- The new Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F is essentially attempting to pull off the same trick the Suzuki GSX650F managed when introduced two years ago. But has it succeeded?

Fancy MCN releasing this. Wind noise and a hard to discern clipped-style commentary left me little wiser about these two bikes.
I almost only hear wffffff from wind noise and he pst pst his s's and t's.Bad.Also 0 out of 10.
we all € 0.50 cents to make sure that this gentleman can buy herself a decent microphone
I don't care if they were comparing tricycles, the fact that these blokes rode 100 miles in that shite weather impresses me as an American. Holy Carp!
this is a great down to earth and fair test of both bikes, very important facts are disclosed in the test.we need more tests like this. Thanks for a super honest test well done.
I decided for XJ6 Diversion :)
The GSX650F look really good...
WTF is Motorcycle news distributing shaky cam, wind noise videos, its not hard to make a clean video. Waste of time this, sadly.
Yes I was a tad harsh, just so often MCN videos are poorly made. Appreciate the review anyway.
It's not to his particular fancy: It's to a decent standard where you can hear what's being said.
Harlin67 mal ir. dio
lol your wearing the same coloured bobble hat as I did on my school coach trip when I was in Junior School! I'm loving the Diversion F ofcourse... but that bobble hat takes priority for me at this moment
nice review..like a pro without effects... use some audio mixer, channel normalisation to get rid of the ss sound... the camera does not have a super mic
@darich67 I think that would be salt residue dripping down the side coming off of the front wheel.
Must say results of this review don't surprise me much (and probably won't surprise most), the GSX is a repacked Suzuki Bandit, and that's a bike, comfortable touring bike, much bigger and heavier then the Diversion. the XJ6 is a lot more in the same class with the er6f, or the sv650/gladius etc
Nice video although the sound is not that good. Anyway thanks for sharing.
Excellent review. Very accurate and common-sensed.
@fasttrackpk thats your personal opinion. Saying something is far better is what you think. This is my opinion i hated the 650s riding position over the diversion. Diversion was the best choice i could make.
Can't hear anything...
Wow the XJ6 Looks pretty good for that type of bike !
He must have picked the only GSX650f without ABS.........
i've just bought the yamaha xj6 diversion 2009 "new" from my dealer and it costs £4,500 ..i sat on the 650f and found the bars are too wide and the riding position to be unconfy i'm a big guy at 6"4 and if you decide for a non sports bike ide recommend the xj6..if you can get a 09 version go for it..same bike but without the lower fair and abs..but for over 1k less i'm not complainin.
i don't get why you are always testing the gsx-f 650 instead of the bandit, since the gsx-f 650 is a bandit with a gsx front and no adjustable windshield and seat and without the two little storage cases the bandit has since 2010. If you are testing the touring aspects of these machines, i think the bandit 650s would be a better fit.
agreed though after 4-5hours of riding the GSX650F i get a sore ass other than that i have no complaints. i have no experience on the XJ6 though
the XJ6 have 4 cilinders in line?
How is it on filter though? I'm looking to upgrade my 250 commuter to something that's built to take more k's.
i would def buy the xj6
Holy crap. Almost a year has past. My life, slipping away.
Same
yes it does, its based on the R6 engine
You can actually get the GSX650F in ABS as well. Ask your Suzuki dealer about it
hctseng after 08 models
Im tall 196cm, I like suzuki and i dont knew will it suit me beter. I can get xj6 cheaper in entry level (no spoiler and no abs). Evin model whit abs has lower price.
Please help me because am sirius to bay it.
Sorry my english is not so gut
thanks
I expect far better from a professional body like MCN. For god's sake, spend five quid and get a wind muffler for your microphone.
can you Guys recommend one of these bikes as a beginner bike for me?
***** both
you so dropped the yamaha dude.....damn what a scar 0:10
There's a dirty big scrape on the XJ6 at 10seconds!!
if i'm not mistaken, gsx650f comes only with ABS.
well I´d go 4 the xj6 although the gsx´s selling price is unbeatable
Is that Suzuki packing a cannon?
Bit keen ol boy 😂
"Soft luggage is harder to fit on the Diversion" Well thats complete bullshit. MCN didn't mention 1 positive thing about the Yamaha... This is why I hate your "comparison" videos, you just big up the company that sponsored you the most.
The Suzuki is 230kg? What a lump for a 600!
Shity British weather,
but those guys don't care!
Tom Sykes look-a-like
The Suzuki is a squid wannabe, the engine on the Yamaha is better, more refined and you get better mileage aswell, the steering on the Suzuki is numb feeling and the throttle response seems delayed like the bike needs to think about before it accelerates, overall quality... the Yamaha wins hands down.... as you out it... if you want cheap then get the Suzuki.... get yourself sone flup flops and a tight tee shirt while your at it for the Suzuki..
If you want a reliable decent bike that's great for city riding and has the punch to be a middle weight sport hike then you go for the Yamaha. The Suzuki is a nice bike and yes it may be cheaper.... but then your missing out on the improved more power brakes.... which are abs aswell, and it has a centre stand so you can work on the bike..... that there makes it worth the extra little bit of money... common sense should tell you that.
What is he saying? Lol
suzuki in red colour??...hmmm like ferrari with yellow
I would buy the Yamaha
blah sooo confusing with the different names outta the u.s =/
Good work young man although I have to agree a better mic would help.
