2:08 that game actually got in a lot of hot water after release because almost all the voice actors listed in the credits had the last name of one of the developers and I think it was confirmed later that they were all related and the guy just coerced his family members to do a TERRIBLE job for free so that it would be cheaper than hiring multiple voice actors.
He's killed Ms. Piggy, and was trying to escape the police, so he tries to switch bodies with a human. The reason why he has hints of Kermit is because the body is taken by Kermit, and is trying to hide the voice.
Nah dawg, New Vegas really wasn't that bad. A lot of unique NPCs had a single VA, and there were a bunch who did the generic-VA work for the rest. Oblivion, on the other hand...
Quite a bunch of others too. Mr. House is very formal and fitting, Big Sal is the complete opposite and also fitting. Chief Hanlon's performance is great for his long speech. Vulpes Inculta is cool and sleek. Veronica is also nice. As for the DLCs, a lot to choose from; Joshua Graham and Ulysses for their equally epic performances, the five doctors in the Big MT. for the over-the-top sci-fi appeal, Dean Domino for his snarky, sleek speech. Even good old Doc Mitchell sounds nice. I am quite biased, but I gotta say they for the most part did very decent VA.
I hate that scene so much, because the character's name isn't even Nicole. It's Nicolai. The chums that translated Shadow Hearts were bad at their job, but whoever translated that abomination on screen at 2:20 should be banned from working in the industry.
Shulk yelling "I'll kill you!!!" in a British accent near the beginning of xenoblade chronicles 1 was one of the best single lines I've heard. Still chills me

That FFX laughing scene is actually the only place in the game where his voice acting is good. It's spot on. In the scene he's doing an awkward forced laughter that makes everyone look at him like he's nuts. It's very good. It's literally the second after that scene when he cracks up and starts laughing for real that the voice acting goes to shit once more.

Okay, I gotta re-educate people about the Tidus one. First off, the voice actor James Arnold Taylor is amazing! Now, let's get to the moment most talk about. The laughing scene. In that moment he was using forced laughter, the character, trying to elevate Yuna's anxiety. He kept forcing an exaggerated laugh over and over until she goes and does the same thing, eventually they legitimately get tickled over their awful laughs and end up laughing for real. It's very self aware. It's a sweet and honest moment that I don't know how people forget or just use as a fallacy as a bad moment. It's cherry picked out of the scene without the whole context. I've been re-explaining this since the year it came out and I wish.... if just one person reads this and understands it... then my work will continue. Nice video Jakey, keep at it bro!
MrMilkyCoco did you not comprehend what he wrote? Let me explain it again simpler for you. The bad laugh was made to be exaggeratedly bad so that it would seem as ridiculous as it does. They then laugh about how stupidly bad the fake laughs were which lets the main girl forget her anxiety for the moment. How could that be achieved with a normal laugh?
Barry’s voice acting in the original re makes me love this character even more. His dad jokes and those metaphors brings him to life. When I’m playing the remake version I’m even expecting those jokes and memes but all of them got replaced (I guess it’s because capcom want it to be serious) I was so disappointed but then those references in rv2 just make Barry an even more approachable and lovable normal person, like he is literally the dad in the franchise, the bad voice acting is definitely what makes his character even better.

Because they either: A) never actually played/did research on the game and are just parroting what they've heard others say or B) Know it's a forced laugh but are disingenuously using as an example anyway because it's a common misconception thanks to people like them. Either way it means nothing else they can say on the subject can be trusted, because they're either too lazy to do research or deliberating misrepresenting things for clicks.

But if you watch the whole scene and not just a small fraction of it then it's better. Don't get me wrong, Final Fantasy X had pretty average voice acting to begin with, but I would rarely ever call it bad and that scene in particular is basically exactly how it was done in the original Japanese version of the game too, so it's not just a bad English VO
The best voice actor/actor the I know is Rodger Clark. The amount of personality and emotion that he was able to put into his performance for Red Dead Redemption 2 was really impressive.
People who say that FF-X has awfull voice acting just because of the laugh, never played the game. For gods sake, you just need to understand the context of the scene, and know that the laugh WAS SUPPOSED to be akward. The voice actor himself said it, and even the original voice in japonese laughs in a wierd way in that scene, because it IS suposed to be a "forced and wierd laugh".

@@samuelcorbett9797 People who use it as an example of bad voice acting lose all credibility on the subject to me. Because they either:
A) never actually played/did research on the game and are just parroting what they've heard others say
or
B) Know it's a forced laugh but are disingenuously using as an example anyway because it's a common misconception thanks to people like them.
Either way it means nothing else they can say on the subject can be trusted, because they're either too lazy to do research or deliberating misrepresenting things for clicks.

@@lolforlife2487 The take was fine, that laugh is intended to sound forced and awkward, because it IS forced and awkward. They are literally forcing themselves to laugh when they'd probably prefer to cry. But that fake, awkward laugh eventually makes way for actual laughter and it sounds just fine.

@@lolforlife2487 I mean if you've only ever seen the clip out of context in poorly researched segments of bad voice acting videos, yeah. But if you watch the whole scene and not just a small fraction of it then it's better. Don't get me wrong, Final Fantasy X had pretty average voice acting to begin with, but I would rarely ever call it bad and that scene in particular is basically exactly how it was done in the original Japanese version of the game too, so it's not just a bad English VO
The best voice actor/actor the I know is Rodger Clark. The amount of personality and emotion that he was able to put into his performance for Red Dead Redemption 2 was really impressive.

People who say that FF-X has awfull voice acting just because of the laugh, never played the game.
For gods sake, you just need to understand the context of the scene, and know that the laugh WAS SUPPOSED to be akward. The voice actor himself said it, and even the original voice in japonese laughs in a wierd way in that scene, because it IS suposed to be a "forced and wierd laugh".
Yuna even says "you probably shouldn't laugh anymore" because Tidus' forced laugh sounds bad 😭

It really bothers me how often people use that scene from FFX as an example of bad voice acting. 10 year old me knew what was going on when i first played but an endless stream of grown ass adult TH-camrs don't.
