestly I couldn't blame her, though I sure as hell tried to. Shit was fucked up. But from the lowest point of his life he got back up on his feet and made something of his life again. He seemed...maybe not exactly happy but content with his life. Then one day he decided he felt so good about himself and where he was at that he went off his meds without anyone knowing. A week later he shot himself in the heart. He didn't come back from that.

Which anti psych out of curiosity? I was given an anti-psych for an extreme migraine in the hospital, just one dose. It gave me RLS for 3 weeks, for every hour of the day. And it also gave me extreme dysphoria, I felt like I was on a bad trip for those whole 3 weeks.
Fast forward a year later - another extreme migraine. When I get to the hospital I let them know "No anti-psychs". And what do they do? They IV me one. Two minutes pass and I turn to my sister with tears in my eyes and tell her I think they gave me one. She didn't believe me at first, but after another minute half my face was drooping and my leg muscles tightened so hard my fucking leg almost broke. So it gave me dystonia for a couple days. Had to stay on the cardio floor because my resting heart rate was 150-180 resting. They treated me like royalty those few days, I was on fentanyl+ativan almost 24/7.
I'm not a very vocal person, so I didn't try to take action against the hospital. But that whole hospital visit was essentially free, so I'm not complaining.
Anyways my body chemistry is very weird. I'm hyper sensitive to DXM, cannabis makes me vomit profusely, and a lot of other things. I just wish I could remember what medication they gave me so I can put it on my record/file not to ever administer it again. Aside from that, the only drug I take daily is morphine/other opiates. Fortunately (and unfortunately) opiates are the only drug I don't get extreme side effects from.

The problem with joes simple take on ssri's is the semantics of the word "depression". Depression is a normal human emotion, you lose a loved one or a job and you feel sad. This is not what ssri's are for. Major Depressive Disorder aka Clinical Depression is an entire different ball game and is a medical emergency. Dramatic biological and physical effects that make simply getting out of bed near impossible let alone being productive or going to work. Thats why it is so simple for the 95% of the population who have never had clinical depression to say "ahhh just toughin up think positive"... I assure you if that was possible these people would do so. Imagine being surrounded by billions of dollars puppies and the people you love the most and feeling no joy and all you have is dizziness mind fog and gut wrenching hopelessness. Thats what clinical depression is, its not effected by your life situation or thinking patterns. Its a biological disorder where the feeling of calm or joy is impossible to experience. Its an isolating nightmare I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy, like sinking into an abyss and nobody can pull you out as you spiral down. For these people with the actual medical condition of mdd/clinical depression, ssri's are a life raft in the darkest of seas. If you dont understand what I am saying consider yourself lucky you arent in the percentage of people who have to go through that living hell.

Depression is like sharing a room with a giant black bear. Can't play dead like one would to get rid of a grizzly, it must be fought. Some days you'll wake up with that black bear sitting right on your chest and it won't move an inch if unless you fight. You're still fighting a wild animal that outweighs you by 800 pounds, but even putting up a small fight will make it back off a little. That bear will never go far, but you don't have to let it eat you, there are options out there.

Very insightful. Everything is subjective. With todays rampant sin/cruelty apathy is a go to for egophiles and average people alike. Pathy must be pounded into many people with a sledgehammer, or putting them in that position so they can feel it. Not everyone of course....but trends are not built on humanity.....it's virtue signaling, short term reward, applying labels, shifting blame....etcetera. Net benefit for me and F U because your problems must be self induced. A common social construct among populations (whom are no longer the ones creating social constructs) is that all fixes are available to those whom attempt to seek them as our countries are superiour so F everyone and I will just work to prove how virtuos I am. BS. In my country it is an absolute socialist illusion that fools everyone.
Your description of this disorder is excellent however it was required that you deliver it in a way that a child could grasp it.....would anyone even bother reading it all? Everyone is already so great and brilliant that many I would bet would immediatly feel superiour......I'm really guessing here, but we do have serious problems ingrained in society threw engineered constructs.

youre not understanding what Joe is saying. There may be imbalance chemically in the sufferers of depression but there are many many other means to achieve improvement on there mental health that don't involve taking a serious medication with serious side effects and also can generally out perform these drugs. Unfortunately it's the fact that a pill is easier to swallow then making serious lifestyle changes like beginning to exercise, getting a healthy diet, enough sleep, sun exposure etc etc.

Exactly. I was prescribed them and left to my own devices for a decade. A periodic evaluation with a “professional” was required in order for the prescriptions to be refilled but it was more of a checkbox activity. At the time I trusted them and the process. You really do have to take hold of your own healthcare. Medical “professionals” in most cases can’t be trusted either due to lack of knowledge of lack of caring for the patient unfortunately. After a decade I was able to come off them with awful side effects. But these were something I shouldn’t have been on longer than 6-12 months just to get me through PTSD which was triggered by a terrible divorce I was going through and not some chemical imbalance or mental health issue.

