OH NO CHRIS! YOUVE DONE IT! Now everyone who even has a passing knowledge of the Friday the 13th franchise is gonna call you out on the fact that Jason wasn’t the killer in the first film!! WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF
Tommy Jarvis didn't need development. He was introduced in Part 4, being playing by Corey Feldman. Five was a pile of shit, and implied that Tommy was going to become the new "Jason". Six was their attempt at fixing the franchise and wrapping up Tommy's storyline. Try watching a franchise before criticizing it.
Am I the only one who considers Friday the 13th Part 6 to be their favorite of the series? I mean come on, he is brought back to life with lightning and basically becomes Super Saiyan Zombie Jason.
I had the pleasure of being a 17 year old usher at a local movie theater when the first one came out. People were blown away from the terror and since we showed it on Friday the 13th, ALL the local news media were there.
I hate to be that guy, but... 1) What Friday the 13th movie EVER took itself too seriously? 2) Jason was not the killer in the first one. 3) Friday the 13th is tomorrow.
1.) The original 5 entries, as well as parts 7&8 were meant to be serious horror films. Part 8 was supposed to be serious, but it was so bad people found it funny. 7 had a few jokes but that was it. A few of the opening ones have comic relief characters, but they are not comedies. 2.) He knows Friday the 13th is tomorrow. He just released it a day early.
I'm glad you reviewed this one Chris but I don't think it's much of an atrocity 😐 It's actually quite brilliant for bringing fun to the series after a pretty lame part 5 👍
Am I misunderstanding or hearing it wrong, but are you saying that Jason kills people in Friday the 13th (the first movie you show the poster of)? Jason is not he killer until Part 2. :-) Or are you talking about tje series in general?
I enjoy most of the F13 movies. I don't think any of them take themselves too seriously. That said, Part VI is indeed a blast! Still, dude you're usually more on point with your film knowledge. Part 1 did not feature Jason. Nor did the hockey mask show up until part 3. And part 5 wasn't even Jason. So in the timeline it really makes sense that part 6 was the first to be pure fun. It's also a sign of the times. Self aware movies weren't much of a thing before then.
2:08 - 2:15 WRONG. In the first film Mrs. Vorhees is the killer, NOT Jason. I'm sorry Chris, that was the wrong answer. *Woodsboro Ghostface killer voice*
Chris you probably been corrected on this a hundred times but Jason isn't the actual killer in the first movie it's his mom but great review none the less
2:10 - NO! IT'S THE MOTHER WHO'S THE MURDERER OF THE FIRST FILM! NOT JASON!!!! Jesus Christ... They even mention this in the opening of Scream! That's the question she fails to answer! She answers "Jason" and gets killed! If this was Scream, Chris would be dead because he would've answered the question wrong. And then we wouldn't get any new reviews! That's horrifying!
jason's reemergence from the grave-SCARY AS HELL! the worms, the eye opening, the whole mummy reaching outta the sarcophagus routine wuz un4gettable. dig it.
The killer in the first movie wasn't Jason, it was his mother, Pamela. I realize other people have probably pointed this out already, but that was a pretty big blunder. I mean, that was Ghostface's trick question at the beginning of Scream. If Chris was in that movie, he'd be dead right now.
We just got to tour this filming location it was pretty awesome! got some good footage for the channel. Definitely a guilty pleasure movie! Thanks for sharing

Jason Lives does not belong in the same category as The Wicker Man, Batman and Robin, or The Happening.
+The Saturnian Yes, but unlike all of the other movies in his Hilariocity reviews, this one was completely self-aware. Jason Lives did meta horror comedy a full decade before Scream came out. This is not a "so bad it's good" movie, because it's not bad at all.

Well is everyone gonna keep commenting on that specific thing over and over? Jeez..
AntBakedStudios - Movie and TV Productions maybe
Yes dude! That is the WHOLE point! In the industry he's CLEARLY trying to break into, you have got to know.your.shit! There are no room for 'oopsies' in a space where 20 other channels with your same format are literally vying for a chance to have a CAREER! Grow tf up, antbakedstudios! Aka this chris dude's alt account XD haha
Jason isn’t in the 1st film....
