I have been a fan of Ms "Petrol Head" Kidd since her subterranean days with Quentin Willson. But, living in the States as I do, I lost track of Jodie's broadcast ventures for some years. So, imagine my delight in just discovering "Kidd in a Sweet Shop". It happened while cruising the net for MGB You Tube videos. (I am the owner/restorer of a 1970 MGB Roadster, y'see). What a terrific presentation this is -- certainly the best about Frontline's beautiful beasts. While a Frontline "B" is unobtainable for this Yank OAP, I can admire them from afar and now, thanks to my luck discovery, continue to admire Ms Kidd. As you say, Jodie, "well done, you!"
Well done Jodie for promoting a British product which is excellent. 🎉
Great to see craftsmanship restore classic British cars. Back to the good old days of simple sports cars
Utterly and totally fantastic. Blown away by the V8, a proper work of art.
Can't wait to see (and hear...) you driving Abby!
My first car was a 65 MGB, so I have a soft spot in my heart for the style and romance of Morris Garages little sports cars. But these are so sexy and real dream cars. Well done, Thanks so much Jodie, and Tim!
I'm so glad I found this one. I was born in the UK, and right before we came back my mum bought a left-hand drive MGB to take back to the states. I'll never forget seeing it the first time as my mum drove it down our driveway in Thetford. It was bright red, as if wet. Mind you, this was the '70's, and after we got back to the states my mum used to love to drive me to primary school in Missouri - where BROWN is considered exciting - and along the way I'd be riding in the back seat and she'd intentionally hit the same bump every time, sending us airborne, with me (no seatbelt) screaming weeeee! as my head hit the ceiling. It's amazing any of us Gen X'ers survived. Don't get me started on Evil Kenevil.
You got a cool Mom👍👍
@@williambarry8015 she’s still alive and still wants an E -Type. I think her proudest moment was when I was in the last audience episode of the grand tour.
@@Bullion-Bikes-n-BabesTour2024 im so sorry i used the word "had". I don't know where that came from✌️✌️
@@Bullion-Bikes-n-BabesTour2024 i hope she gets her E Type. Love the look of that inline 6 engine.
@@williambarry8015 no worries mate, we're all here for a bit of fun
Stunning cars. Congratulations to everyone 👏🏻👏🏻
Great film, really enjoyed your visit. What a celebration of British engineering, glad you showcased it. Cheers.
Good on you all the team at frontline the craftsmanship is outstanding 🏆👌✌
It’s been a nearly a year. Glad you’re back Jodie and great come back with Front Line and thank you to Tim and his firm. What a business and he’s got it bosh on. Well done 👍🏼
Fantastic episode, great to see behind the scenes of Front Line. Would love to hear more about the Rover V8 one, hopefully in the next one 👍
Enlightening, epic and eye opening! Frontline's MG's truly are works of art and, judging by your comment section, still held dear by so many!
Thanks again to Tim. And to you Jodie for another unique video.
I have visited and test driven two Frontline cars, think Porsche and Singer Restomod, the LE50 and Abingdon edition, the Abingdon was as quick as my 991.1 GTS and the interior was sensational, it had a Mazda engine that was incredibly smooth and sounded fantastic, the price is representative of the work, and I was about to buy a LE50 for £85k but it sold before I could push the button, Ed who dealt with me was incredibly professional, anyone who is tempted should definitely test drive these astonishing cars..
Taken me two days to realise but I feel sure that was yourself in a rather nice Lamborghini heading into Laxey on Saturday. It was nice of you to stop in response to my thumbs-up. If indeed it was you, hope you had a great visit. The beardy chap in the XKR.
Welcome back. More classics! Looking forward to it.
I like that someone has modernised that v8 with better heads. Wondered for a long time why no one has done that. So obvious that there is a big big market and demand for it.
WOW WOW WOW insane prices absoulutely eye watering …. The poor man’s Aston Martin has become an MGB for fatcats 🙀🙀🙀🙀
Great Kidd in a Sweet Shop and great see places like this still going long may it continue. 👍
Thank you for sharing ! A great video, and some very special cars.
Looking forward to seeing how Abby drives (and sounds)!
5:47he looks up and thinks “oh god I hope that’s not in the shot”
Jodie you have such a welcoming presence with everyone you build content. So thanks for asking about the manual transmission in EV’. Would love hearing more. And why not using any aluminum Japanese engines?