I was on escitalopram (SSRI) for almost a year. It made it difficult to sleep, it barely worked, it destroyed my attention span, and the physical withdrawals were disgusting. I kept getting this nauseating electric shock sensation throughout my body every 20-30 seconds for a few weeks after stopping
I recently started self-medicating with marijuana edibles after it became legal here in Canada, and I've noticed a dramatic improvement in almost every aspect of my life. My stress and anxiety is reduced. My attention span has improved dramatically. It's as if I've gone back to having as much energy as I did in my early teen years. This is just from having a 10mg dose every couple days to keep a baseline amount in my system over time. I'm not even getting high.

Lexapro withdrawals made me absolutely lose my shit. I took 10mg a day (sometimes 15mg) for a year, and it helped me a bit for about 2 months. After that it was just side effects so I went off them cold turkey. The next 2 weeks of my life were absolute hell. Fevers, insomnia, insane mental instability (crying to laughing hysterically within minutes), terrible mental fog, just to name a few. All of that just from an SSRI 😳. I cannot imagine what benzo withdrawals would be like...
I self medicated with indica THC oil for a bit, but eventually every single experience I had would turn into wild paranoia, even if I took as little as 10mg of THC...
Nowadays working out, meditation and journaling keep me relatively sane. Hopefully THC still does the job for ya, anxiety can be incredibly overwhelming at times.

He’s absolutely right about how horrific Benzo addiction is - I’ve been through it and go through it now bc of panic disorder and just weaning off a little bit is complete hell
That said, breathing techniques are total junk science for real panic disorders and have been shown to be ineffective in several studies
Most people don’t know what real anxiety and panic is and have no frame of reference. Unless you’ve gone to the ER thinking you’re dying , you don’t know what a panic attack is. And unless you’ve had a panic attack so bad that you ran away into the bathroom freaking out in a grocery store due to how intense the attack is, you can’t grasp panic disorder
I know I couldn’t until it happened to be. Breathing techniques are useless there. The only real things that help are a) benzos for immediate relief b) exposure therapy which is hard and few doctors know how to execute it (dr Claire weeks wrote a book about it in the 60s and she experienced it so any sufferer who reads her book knows it’s legit by the way she describes it)
Real anxiety is not just feeling nervous and uncomfortable in social situations because you’re awkward and lack confidence. It’s not that normal nervousness of knowing you have to present to a huge crowd at work.
It’s a fight or flight adrenaline dump that can’t be comprehended until you experience it

I don’t think most people have had one anywhere near close to that - and they just don’t know any better (lucky them)
The ones you’re describing - my first one ever was like that, and then since then it was only whenever I’d smoke weed that they could completely take me over like that - for up to four hours at a time.
Just one panic attack rolling into another. Tracked it on my Fitbit too.
Completely terrifying experience. Absolutely horrifying and frankly I think death is better because at least death just takes you - rather than steeping your in fear for hours like some kind of unholy tea bag.
I clocked 210/105 or something like that one night in the midst of a bad one after a little tiny piece of a thc gummy and a couple glasses of wine. Chewed and aspirin immediately.
Anyhow I don’t bother trying weed anymore. Used to be fine, then it wasn’t. Then I tried microdosing because I thought confronting the fear could be therapeutic - and that worked for a time. Until I had just a teeny bit too much and it didn’t.

@@Merknilash holy smokes man! Your blood pressure was 210/105!!?
That’s insane. You must’ve felt terrified and awful.
May I ask what they did for you at the hospital. If you feel up to it, I wouldn’t mind reading the entire process, from when you walked in to the moment you walked out of there.
The weed induced attacks happen often to people who used to smoke a lot say as a youth, but quit for a time and went through some serious medical issues, or other traumas which then comes in to cause these heavy episodes from marijuana.
I go through minor attacks when I smoke sometimes (twice a month about for smoking), but they are no where near that bad and are all in my head.
I found that the only times I am able to smoke marijuana and enjoy it is when I have benzos and booze on board. And I either go straight to bed or have something to occupy my mind like music or film.
Have you ever heard about microdosing?

    • @Merknilash
      @Merknilash 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@tysonsimmons2295 I didn’t go to the hospital - I went once years and years ago (2008) when I woke up with a bad panic attack and didn’t know what was happening to me
Doc tried to tell me it was SVTs or some crap - which it wasn’t - and that I was fine
On the occasion where my home reader said 210/105 - that was with my heart rate pounding at 150-160
I chewed an aspirin and took 4x my usual dose of Xanax and it calmed down
But yep that’s my history - used to smoke Schwag from 15 to early 20s and I can barely even smell the stuff without it sending me on an insanely strong panic attack
I tried micro dosing but it just didn’t matter so I gave up - sadly
But I suspect a lot of my issues are due to a 10 year + low dose Xanax dependency. Even at only .25mg or less per day (usually .125) it’s enough to make the brain so sensitive to stimulants that anything can set you off

i started going to therapy and that helped and also taking an SSRI that is helping which I don't intend on staying on long term. my mood is drastically better, i found a new job i can do and although my desire to exercise hasn't come back yet, I'm sure it will in due course.

