Black Mesa possibly got all the military grade weapons after they discovered Xen and its inhabitants. Heck, the place was making prototype weaponry too. Unfortunate that only the Tau Cannon made it out. Imagine the Gluon Gun being used on the Combine or the Antlion Guard? Oh man that would be awesome.
***** Well a Strider is pretty tough but it would probably go down in less than a minute. Although, if you're a strategic person, you could take out its legs so it could go down quicker. Man if only we had this gun near the end of Half-Life 2 when you had to face off against three Striders at once.
Well if take a look at the gun on the air-boat it is actually a tau cannon, I didn't realize it at first ether, sucks you can't take it off the air-boat though.

I started watching this when it first began, I watched episode one through like 16 or so and then he stopped for a bit. Then I found these again, and it was like Christmas! I was hooked. Watched them for a week, and now I'm here. Keep these up, I love this series!
No, dust wouldn't pile up at the exit. It would just transport all dust to the other side, but it would still be suspended in the air. And I'm assuming Black Mesa has good ventilation, it being an underground complex where ventilation is critical. And a lot of dust is from Humans. Read: Organic compounds, and would get pushed over even if it was organics only. I mean I know I'm thinking about this too much, but yeah. That's how I get my jollies, leave me alone.
***** Does the teleportation system still work? What about the lighting? If all those work, why wouldn't the ventilation? Also i'm pretty sure you go through a ventilation intake at some point of the game that's running.
The way I take it is that teleporters were a big breakthrough, but in a manner where humans don't fully understand how it works themselves. They didn't build the tech from ground up, they were given something or had stumbled onto it. Kind of like certain parts of quantum physics - they know it works, but don't fully know why.
How he exited the teleporter room is exactly how I did it the first time. I had no idea that door was there and I was so angry when I finally figured it out. It was right there, I didn't have to repeat this section at all!

Even before Steam, before they were a big on the distribution thing, they already took their sweet time to release games. Half Life 2 only came YEARS after. And the episodes too. Yes, they take their time. They have many years between their games, but it is worth it.

It won't make the development any faster. In fact, it would only get in the way of the development. When they made Half Life 1, they introduce the engine that was the foothold for most games of the time. One of the biggest, Counter Strike, included. When they made Half Life 2, they created the engine Source, which is still used by modern games today, 7 years later. Half Life games shape the industry because they are only released when they can shape the industry. When things are set up. They don't just develop and release a game. Anyway, I know it is coming. Anyone with half a brain knows you don't kill your goose that lays golden eggs. And Valve didn't get as big as it is because the people who were on top of it are stupid. And guess what, the people who were on top of Valve 15 years ago still are now.
I think that either way they're going to finish it, at some point. I'm not bothered by how long it takes them to do it, I'll still check it out when it does. And some people think it will be underwhelming due to the amount of hype it's getting, but if you're a fan of the games you're going to want to know how it ends, it won't be underwhelming for me it'll be on par with the other episodes. Also it's going to sell massively even if the game blows.
Amazing episode; another showcase of the series humor, mixed with a lot of scientific stuff by Freeman that does make sense. Great job, Ross... as always.

We don't know for sure. I think there might be, if Ross has enough time after HL1 ends. I think he'll need to make another series anyway. He won't make much TH-cam revenue off of just the Game Dungeon, and he needs to support himself. Even if it's not Half-Life 2, I'm sure we can expect to see one of the many things we saw in Freeman Across the Universe!

I've been watching this since the first episode and i still get excited when i see a new one in my news feed, kee going Ross, you're doing a great work. Can't wait for the next one :D
So Freeman's Mind is coming to the end, and the HL2 tenth anniversary is coming up next month. HL3 announcement coming with at the last episode of Freeman's Mind perhaps? Ross, you better have a deal going on with Valve. ;)
***** I can understand where you're coming from but Valve hasn't abandoned Half-Life - they're just working on other things at the moment and Valve likes to make sure that everything is perfect before they release it.
***** That just makes no sense. Half Life is their first big franchise and the most famous. It is no hyperbole to say that Half Life 3 is one of the most awaited games in the world. It would be insane for anyone to "lose interest" in it. Especially since people would it over them forever.
***** That is because they only release big titles. They only take huge undertaking. Every game they release leaves a mark on the industry. Don't talk to me about time. Even before Steam, before they were a big on the distribution thing, they already took their sweet time to release games. Half Life 2 only came YEARS after. And the episodes too. Yes, they take their time. They have many years between their games, but it is worth it.
***** It would. It actually would kill them. Well, not them. The game. I've seen hype kill more than a few games. You have too. We all have. Why do they need to announce it? It won't make the development any faster. In fact, it would only get in the way of the development.
When they made Half Life 1, they introduce the engine that was the foothold for most games of the time. One of the biggest, Counter Strike, included. When they made Half Life 2, they created the engine Source, which is still used by modern games today, 7 years later. Half Life games shape the industry because they are only released when they can shape the industry. When things are set up. They don't just develop and release a game. Anyway, I know it is coming. Anyone with half a brain knows you don't kill your goose that lays golden eggs. And Valve didn't get as big as it is because the people who were on top of it are stupid. And guess what, the people who were on top of Valve 15 years ago still are now.
I think that either way they're going to finish it, at some point. I'm not bothered by how long it takes them to do it, I'll still check it out when it does.
And some people think it will be underwhelming due to the amount of hype it's getting, but if you're a fan of the games you're going to want to know how it ends, it won't be underwhelming for me it'll be on par with the other episodes. Also it's going to sell massively even if the game blows.

Good as always, believe me. Very nicely handled with explaining why Freeman went along with all this (because appealing to his better angels, ain't gonna work).
But I imagine I and a few others were wondering if we were going to hear Shepard call out: "Get back here you big orange fuck!"

We don't know for sure. I think there might be, if Ross has enough time after HL1 ends.
I think he'll need to make another series anyway. He won't make much TH-cam revenue off of just the Game Dungeon, and he needs to support himself.
Even if it's not Half-Life 2, I'm sure we can expect to see one of the many things we saw in Freeman Across the Universe!
If people want it enough, I'm sure he'll do it, unless he really doesn't want to.
I'm sure Valve will release HL3 right when Ross finishes this one, to make the workload of completing the series seem perpetually insurmountable.
He said he will, but if people get bored of the series he will go on to the old civil protection series

How was he able to get so close to it but not pick it up?
+Jason J. Ayala P. He probably typed Impulse 101 into the Console, which gives him every weapon in the game. Considering you can't pick up the Hivehand for ammo if you already have it, then that would explain how he got so close without picking it up.
