I am so grateful of finding your channel! I have a monotone voice that I want to improve so badly😅, and I had no idea of how until I came across your videos.
Thank you for this video. I use a streetlight to set the tone of my voice. Red for angry/intense tones, yellow for worry/shock tones and green for overall positive tones
Man your tutorials are great; Voice and speaking in any environment is important. Thanks again, I still practice your tongue twisters in the shower every morning to warm up for the day lol
I have a natural sarcastic tone (North American), to the point where I can't joke around with most people because they think I'm serious. What I find really interesting is the fact that I can control my tone perfectly with an English accent that there's no question regarding my Expression. The only answer I can come to is that English is meant to be spoken with an English accent. What are your thoughts?
@@ImproveYourVoice Darren, thanks for making the video, I will practice your exercise. In case you're wondering I'm a Canadian from Ontario, but everyone says I sound American. Probably from all the American tv shows and movies I've watched while growing up. Thanks again. --James Ferguson
does having crowded teeth and a tongue that is too wide for the roof of mouth with a jaw that’s set too far back possibly encroaching onto the airways affect your speech ?
I enjoy watching your videos. When you give us examples of you changing the "tone" of your voice, it seems to me that you're also changing pitch (or volume). What about changing the tone while keeping the pitch/volume constant? I have recently signed up to your breath week. It's excellent but it is rather time consuming doing the exercises everyday, as they're supposed to be executed cumulatively. I need to remind myself that it is worth the time, though. Good investment in time. :)
Tone, or rather intonation is a difficult one because it can be merely an attitude also. But to express the actual mechanism of tone I guess pitch and volume often shifts. It’s how it shifts that expresses the attitude I guess. Good observation I shall think more on how I can maybe cover this more holistically. Thanks for sharing. And btw professionals can spend between 30 mins and 4 hours a day keeping their voice limber and in peak condition. That’s what makes their voices so good!
A month in now with the challenge. There's not much progress I can hear but I'll stick to it because it's only been a month. I found when listening to myself, I sound so monotonous. I'll try "coloring" my voice in the next month and see what improvements that will make two months in. Thanks!
Wow well done for maintaining consistency, that's awesome. What did you set as your goal and what markers have you laid out for tracking your progress? Maybe some videos would be worth repeating and adding to your own best routine?
@@ImproveYourVoice blue! I have a voice over to do which required me to have an excitement tone, but I couldn't do that without motivation. So focusing on my favourite colour (Azure Blue) will definitely get me through it!
I’ve recently felt like I’ve forgotten how to even speak properly. The tone in my voice sounds all over the place, sometimes it’s deep, average, and other times (typically in tense situations) my voice sounds nasally. I feel like I forgot to work the muscles in my throat to even speak naturally. I know it sounds weird but I’m hoping you could give me advice.

English intonation is flexible. It is tough for speakers of tonal languages, like Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai.
i would like to work more on voice how to speak from chest diaphragm and nose

Ive been told my voice is sharp. I dont know how to change it.
Sharp sound now like your delivery and not your voice itself right?
@@ImproveYourVoice yes
I like really the idea but I can't do it because my family are with me...they would think I lost my mind.
Your choice! Could up not tell them?
@@ImproveYourVoice of course I can.. You are right I 'll tell them.

I'm confused.
What exactly are we looking to achieve here?
Well not clarity it would seem! How about more options?
It was going great until you tried selling me a course 😂
