    The best review i have seen on this bike. Im sold and now shopping for this as my first bike, and what a great sound.

    Good honest review. I have had mine for 15 months now as my 1st big bike and I love it. Anyone thinking of getting one, I strongly recommend a centre stand because putting it on a paddock stand is not easy due to weight. As the bike is heavy you don't get blown around on windier days as much. Insurance cost is cheaper as well, in fact my 4 year old (at the time) was cheaper to insure than a one year old CBR250R both bikes were the same price.

      clanmac66 I absolutely love riding the GSX, its a nice change of pace from my 675... even considering getting one as a second bike =P
      I did struggle getting it on the paddock stand first time, I use a slab of wood under the side stand to make the bike more upright before using the stand, its a lot easier =)

      do you think the weight is a big problem for a small person?

    • @clanmac66
      @clanmac66 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter Vrousgos It's nothing to do with how tall you are, but what you are comfortable/confident with. I've now upgraded to 2014 GSX1250FA, 10 kg heavier but a better bike for my needs.

    Nice video man!! I got my self a GSX650F on my A2 Licence, ( throttle is restricted ) but still so much power!
    ride safe man :) .

      +TazaBiker I'll be getting this bike with my A2 licence this year. On a 125cc at the minute so even with a restrictor on it's going to have enough power for me :)

    I've got the 2009 version of this bike (no ABS). Is the seat height higher on the 2012 model? I'm only 5'5" tall, 65 years old, and can reach the ground quite happily (I can put the soles of my feet down but not the whole of my feet!).
    Indeed, this was one of the main reasons I bought the bike - most bike manufacturers nowadays seem to cater for the taller person - they forget there are shorter people out there, and of course, women, who are generally shorter than men. Also, being shorter means I have to lean forward a little more when grasping the handlebars, but I still find the bike very comfortable, even on long journeys.
    I've had the bike for about 7 years now. It still starts and runs like new. The torque in each gear is such that rarely do I have to drop down from 6th to 5th to overtake. If I ever get rid of this bike it will only be to get a newer model, or something similar if Suzuki stop making these.
    The only other bike I had that came close to this was my Kawasaki GPX600R (Ninja 600R) which had roughly the same HP and was comfortable and easy to ride for a short fella like me. Sadly, that bike got written off in an accident many years ago!

    I have a 2015 GSX650F and love it, I would recommend it to anyone, a Sports Tourer an all round comfortable bike that has enough power for most and i think looks great as well. It's all about personal opinion of course but I can't find too many faults with the bike.

    I'm so tempted to get on of these. I've had two GSX750F's but the weight is an issue, but the riding position is better than the 750. Honestly cant make my mind up.

    Awesome review! I’ve been so indecisive on this bike as it’s morelsss a faired Bandit. I’ve always been on “Team Hornet” but this video has definitely got me leaning towards the GSX650F - thank you for that :)

    Awesome review matey! Just what i needed. Not enought on YT of these bikes apart from the Chris Moss review. So...compare it to your ER6 i know you said you'd buy it hands down, but would the weight have put you off?

    • @TheCrazymook
      @TheCrazymook  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paul Medcalf Thanks Paul, in all honesty no the weight isn't enough of a disadvantage to outweigh all the positives this bike has - plus once youre moving the weight isn't such a bad thing, Ive never ridden a bike where Ive felt so planted! =)

    good vid but i have to disagree about filtering,i use my gsx every day and find it very easy in heavy traffic and you are right it has plenty of presence on the road.a great bike for anyone from novice to experienced biker.

    Hello.
    Do you remember if you took the exhaust straight off and didn't put anything on. I own one, and wanna take that bazooka looking exhaust off. Should I just take it straight off and start riding or do I need a replacement (is it bad for the bike to not have an exhaust)?

  • @arctic1758
    @arctic1758 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have been riding the gsx650f for a fair amount of time(bare in mind im 6ft2 so you may disagree with some points im about to make) the weigjt for me personally isnt an issue at all, especially once you get going, filtering isnt actually that much of a problem despite the size i fit through most gaps, the engine on this bike is amazing overall a great bike I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has little experience but if u got more than two years of riding experience u should be fine

  • @Moro9532

    Silly question perhaps, but how is the wind protection? I ask because I'm considering swapping my Bandit 650 N for this one since the wind doesn't do very well for my neck injury, especially on a highway.