As ever a 1st class production, what a fabulous place taking a Great British Cars to new levels. Very much looking forward to the next instalment🙂 thanks .
Awesome British engineering heaven🎉
That's brilliant... I really love it!
The ‘C’ struck a chord with me, I built a 220bhp 5 speed with Ridgard seats and everything in between , a humble giant killer 👌🏻😎
Just love the MGB´s....had a white MGB GT 1967 some years ago - Thanks for another good episode
Excellent work I love it. 👌
Oh, I do miss my 72 MGB. ;-)
Hi Jodie, what an amazing place.
Personally I'd love the MGA with that V8. Looking forward to seeing you drive the MGB
Always had a soft spot for the MGB GT especially when they are warmed up, breathed on or highly tuned, been to classic / vintage racing weekend at Angloeme a very tight challenging circuit really tests the driver.
The day's cars were designed for the eye!
Saved the best till last. Can't wait for the next installment !
Do you think his jeans always look like that or is he just REALLY pleased to see Jodie ? 🤣
It say a great deal about you, that your fascinated about his crotch rather than the car, weird
I absolutely love these Frontline MGBS .
They look superb and sound great too .
The only problem I have now is do I buy the v8 or the electric ?
Well to
Give you a clue , the only bit of the video I skipped was when you were looking at the electric version 😂😂😂
Fantastic work. I hope to see you at the revival this year
I was lucky enough to drive an early LE50 Demo car back in about 2012/13. My own B GT was with them for a lot of upgrades. The LE50 was just fantastic, still felt like an MG but better in every single aspect! Great company doing brilliant work.
Wonderful
Superb video!...🤩🤩🤩
Well, that was fun, an unusual and specialized workshop - I always loved my MG Midget's -- didn't trust them to go 100 miles before something electrical stopped the fun - and they were all restored... but these are gorgeous MGB's, and what a thrill to have a bespoke, powerful, and well handling MG -- I assume we are going for a ride in the next video? And on a final note, I must say that you look gorgeous! Your outfit complimented you from head to toe.
If I was building my dream car, Frontline would get tired of taking my calls. They'd likely appreciate the money I'd be dumping on them, though. 😀 This was wonderful to watch.
Jodie in the trim room reminds me of Gandalf when he introduces Bilbo to the dwarfs.
I am redoing a classic mini at the moment and after that a mgb is the next one as its always been the dream. Love them and these guys are killing it.
nice to see mg kept alive....
I had a Janspeed modified BGT in the '70,s & it went quite well & could hold it,s own with Dolomite Sprints etc.The "B" is a versatile car that can be daily driven, raced & rallied without spending a fortune.
Very cool😎👍
A great company to deal with. I didn’t buy a car, but a set of their wheels for a TR3a. Small purchase but they were so helpful.
Class act well done 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧♥️👍
More classic 🎉❤
Old school way of modifying. Love it. Real, as it happens thought process. I think it's time to start fitting the body to the Porsche. Maybe when the shell is welded on and no more movement in it, that's the time to cut out the pillars to fit the roll cage.
Future is exciting, Depends on long term destany , may God bless you.
what a treat 👍
Used their parts on my mg, brilliant stuff
Magnificent!! True craftsmen with an awesome vision. The V8 is a work of art....puts the old 1275cc Midget of my youth to shame😊
Wonderful to see classic MGBs rejuvenated Jodie ❤
Love me some modified MGBs! (my avatar is my custom chassis/suspension, SBC-400hp+ '64 MGB). Mine will never be as nice as the Frontline stuff, it makes me grin like a little kid, can't put a price on that
Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
This Abbey version is really tempting.
Abbey needs a corvette engine with those red rocker covers IMHO.
In the response research is in the factor response.😮
CERTIFICATE GEM 💎
IN ROYALTY AS ASSOCIATE
IN ASSOCIATION 😮😮😮
One of these with an Alfa Romeo Busso ,would be my perfection .
Wow another amazing video Jodie 👏 I'm an old ex MG Rover mechanic so it's fantastic someone is keeping the classic MG Brand alive !!!! .
Ps your looking amazing 😍 have you lost weight 😉
How rude.
I remember Sir Michael Edwardes, the boss of British Leyland at the time, announcing the closure of the Abingdon MG factory, and remarking that there is 'no longer a market for 2 seater sports cars'. Yeah..... tell that to Mazda and Porsche......It was a criminal act.
