Bf4 getting only an A seems as crazy as rating 2142 as an S for me. I still play it to this day it is the best modern setting boots on the ground battlefield experience it beats bf3 in that category hands down imo because its more refined like you yourself pointed out in the video. The destruction, vehicles and gunplay still hold up to this day and thats where i go to get my modern battlefield fix. The only critisism i can level at it is that the melee system sucks but i rarely do melee anyway so its not that big of a deal for me.

Another unpopular opinion: I think BF5 is better than BF1. Majority of the bf5 maps are dukey but idk the gameplay feels much better than bf1 imo. I try so many times to get into bf1 but everytime I play it feels too loose or clunky
I couldn’t agree more with your take on Bf1. It’s so visceral and immersive, and I know that everybody says that but that’s because it’s true. Yes the shooting mechanics are very unique and the sniping specifically is maybe a little too casual, but it fits the time period so perfectly it just adds to the immersion so well. Getting hit center mass with a Martini Henry in 1917 would absolutely spell certain doom for any poor sod stupid enough to crawl out of the trenches and run through no man’s land. Comparing 1’s atmosphere and gritty feel to that of 5’s is absolutely night and day. BF1 deserves to be S tier, and deserves to be at the very top of S tier. Good tier list soldier 🫡
Amazing work with all those details you mentioned and clips you put in. Battlefield V is one of the first Ray Tracing games (maybe the first) which make it kinda important for the industry. BF V has a lot of ups and downs but I don't think C tier is fair for that title. Thanks for your great work!
Finally someone who acknowledges how vital BF2 was. One of the handful of games I could truly consider world changing for FPS, and honestly gaming culture, easily on par with Halo: Combat evolved, Doom, and COD 4 and 5 in terms of how much it deserves to be considered legendary. BF2 was a legendary game, and still my favorite BF, one of the greatest video games ever

Your list is correct. Started my battlefield career with BF2 and BF2142 simultaneously, right after I got a gaming PC when 2142 came out. I was horrible at both games, but my god they were so amazing. Best time I've ever had in a shooter. I feel like no BF has come close to the vastness feeling of BF2. BF1 is a close 2nd for me, which I'm currently still playing everyday, with 2142 being 3rd. I have half a mind to get another gaming PC and start playing BF2 and BF2142 again lol (are they even still supported?????)

Despite it’s many many flaws, 2042 is not a trash tier at all, I think you’re overexaggerating here. I don’t know when was the last time you played it but the game has insanely improved since launch. I have more than 800 hours in 2042 since the early days and I must say that at lauch it would be a D-tier, now after many updates, bug fixes, content drops, reworks, optimalizing, it’s a C-tier. No way 2042 should be in the same tier as those joke-of-a-games Heroes and Play4Free.

