    I'm a fairly experienced singer. Sang in choral programs mostly as a baritone, and then sang in a few punk/rock/ska bands. To this day, I feel i am a good singer, but my speaking voice is comparatively somewhat hoarse and inarticulate. I've been hoping to cash in on my vocal training and break into voiceover or narrator work. Really enjoying your videos and finding them helpful. Recently I've been doing volunteer narration for Librivox. If I enjoy this enough I may take your class and try to take this hobby to the next level!

    Hi Darren, I didn't quite understand the first exercise. For instance, what is the tongue supposed to be doing? Thank you.

    • @vocabilities
      @vocabilities  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don’t even consider the tongue, but you might find it following the lower jaw down. Imagine there’s a small balloon in your mouth that expands and contracts. Create the movement to follow the size changes so you end up with a pulsating sensation and feel a stretch and release, stretch and release! 💪 does that help?

    • @vocabilities
      @vocabilities  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Practice, adjust, retain, practice, adjust and retrain until it works. Remember it’s just muscle memory so you need to train your unconscious automated machine to change its ways through repetition ! 💪💪💪

    Sir i have a doubt i am watching your videos for the first time.
    But before a month i saw an another video of improving my voice on ‘charisma on command' channel.
    So i am doing grounding exercise and om chanti exercise.
    Day after day i feel the results my voice become deeper with a high range while doing this exercise daily.
    But when i stopped it for a few days my voice becomes as same as my voice which is one month before.
    The doubt is doing grounding and om chanting exercise will give only a temporary effect or permanent effect.
    If it will give a permanent change in my voice,the how long i should do this exercises.
    Hope you understand my question.
    Thank you ❤️

    • @vocabilities
      @vocabilities  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Articulation will need to be ongoing if you don’t have the muscle strength to support your voice. That said voice work needs to be ongoing long enough until you develop an automated muscle memory that remember the new ways you wish to do something, Find my video for daily warm up and do it daily for a minimum of two months then you’ll begin to see more permanent changes.

    • @vocabilities

    • @vocabilities
      @vocabilities  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your voice gets higher most likely because of current habits that cause tension as you speak. It results in restrictions that make you less resonant. Proper breath support and posture will be a big help with this!
