    Traded in the 2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road for a 2020 Gladiator. Not one single regret. I know the Tacomas are bulletproof, but I could never get comfortable in the dang thing. Seating position is just terrible. The Gladiator is a blast, and the convertible top is a huge plus. Fun truck for sure.

    Jeep gladiator is the best off road truck out there. I own one myself and I love it.
    It is a bit pricier than Tacoma or ZR2 but those two are boring. Gladiator Rubicon is the coolest truck for lifestyle use.

    There are plenty of 'Jeep/Overlanding' channels and not enough ADV/motorcycle channels sigh...
    I do understand tho. A lot of us sold our bikes when married or after 1st child then got back into it years later. I did, was out for almost 20 years then jumped back in 5 years ago when daughter was in high school.
    Good Luck.

    Beautiful truck, Ian. The first time I saw it in person at an auto show, I knew it was going to be a home run for Jeep. Back in the 90s an uncle of mine had a Jeep Comanche and I thought it was a great little truck. Always wondered why Jeep didn't make a new one. But damn--$60K!!! What's interesting about Jeep is that people who would never buy an American car would buy a Jeep. That's how powerful the Jeep brand is. Most Jeeps are Grand Cherokees that cruise around town from schools to shopping malls to office buildings. But there is a hard core fan base that makes them so appealing. They insist on Jeeps being off-road worthy. And without that, they're be just another SUV maker.

    • @BigRockMoto
      @BigRockMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good thing they know their customer base and have stuck to what makes them unique. Otherwise, like you said just another automaker.

    • @Gnux91
      @Gnux91 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BigRockMoto First American car for me. Would not buy before, the value wasn't there for me. The interiors were bad, seats, driveability. This Jeep Truck seems very upfront about it's capabilities and it comes with a high torque diesel which I got. The interior is way nicer. On another note, I do like the current F150 but it's far too big and now expensive because of the damn COVID. This is the right size truck I need to haul my motorcycles and do house stuff/trips. My wife can also drive it with no issues. Can also go to trails and have fun in the mud out of the box

    I bought a 2022 JTR just like yours though I opted for the black top and fenders. I’ve owned 2 Grand Cherokees and a 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk. All have been trouble free and had great values.
    I have zero regrets. It was expensive but it’s so unique that full sized trucks just didn’t fit my needs as well as the mid sized trucks.

    Welcome to the Jeep family! I think the Gladiator is a great value and the utility and capability along with the fun are unparalleled! While I love the Rubicon we pull an RV as well and frankly though I have owned a number of Jeeps some of the Rubicon capabilities just wont realistically get a lot of use. I opted for the Max Tow Sport which has the same axles and gears as the Rubi along with a 7650 tow rating and 1500 payload and brought it home for much less than a Rubi and have been very happy with it. We pull a Flagstaff 21FBRS but are looking at Lance campers for the next trailer as well so looking forward to your future videos.

    • @BigRockMoto
      @BigRockMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome thanks for sharing. You got a good value on your truck. That is a practical choice. You also have more payload that mine for sure. If you get a Lance, be careful on the weights and also tongue weight, they are heavy trailers. I would not want anything heavier than my 1685.

    Just picked up a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon 4x4 in Black a couple of hours ago. I traded my 2020 Canyon Denali for the Jeep Gladiator. I'm a Wildlife Photographer so I really wanted a vehicle where I could be open air and be able to pull over & stop and get shots of Birds in flight without leaving the vehicle. In places like wildlife drives this ability is very handy where you can't get out of your vehicle. I like the ability to fold down the windshield for the same reason, less glass = better photos. If needed I can get back into the Colorado mountains on trails. I like having a truck with the ability to haul equipment and tow trailers. Compared to my Canyon this vehicle looks tough & not as refined which I really like. I didn't like all the chrome on the outside side mirrors of my Canyon when folded in it still reflected and ruined my photos. My 2020 Canyon had a clunky transmission which was by design but I didn't like the feel of it. I enjoy the feeling of riding higher in the cab with the maneuverability of a midsize truck. The ability to make it look tough by adding a 2-3" lift kit, 37" tires, snorkel, lights and more really attracts me. The price is a bit expensive for a mid sized vehicle that competes with the likes of the Colorado & Canyon but you can do more with it. I felt it was worth it, but time will tell.

    I’ve had regular cars & luxury cars & I was so excited about new redesign Jeep’s, went & looked at them & I was so very disappointed in ride, quality & features at that 50-60k price point. My tester kept veering left, had electrical problems on test drive & rough ride. I bought a Benz instead, with change leftover😊. I still like the look of Jeep Wrangler/gladiator- but it’s not for everyone! However, I would consider the 2022 grand cheerokee L👍.

    I'm hoping they come up with a two-door I'm a single woman that drives with a cat and a dog and I don't need all that space I just need to be able to put an electric bike in the back and pull a camper thank you so much because I was looking at these I really like them I just don't want a front and back seat even three seats is a thought but I just don't need a family ride anymore instead of seats in the back I would prefer something like enclosed space Maybe with the four doors but I don't want the seats and I don't want to pay for it I would rather have like a storage area where I can put a litter box in it put some coolers whatever I want or something in there that I want to leave in there like a trunk wish they had come up with something like that

    Keep is no longer a keep its an over priced electronic gadget loaded down soccer mom minivan. The gladiator is prime example of this, for less money you can buy an actual truck. That back seat is laughable, bed size is a joke, poor engineering with notches in rear frame. I just can’t see a reason to buy one. Jeep was lost with introduction of the JK when they stretched it to a 4 dr and literally put a motor from a minivan in it. Jeep use to be about bone stock simplicity with amazing reliability. 4.0 was best motor ever had. There is a reason TJs are worth more than JKs now. With every design change they stray further and further away from what Jeep was designed to do. Don’t understand how you could have passed on Tacoma

    • @BigRockMoto
      @BigRockMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will have a video on why I chose it over a Tacoma. For me, the gladiator is functionally superior. It has more room, more legroom, a better 8-speed tranny, more ground clearance, way more tire clearance for up to 37's with barely any lift needed, doors and roof come off, better crawl ration and final drive ratio, front locker, shall I go on? I would never buy a tacoma over this.

    • @yrrah89
      @yrrah89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cuz he cant take the roof and doors off on the tacoma? and toyota is boring af!!!! thats why so mind your business.

  • @bizzfo

    It’s fugly. Its proportions are all out of whack. FCA was lazy and basically slapped an ugly truck rear end on the back of a Wrangler.

    • @scootypuffjr.