    • @Deadwindshadow
      @Deadwindshadow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's really not bad. I ride supermoto therefore I wear a dirtbike helmet with the visor and it doesn't catch too much at 60 mph.
      TL:DR : Good wind protection.

    I am thinking of getting one of these after I hopefully pass my A2, just need to know if it is easy to control at slower speeds, also is the bike easy to heft around? As I am not the strongest person around

    I haven't got a licence, nor am I anywhere near going to get one. I am 100 percent certain I want a bike, but I am just not sure whether the power would be worth a starter bike. I am Australian, and there is a version which replaces the motor and brings down the speeds a bit, but would that be worth enough? Is it too powerful for someone who is completely inexperienced with motorcycles?

    • @exonusgod
      @exonusgod 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a new rider power is only dangerous if you use it or could use it. If you want a good starter as 650 is always a good option as they're forgiving but have enough power to keep you entertained. Also starting on a big bike weight wise gives you alot more confidence later. I have a 50cc throw around sm and I love it.... but it never scares me and gets me cocky with other bikes because you can never get in trouble on it. A good starter bike is one that's not going to bore you after a year, so a 650 restricted is a good idea for when you get a learning licence and then derestricting it for your full licence :) Hope my essay helped

    • @sbv2162
      @sbv2162 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheCrazymook yea I agree with you about looking at other things :) ER6 is still fun :) The only reason I asked about the Scorp can is I can pick it up for £220 new and wasn't sure to save the money and get the Scorp or throw more money at it and get a 2Bro's shipped in...........but I think I'll save the money and go for the Scorp since I'll be upgrading once I come off my A2 :) Thanks bro :) and I can't wait to see your 675 back on the street, especially with the sexy image the GoPro has lol :)

      Is it the Stainless Scorpion for 220? If so that's pretty good - I bought mine new for £250 =)
      With the baffles out it sounds pure evil and with them in it gives it a nice tone - win win!

    I've had mine about a month and love it. My second bike after a couple of years on a Harley Iron 883 but just wanted something with a bit more power. Forgive the noob quezzie but it looked like you didn't clutch it when you did the 0-60???

    • @TheCrazymook
      @TheCrazymook  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, clutchless upshifts on the 0-60.. much quicker ;)

    The 675 is 182KG....This bike's 241KG.
    That's 59KG's heavier. Not exactly a 100, now, is it?

  • @MrEminemrules92
    @MrEminemrules92 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm still choosing between this a Bandit 600 and a Yamaha FZ6 S2 for my A2. They all seem to be good bikes but I'm leaning to the FZ6 because of the underseat exhausts :D

    • @CBRroyal382
      @CBRroyal382 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ethan Senior I do not know about FZ6 but bandit 600 is a really good bike. Passed my A2 in march and bought it straight after and I love it to bits. Go over 6000rpm and it just scares you if you are not used to i4s. SV650 is also a great bike, if you are into V-twins but m gonna be honest, I bought bandit 600 coz I love the sound and the feel when you twist that throttle. Whatever you buy, test ride it first if possible.

    • @TheCrazymook
      @TheCrazymook  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ethan Senior Yeah Im totally with you on the FZ.... those exhausts look mean! Have you considered the Honda Hornet?

    • @MrEminemrules92
      @MrEminemrules92 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never seen a Hornet! :O I shall go and have a look at the reviews :D Especially with SP Engineering exhausts! Mmmmmmm... sound is just of the scale :O

    • @CBRroyal382
      @CBRroyal382 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ethan Senior just saw the specs of FZ6 S2 and it makes 98hp, you cannot ride it on A2 :( maximum allowed is 94hp which has to be restricted to 47hp :/ same goes for hornet as it makes over 94hp.
      a2bikes.co.uk/ try this site if you haven't already.
      Edit: S2 is the only one that makes 98hp, standard models are fine with A2 :|

      DNM - Matt I just bought one last Sunday. The bike is heavy when sitting still but it's actually not hard to balance. After you start rolling it is very easy to turn & balance. I am 6'0 & around 220 pounds so I'm not huge & I manage the bike fine. I love it...my bike is on my channel I just started. I just ordered new fairings exactly the color in this video. After that I am putting new exhaust on. Good luck & get one!
