  • Brigid is an Irish Goddess and has mythology tied to a vast array of topics and ideas. These span from Her relationship to someone outside the Tuatha de, strong connections to the forge and transformation through fire, and being transformed Herself from a Goddess to a Saint.
    But there is always more to the story, and to get that, we have to look back at Her mythology and miracles, both as a Goddess and a Saint.

    Yea your views of her as both the goddess and the saint make a lot of sense to me just because of personal reasons. I remember Brigid first came to me to help and warn me while I was worshiping Christ the Redeemer. So it makes sense that the two would have a working relationship if she appeared to me in that time frame.

    Thank you for these beautiful stories. I am a new pagan and was initially looking at Norse paganism, but I have felt Brigid calling to me. I am of multiple ethnic heritages but among those, I am of English, Welsh, and Irish descent. I also felt her presence during my first observance of Imbolc. My sister is a solitary witch of over 15 years, her son is a Norse pagan and we have discovered that both my mother and her mother were a type of witch but the term for them escapes me at the moment. They didn't openly practice or anything like that but looking back they did things that indicate they were, maybe a hearth witch or a green witch? I'm just not sure since I am still so new and does that honestly really matter? I have a lot of reading to do on my spiritual journey but I'm staying on the path and I feel that Brigid will be my guide.

    I have heard that Celtic Deities are localized, and therefore are harder to connect with if your u live in different areas of the world- may I ask what your view of this is?

    • @RoundtheCauldron
      @RoundtheCauldron  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think it's going to vary based on which Celtic nation you're looking at. As someone from the US that works with and worships Irish deities, I haven't really noticed a difficulty. There are times when the Gods are harder to connect with, so to speak, but They also aren't omnipresent and They have other things to do. I do know that some Irish spirits (deities, fae, and other cultural beings) are landlocked and you likely won't find them outside of the Isle. One example I've heard from my Irish friends that gets kind of complicated is Danu. It's thought that Danu is a being that is the literal embodiment of the island of Ireland, the literal land itself, and would therefore not be found outside the island. However, it gets complicated because now there's a sort of egregore of Danu. I do plan on traveling to Ireland one day to visit the Holy Wells of Brighid and a few other sacred places. I'm curious to know if that connection to her would get stronger or be more easily felt while being on the land of Her origin.

    I was led to Brigid by Hekate (as She tends to do) so I'm curious about her stories. I see many similarities between the two. It seems to me that Brigid is a liminal goddess as well but I'd love to know your opinion.
    For an offering, beer seems like a great start. I have been drawn to the clovers and moss in my backyard...I'm wondering if you can provide insight if the clover is used as an offering? It seems silly to ask but I'm new to her.
    Thank you for this video and stories!

    • @RoundtheCauldron
      @RoundtheCauldron  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Brigid is most certainly a liminal goddess. We can see this in her associations with healing waters, poetry, and the fire of the forge. Of course, she is more complex than just those three subjects, but each one is associated with a different realm in Irish belief: land, sea, and sky. Beer is a good offering for her. I'm not sure about clovers, but most milk products also make good offerings in my experience. These are things like butter, cream, and milk. I also do a lot of acts of devotion as offerings; things like playing music for her, writing poetry, and helping others. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the stories! She's such a complex goddess and I learn more about her every day. If you want to learn more about her and her stories, I recommend the books about her by Morgan Daimler and Courtney Weber. They're wonderful places to start.

    I had a reading and she said goddess Bridget was there with me. What does that mean? I’m so confused. I don’t understand. I’ve never heard of goddess Bridget until that day a week ago.

    • @RoundtheCauldron
      @RoundtheCauldron  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure what that means for that reader, so you'd probably need to ask them. It sounds like they mean the Goddess has been around in your life in one form or another for a while. Some people believe that deities choose the person. Others believe the person chooses the deity. You'd have to explore your beliefs to get a deeper answer.

    Wow you really are thorough!!!! 🤩🕯😇🙏Thank you so very much, I am Irish and my mother reminded me, unnecessarily I have to say because I love Saint Bridget (I live in London now and I have forgotten a lot of Irish stuff and I love London because I believe I had a past life here) and I have a deep connection with her, I prefer to call her Bridget, because I don’t like the way the Catholic Church dressed her as a nun, when you go to get the healing, that’s how she is represented and the statute is as her as a nun because as you know, Because you have done so much research, she was a pagan goddess, pagan is a term like Christianity and there are many forms of it. Such as Wicca and she existed long before Christianity. Unless she came back in some kind of way and appeared to Them and told them that they should do you so in order to keep her alive because most of the Celtic goddesses and gods were discarded when Christianity came with here! Thank you so much for doing this amazing video! Not amazing it is aweamazing!!

      Hi there, nice to meet you. I'm not sure what your comment is insinuating but yes, I do believe in the Irish Gods as well as many others around the world. I understand that, as an American, I have no claim to the Irish culture and I'm not actively claiming any part of it. Reconnecting with my Irish heritage is something that is very important to me and it is one thing that pulled me toward an Irish-focused polytheistic practice. I'm always open to constructive criticism and conversation if you'd like. I hope you have a good day 💖