Just started on the video and can’t wait to go through it. Hope it will feature a GT model.
I love it, can I please order one…? My goodness; and all British too…
I'm in the US. I WAS at a car auction once and they had a MG Midget. I wasn't interested in bidding on it but i decided to sit in it. I couldn't believe how perfectly that micro car fit my frame. It fit me like a glove.
No one asked.
@@mattmorris2867 one in every crowd.
What you can do with an MG-B with unlimited funds! Restomod my butt! When enhanced to this level you really didn’t want an MG-B in the first place!

With cars like the MG it’s not trying to break the sound barrier just going down your favourite B road at 40 ish is just a fun as 3 figure speeds that hyper cars do in 6 seconds the car you just drive for the hell of it not around Knightsbridge’s at 20 mph
What can you say 2 super models in 1 video 😜
Hi Ya Jodie , I was thinking about you just the other Day, Glad you are still with us, never liked MGBs or Cs but Love that Baby.
Come on lottery!
I wonder if they leave the body twisted off to the side like they all were from factory
I was worried Jodie was going to bump her head on one of the rafter ties
I don't think the great Cecil Kimber would be very happy at an MG being turned into a mobile fire bomb!
Good to see the excellent restoration work. Powered by V8 engines or batteries must surely upset the original handling.
My first car was an Austin Healey Sprite mk 4
Then two MG midgets
Fond memories
Doesn’t compare to Jodie looking as beautiful as I’ve ever seen her and that’s saying something
#jeansheaven
Great video 😎👌
Hi Jodie, consider contacting Eric Clapton for a meet as he has a fine selection of classic cars including several Ferrari's.
Like she won’t already know that.
Привет, ты похожа на супер-модель
Redbull f1 cars please at hanger 7 and mk7
👍🏴😀
Hang on, electric withmanual gear box! Ned to know more
Fantastic video and an amazing company 🎉
Don't they make flea spray for dogs and cats also?
😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
🤘😎🤘🇬🇧
Remember do not your on electric, not guaranteed to find a charger
hhhhhm nice motor x much better .
Jody She loves everything SHES so false my friend has wide body with 450BHP. With 5 speed box up graded brembo discs etc.
What's the point for adding just 45mm to each side a joke go with a wide body far better stance and looking
Fantastic engineering is a credit to you all.
Worked on these cars when i served my apprenticeship .They was a absolute bag of crap from the factory.
Interesting video...completely disagree with the builder who removed the signal lights...so many customizers think they know more than the original designers...BUT THEY DON'T. Also...the car looks idiotic without bumpers.
I totally agree Columbo. When it comes to changing things from the original design and or leaving parts off, it then becomes a custom job not a restoration. I see these kind of abortions every day. I'm a Jag man and when Jaguar went from the XJ6 series 1 and 2 to the series 3, they went too far. They gave the job of changing the original design to Pininferrina. And the results were very popular with Jaguar selling a lot of cars. But it turned me totally off Jaguar, because the original design had been changed artistically for the worst. Good design has to have balance, harmony and order. They got that back when Geoff Lawson brought back the original shapes and curves on the X300 model, by simply removing all the changes that Pininferrina had made.
@@richardautenzio8117 Some good points you make...I had a Jag XKE 2+2...Sold it...just could not love the "2+2"...Also had an MGB GT decades ago when I was 17...I considered it a "Baby Jag".
Wonderful episode! But I’d rather have a tuned B series like the Works cars than a restomod. And the EVs are an abomination. Assume they weigh a lot, and charging in 40 minutes is not fast. Imagine trying to go on a rally or long tour in one.
Mmmm probably too embarrassed to tell us the average price of these Bs..... 😂
MGBs were/are a complete load of crap, mate had a 1.8, got passed by a morris marina ffs
Sacrilege that the MG marque was sold to the Chinese. Look at the trashy cars they make with an MG badge stuck on. Might as well sell the Crown Jewels next.
RIP the UK.
Great cars, irritating woman!
How to spend a fortune on a car that is mediocre at the best.
Quite a shame using existing cars, should simply make new from scratch .
Too many regulations and restrictions if the car is classified as brand new . You could not use the majority of classic car parts as most parts on a classic would fail new car regulations. Even simple things such as if you look at a new car interior you will not find anything resembling a 90 degree edge. Everything has large rounded corners to protect the occupants in an accident.