This is someone who doesn’t think adults can make up their own minds about how to treat their mental issues. These drugs are able to help people suffering chronic and debilitating anxiety illnesses when nothing else works. We can’t help our genes, and if our parents have high amounts of cortisol we will too. They’re used quite safely, and it’s nearly impossible to actually die of an overdose on a benzo unlike opioids. It’s people like this who make it harder for doctors to help sufferers who could be living functional lives on medications.

Run, lift weights, yoga, hit a punching bag have a lot more sex anything to get a work out. Another big one is fulfill goals you set for yourself even small ones. You’ll start to realize how you never see things all the way through. One more huge thing to keep you happy Is be humble (you’re no better or worse than anyone else) and help your fellow human beings for their sake not for anythingin return besides the good feeling of helping someone. I went from heroin addiction being on the streets for a little while to having a pretty awesome life and I accomplished that in a year after getting of dope. What’s your excuse now, besides you don’t want to put in the work. I know everyone listening to this has some kind of warrior spirit in them. Harness it and rise out of the hole you’re living in. I took Xanax for the first time I think half way through the year. And I didn’t feel hooked. I took it only when my friend would because for some idiotic reason I didn’t want him going at it alone. We would black out plenty of times. At one point my girlfriend snapped a picture of us drooling on a park slide. My friend and I popped a cab or two every other week. There was a point where we took two per day for about three days straight. And these were prescription grade. But one thing was weird. One thing I will always be thankful for, is I never suffered withdrawal. I never got dependent. It was all just popping a pill with my friend. Until one day I just said, I’m done. And it’s been that way with everything I’ve touched. Weed. Xanax. Oxy. Random Alcohol. Etc. I just don’t have dependency. I am ashamed I even went further than alcohol, but am glad I was raised by an ex addict. Because the one thing that is always drilled into my head, is to not succumb to that addiction. It’s been a shitty young life. Already had a rough few years. So bad I’ve had many mental breakdowns and manic episodes. But somehow, drugs won’t ever take me. Some have said to be careful because that’s when you get dependent, when you feel you can’t. But anything I pick up, I put down without pain. And I am so thankful for that. Plenty of my friends cannot. Including my dear brother. My most trusted friend who experimented with me, still can’t stand life without drugs.

I take Sertraline for my anxiety and have taken it for years now. I can honestly say that my ability to control my anxiety is FAR better than what it used to be. I used to have panic attacks on a daily basis and now the worst I get is a little nervous before giving a presentation or going on a roller coaster.
So if you are taking antidepressants realize that YES they do work, but not for everybody. Don’t use antidepressants unless absolutely necessary. And if you are current taking them don’t just go cold turkey on them. They take two weeks to work usually and if after a month you are still experiencing extreme levels of anxiety or depression, then consider changing your medication or looking for an alternative method. If you are prescribed Xanax only use it when you feel it’s absolutely necessary.

Xanax addiction, specifically withdrawals is terrifying. Anti depressants however completely changed my life. Developing PTSD changed the chemistry in my brain and I struggled for 10 years and almost died. I exercised too and it did nothing in the way of actually really helping. I developed a serious mental illness. I was not just feeling a little “not good”. I hate how people who obviously have no idea what serious clinical depression or other mental illnesses feel like talk about the dangers of these life saving drugs or say just exercise. It’s obnoxious. Im sure there are certain side effects and dangers, in fact I know there are but if it’s that or feeling the way I felt than I will choose the medication every time. This is just plain ignorance. That’s all it is. That’s why we talk about and anti depressants and other similar medications as if they are saving lives, because they actually are!!

The panic attacks in my mid 30s were absolutely debilitating and only progressed to a point of agoraphobia before being prescribed Xanax. At the time it felt like a miracle in the shape of a small blue football. The problems started when in my late 40s the habitual alcohol abuse coupled with the Xanax which led to a considerable tolerance of both. Long story short a DUI changed everything for me. A ten year habit of drunk then treating the hangover with Xanax came to an abrupt end. The sobriety reduced the Xanax to only side effects that felt like a perpetual robotic haze. I began reducing the dosage. Yes began because it was a process that is most likely unique to the person. As for me, I found accidently, that the use of concentrates had a profound effect and still do. Not as a replacement therapy! It really has the ability to address ones perception of what use to be triggers for anxiety or panic attacks. I'm sure if some have made it this far in my babbling the eyebrows are squeezing closer together. The emphasis here is cannabis concentrate. Not flower, although it has it's place as well. Concentrates. I don't have the science behind it but simply, for me, the two have a much different effect. I realize not for everyone but this with a splash of meditation has given me freedom. Freedom from a cycle that cost me ten years of real fatherhood with my daughter and untold $$$$$. I'm not an expert, I'm just sharing my experience. First time doing so but hey if anyone benefits, great! Peace and Humptiness!
