How to Install the August Door Lock 2nd Generation and August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge with iPhone

- We travel quite a bit, so it would be nice to be able to give some dog walkers and different friends and family access to the house without having to make and give out keys. The August Lock with the August Connect add-on seemed like a perfect fit for us. Great video. Your house is like mine. Wall plugs are two prong. That also makes it where most smart light switches will not work because I do not have a ground. This is good to know this does not need a ground. Keep up the good work.

Do you have to push the button on your phone to open it or is there a way for it to know when you are close to the door so it automatically opens for you?
So just to be clear, even though you connected it to Apple homekit, you still have to have August Connect to access it away from home ( assuming you have your Apple homekit connected to an Apple TV 4 ). That kind of sucks...I just bought the August lock and keypad and wasn’t planing to buy the connect since my hub is the Apple TV 4 and figured I would automatically have access away from my home

Finally there's a "Mortise Kit" available, which will also make it compatible with European door locks. However, there seems to be no option to ship it to Europe as of yet!

Will it unlock and lock from inside your house? Or does it always have to be unlocked from you facing the lock?
hi if I don't have the Wi-Fi connection, is that mean I can not control the door if I am away from home?

This is a very good instruction video -- but I don't understand why people want to use the cheesy background music loop. Ugh, I find it distracting, especially as I can hear when the loop stops and starts over. Totally unnecessary -- and distracts from a great video.
The August company that lazy where they can't update their videos. To help out their customers . Sounds like a lazy and more then likely unreliable customer service company to buy from