He is at the end. He's just not the killer.
P H Nearly forgot about his awesome cameo in the end
You beat me to the punch. Jason is not the killer in Friday the 13th part one. He miss spoke which is understandable.
You also forgot he also appeared in flashbacks of his drowning.
Yes he is but he is not the killer
Lmao I've only seen the original once like 20+ years ago and I remembered Jason wasn't the killer😂😂 I'm not even a horror fan either.
When I saw that kid say “I think we’re dead meat”, I thought of James A. Janise.
yes. im not the only one. i thought of him too.
I love the first 4 movies, they are my favorites in the franchise. The original gets underrated and underappreciated all the time. I love the atmosphere, music, and the dark night photography of that first film.
Keep up these intros Chris, love them!
Ummm in Friday the 13th Jason's mom is the killer nor Jason
I love how you set the room up for this. The lighting looks really cool.
the james bond-esque opening was awesome and why did the guy tripping on the branches make me giggle so hard.
Trigger Warning 2:05 - "But, when it comes to the Friday the 13th movies, I don't really consider the first one to be that great of a film. It's basically a slasher movie with Jason and he kills people..."
He needs to watch that movie again
Trigger warning.. Really... Fucking soft ass pussies everywhere..
@@trod146 I think it's a joke, dude
It’s true though
Apart from the fact that he gets the Jason part wrong.....the first one is terrible, only good thing (sorta) was the reveal of Mrs voorhes being the killer. It was so boring and the second one was terrible too
This is just a review... not a hilariocity review. I call "false advertising". :D
Richard Ramirez All the movies before had comedy as well i don't think he's actually sit down and watched them from start to finish
Jason Lives IS a Great Film...
No an epic film
Am I the only one who considers Friday the 13th Part 6 to be their favorite of the series? I mean come on, he is brought back to life with lightning and basically becomes Super Saiyan Zombie Jason.
Don't forget Alice Cooper.
I only like the daft ones lol.
It's tied with Part IV for me.
You know, Chris himself said Part 6 is his favorite, right?
I'm with you Larry, this is definitely my favourite in the series
ah the first friday the 13th wasn't jason running around killing people? it was his mum. come on man
i remember number 5 being the weird jason where isnt not even jason. Its just some regular dude. wouldnt that be more suitable for hilariocity
Was this even English? What the fuck...
Thank you Chris means a lot, a Friday the 13th in my birthday month is the best gift ever.
4:29 It's funny whenever I see Tony Goldwyn in Scandal or Ghost, I always remember him for being in this lol
I had the pleasure of being a 17 year old usher at a local movie theater when the first one came out. People were blown away from the terror and since we showed it on Friday the 13th, ALL the local news media were there.
i didn't think this movie was an atrocity :(
Lars Anger Not really that bad of a movie
2:13
Uh Chris, you do know that Jason isn't *in* the first one, yes?
Only kid Jason, sort of, in a dream.
>talking about friday the 13th part 1
>says jason is the killer
nice one
this is easily my favorite movie in the franchise
the kills, the way Jason looks ,the comedy. Despite it's few flaws, everything is awesome.
Agreed
Tommy Jarvis is awesome!!!
I hate to be that guy, but...
1) What Friday the 13th movie EVER took itself too seriously?
2) Jason was not the killer in the first one.
3) Friday the 13th is tomorrow.
BRIAN SNIPES
Wait so today isn't the 14th?
Have you ever heard of different time zones
Trainer Popplio Have you heard about The Bird?
1.) The original 5 entries, as well as parts 7&8 were meant to be serious horror films. Part 8 was supposed to be serious, but it was so bad people found it funny. 7 had a few jokes but that was it. A few of the opening ones have comic relief characters, but they are not comedies.
2.) He knows Friday the 13th is tomorrow. He just released it a day early.
I'm glad you reviewed this one Chris but I don't think it's much of an atrocity 😐 It's actually quite brilliant for bringing fun to the series after a pretty lame part 5 👍
the real hilariocity is you this time to be honest
So I see stuckmann didn't watch Friday the 13th 1 nor Scream 1.
