    Great Video: For viewers in a hurry: Here are the tips. Tip One: Relax your muscles, especially if you exercise. Counter muscle tension with relaxation work, massage, rollers, whatever relaxes your muscles. Tip Two: Stop holding your belly in! Breathe in through the belly, letting it rise with air before you speak. Quit being self-conscious about belly breathing. Tip Three: Replace negative talk & thinking with positive speech & thinking. Tell yourself, "I am confident when I speak." STOP SAYING YOU DON'T SPEAK WELL! Replace those thoughts and speech with positive opposites. TIP FOUR: Stop chewing gum. It tenses the jaw muscles. Massage jaws after chewing food. And cut out the chewing gum habit. TIP FIVE: PRACTICE SPEAKING. Read out loud when you're alone. Talk to people on the phone. The more you practice, the better you'll get. FOR THE BONUS TIP: SKIP TO 6:55. it's really good.

    Any specific exercise for Recitation Sir?

  • @EnjoyMath
    @EnjoyMath 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Excellent points Sir. Daily Practice is the key. An observation from my experience is that it also matters what we are reading aloud daily. If u specialize in speaking on science topics but reading aloud daily about general topics, it does not help much in terms of getting in to the skin of what you actually have to speak about. Is this a correct inference Sir?

    • @ImproveYourVoice
      @ImproveYourVoice  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there will be near associations made with mouthing general terms in your field I agree. You're a math person I'm guessing?

    • @EnjoyMath
      @EnjoyMath 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Sir. Not just the general terms in each field, but also the required voice tone , mood, humour level may be different.Too much cheer in a serious topic or too less of it in a comic speech may boomerang. It would be v.useful if you give some tips on how to modulate one's voice according to the topic to be spoken about ,without losing original traits of the voice. Thanks a lot Sir.

    The voice training exercises was one of the areas I’m trying to enhance & your explanation is clear, concise & complimentary targeting focus and discipline. I need to watch ore options & definitely repeat watch to reinforce those pointers 😅
    You asked for feedback on alternative areas; how about contracts?
    I ask as I was essentially used and abused as it were whilst recording a meditation tape at a studio. The girls got me to sign a contract which I did & lost sight of it 🥴 I’m sure the tapes been used multiple times already but without my permission & who knows where?
    Suggestions and advice on gen areas would be much appreciated

    I found your channel a few days ago and have watched many of the videos about articulation and warm ups. I wrote down the ones that I can do on my 30 min drive to work each morning. Today I was stopped at a red light with cars on either side of me as I was making the crazy faces found in How to Articulate Better th-cam.com/video/qWP0vFTKx4Q/w-d-xo.html and at least 1 of the 2 saw me and probably thought I was having a fit or something! @arleen123100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before you speak or sing, breathe in to fill your tummy instead of breathing in making your shoulders go up. You can practice this by lying down or standing up. Put your hands on your tummy and breath in. When you breathe in you should feel your tummy expanding like a balloon. Your shoulders and top half of your body should stay still and should not move. When you take a breath to speak or sing or in between words, try and breath filling your tummy with air like balloon and not tensing your shoulders. It will help to speak for longer and with singers it helps to relax before harder notes and to hold notes. Hope that helps!! X

      arleen123100 that’s 50%good advice but Ill have to correct you on the belly thing. Sorry 😁

    • @ImproveYourVoice
      @ImproveYourVoice  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mayank Singh Bisht hi mate. The thing is to breathe into your back and allow space for your ribs to move. There might be something postural in this if you have difficulty. Don’t aim to breathe into the belly because without guidance this will most likely make you arch your back, therefore closing off the flexibility of the rib muscles which will stop you from breathing deeply. Your diaphragm works without continued effort. I have an entire free one week course on breathing if you sign up to my newsletter on my website vocabilities.com