Bad Company 2 had one flaw. The campaign. I loved multiplayer and played the ass out of it, but the campaign was a ripoff of MW2. It's jarring to go from the "Three Kings"-like story about the gold and 4 stooges derping around Eastern Europe and risking their lives to get rich, but then switch to a darker, serious tone with really no relation to the first game besides a random conversation, when idle, about "what happened..." I liked the first BC online "story" implying that word got out about gold and both sides are battling to get rich and AWOL the fuck out of there. After losing a match and hearing "Damn it! Now we are stuck working for the Army!" always made me chuckle.
everything what you said on BF3, BF4 and BF2042 is 100% fact. BF4 is a perfection of BF3, but man do the maps suck compared to BF3. And yes, Dice is no longer the Dice that can make battlefield games. Those developers have left years ago.
my tier list S- bf3, bf4, bf2142 A- bf2, bfbc2, bf1 B- 1942 c- bf vietnam bf5 d- BFH, 2042 3 had amazing map design, graphics and gameplay that stand up today 4 had the best customization of all the franchise, go to any youtube comments about weapons and its never agreed on whats best, massive variety carried this game, also my personal favorite gunplay in the franchise. little biased by 2142 and 2 were my childhood but 2142 was the most balanced battlefield game, nothing was op nothing sucked, also had a more gloomy atmosphere that hasnt really been seen since, titan mode was the goat, and a lot of gadget customization. bf2 was awesome and i pay respects to it, however it had what was probably the most imbalanced gameplay of any battlefield, gunplay could be wonky, grenade spam was insane could kill tanks with those, and air balance was the worst in the franchise, commander would keep you perma map spotted with the ENEMY Spotted constantly going off blaring in your headset got annoying, no safe spawns because commander mode so people would just waltz in and steal your jets. however battlefield would not be where it is today without it and even other game titles like squad would be spawned by the influence of bf2 and by extension project reality. also had arguably the best maps of any bf in the franchise bf1 was amazing with the atmosphere, but the theme wasn't for me bfbc2 was solid but what holds it back for me was its limitation on PC players because console priority gadda pay respect for 1942 for starting this amazing franchise i liked Vietnam but like bf1 it wasnt for me bf5 was mediocre, it would eventually start to be on the road to a good game but dice pulled the plug before it could do that 2042 needs no explanation i never played BFH outside of the beta but it was a interesting take, however it was not a battlefield title and if it didnt have the battlefield title it would have been fine thank you for reading from this old bf vet, happy hunting
I played every single battlefield, and the tierlist is quite accurate but to my taste: S tier: BFBC2, BF2,BF3,BF4 A tier: BF1, BF2142, BFV B tier: BF1942, BF Vietnam, BF1943, BF2042 (Absolute trash at start and did many things wrong but regained itself a little bit) C tier: BF2 modern combat, BF Bad Company D tier: Hardline(Its very solid but not a BF game) Trash: BF Heroes, BF Play4Free(worst bf game i played) The ideal game for me would be, a Battlefield game with the destruction and feeling of BFBC2, the management system of BF2, The graphics of BFV and experimental modes like the titan mode in BF2142 for example. BF2042 really fucked up, trash specialist system, Maps horrible, You can tag the enemy that killed you when you die which is ridiculous, you can see the glance of a sniper from accros the map...., a game pure based on solo play in its majority. They left so many great systems out that they had in the previous games. Oh and they should quit the subscription crap and just keep it to expansions with all the rest unlockable by gameplay.
BF3 is quite of disappointment from me. Growing up with BF2 (despite playing it in internet cafe) and jump right to BF3, I see how far the gameplay was, seeing how casual it was. Blue filter made me nauseous. It bothered me so much that I'd switch BF3 for BF4. Not to mention excessive lightings in some occasion. It also introduce meat grinder maps. And to top that all, no offline game in MP maps. And taking nitpick route, I am very disappointed for the lackluster factions. I was remembering how BF2 got USMC, PLA, and fictional MEC, and then adding US Navy SEAL, MEC SF, SAS, Spetsnaz, Rebel, and Insurgents, and hoping BF3 could take some of them. But no, there are only Russia and US. Jeez, not even the opposing force we faced in SP? Iranian military could get some spotlight as a new OPFOR. Plus, Russian speaking English. Why? BF2 with native language and "subtitle" in chat box was spot on. Russian's one liner is as if not more cringe than BF2042's operator one liner. Another reason to switch BF3 to BF4. In the end, I think the one who deserves the S tier, beside BF2 and BF1 (I don't play BFBC2 much, though), is BF4.

@@Punggles I didn't test it when it first come out. But I put it on C because it was basically a downgrade of BF3, and BF3 was also a downgrade of Bad Company 2. So BF4 is a great game but for the Battlefield series it's not that great ! And it's also more arcade in it's gameplay. For the online the better Battlefield is bad company 2.

For me BFV is on D (it's really near trash), Bf4 is on C and Hardline is on C. I judge these game while being neutral not emotional

@@Punggles I didn't test it when it first come out. But I put it on C because it was basically a downgrade of BF3, and BF3 was also a downgrade of Bad Company 2. So BF4 is a great game but for the Battlefield series it's not that great ! And it's also more arcade in it's gameplay.
For the online the better Battlefield is bad company 2.

BF3 is B at most. 2142 is definitely A or S.
Kinda agree. I see it lower since it introduces meat-grinding maps. And it created a simpler gameplay.