Chris
You should totally make horror shorts
Love your work dude
Umm Chris in the first Friday the 13th Jason wasn't the killer, was his mother..
exactly i should know because guys i grew up with jason :P
Did he explicitly say Jason was the killer in the first or just that it had Jason?
Scott Sandler He said it, but maybe he forgot at the moment.. If he saw the movie he obviously has to know Jason isn't the killer
Scream literally quizzed us about that fact
Am I misunderstanding or hearing it wrong, but are you saying that Jason kills people in Friday the 13th (the first movie you show the poster of)? Jason is not he killer until Part 2. :-)
Or are you talking about tje series in general?
Now that F****ng AWESOME. Your Halloween specials are my favorite.
holy fuck you actually reviewed part 6. your awsome chris.
Actually Jason Wasn't The Killer In Friday The 13th (1980) As Scream Would Tell
2:08 - 2:15 WRONG. In the first film Mrs. Vorhees is the killer, NOT Jason. I'm sorry Chris, that was the wrong answer. *Woodsboro Ghostface killer voice*
love your videos! Jason Lives is my 2nd favorite in the franchise!
Thanks for reminding me that I need to watch this again. 👍
Chris you probably been corrected on this a hundred times but Jason isn't the actual killer in the first movie it's his mom but great review none the less
DanielCrowder i think he didn't want to spoil the ending, because most ppl who watch it for the first time don't know he's not the original killer
The 4th friday the 13th movie was also good
Number 2, 4, 6 and 7 are very enjoyable
Amazing Setup! October is my favourite time of year!
I loved the Friday the 13th movies...
All of them... Hmmm.
Wow Friday the 13th is tomorrow, perfect time for you to make this
TheCanadian Pillow it is Friday the 13
It's about to be where I am
Where i am it already is Friday the 13th.
It's almost like he did it on purpose 😂
Mr. Flash different time zones idiot.
It was Mrs Voorhees who was the killer in the original not jason
It's been said that this movie helped inspire Scream years later with its meta humor. It's my favorite. Good review Chris.
wstine79 meta humor?
jason's reemergence from the grave-SCARY AS HELL! the worms, the eye opening, the whole mummy reaching outta the sarcophagus routine wuz un4gettable. dig it.
Your background in this video is awesome all your movies displayed and the lighting is so kool looking! Luv it !😻
Who else thought it would be Jason X?
RosettaStoned525 I thought it would be as well
I was kinda glad it wasn't because everyone has made fun of Jason X so much that there are no new jokes you can say about it.
"This year we're talking about scary films for the entire month."
I'll expect the Vampire's Kiss - Hilariocity Review on November 1st, Chris.
Colin Scott Farnham on my desk preferably
We just got to tour this filming location it was pretty awesome! got some good footage for the channel. Definitely a guilty pleasure movie! Thanks for sharing
*THIS JASON KILL MAKES ME LAUGH!* 5:20
Part 6 was very good.
But my favourite is part 4 the final chapter.
Review Halloween 2!
2:13 "Jason killed" Nooooooooooooooope it was Mrs. Voorhees
THIS gets a hilariocity review? Are you kidding? Part VI was one of the best, if not THE best movies in the Friday The 13th franchise! A hilariocity review of a Friday The 13th movie should have been reserved for Jason Takes Manhattan or Jason Goes To Hell. Jason Lives does not belong in the same category as The Wicker Man, Batman and Robin, or The Happening.
Completely agree. True Friday fans love Part 6.
+The Saturnian
Yes, but unlike all of the other movies in his Hilariocity reviews, this one was completely self-aware. Jason Lives did meta horror comedy a full decade before Scream came out. This is not a "so bad it's good" movie, because it's not bad at all.
+Rust T
Amen. Part 4 and 6 are my two favorite movies in the series.
Word Unheard i agree but i dont get the hate for jason takes manhattan i enjoyed it
I agree
9:33 at first I thought you're gonna reference the youtube channel Dead Meat lol
Nice review, Chris! Definitely have to rewatch this.
