A new MGB with V8 grunt, what's not to like! Superb thanks Jodie ❤
What's not to like? The black wheels and the lack of bumpers
@@robertcook2572 Not to mention the driver's door shutlines ! Why wouldn't you simply buy an Aston Martin ?
The cost...but its wonderful!
Never noticed this chick's videos before today... but apparently she has been around for years...
Have an MG Midget with Buick V8... best part is the smooth engine...
Every Car Guy has a story, please keep this format. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. salute to Frontline and the brains behind the company.
I really like that almost every component is British. The attention to detail and standard of finish is superb.
Except the Buick engine...
And the Morel audio brand which he said was English, is an Israeli/American brand!
Tim's a really good guy, he's put his heart & soul into that business. He deserves the attention his cars are getting.🙂👍
Wow, what a beautiful execution of such an iconic car!
Been waiting for this video Jodie 🎉. As an ex MG mechanic I was smiling for ear to ear ! Although the later MG'S . Maestro, Montego metro etc .
Such an amazing brand !!
They Stir the Soul and Inspire Memories❤
Great restomod, thanks for bringing us this video, Jodie.
So glad you kept the Marina parts-bin interior door handles!
What a car, old school classic with a modern twist.
I am in love. Proper British Beef. Amazing. Now I just need to work hard and get one!
That's what you call a jem of a beautiful 😍 ❤ car love it all together
Fantastic sound that is what a car should sound
A truly beautiful machine!...sounds awesome!...❤️
I have to hit the like button before I've even watched the video, because I know it's going to be great. Especially with the V8.
We need more cars like this, we can't compete with China on cheap crap, but we can compete on pure quality and class.
The word China actually means cheap crap.
Thanks again for another great video. Beautiful car, but I would miss head rests.
Wow Jody, what a weapon!! The sound was amazing! Many thanks for posting, cheers, John.
I'd love to have that over here on the German Autobahns! Mega!
Absolutely superb Jodie love these cars, and then you put in a monster v8.😊
What an attractive motor!
Really great job on making that V8 MGB. 👍😎👍
Omg I used to follow you for years in your modelling career! How cool that you've got a Car channel! 😍 so nice to see you on here ❤
What a fabulous car Abbey is- love it
Thanks 🙏
I love the vibe here, very nice. Contagious enthusiasm. :)
wow what a car excellent great to see an old car new and with lots of power
also it put a smille on your face when you see the on the road
well done kid in a sweet shop
It’s magnificent!
Lovely to see people doing these unique builds.... maybe making it back to a 2+ slightly more practical. either way lovely car!
Beautiful car!
My word, that car is amazing.
Hi Jodie that was great loved it. The way you loved the car would you buy one? As I would if I had the money without a doubt as it great cars like this exist in the first place.
Great piece of engineering, fit finish, sounds and looks the business. Well done to all involved
That is fun!
Some classic cars get better with age and some simple modifications. Truly stunning car
Much better than the EV converted abominations.
Have always been a Triumph fan rather than MGs but I would love one like that .
the front end shape kind of reminds me of a BMW Z8. very sleek slope
Great stuff, keep the hammer down!
Magnificent car .
Lordy, I bet this is a really really good steer. Fantastic fun in such a useable pretty package. Oh to have unlimited resources and just build what you fancy. The design and engineering on show here looks very impressive and properly resolved, top work and British too!
Engine sounds lovely when pushed, I hope someone specs a track version.
Beautiful job! Trimmed somewhat like an XK-E, the paint brings to mind the '68 E-Type I had.
Lots of American hot rodders did Sunbeam v-8 conversions in the late 60's early 70's. "Sportscar? Not yet it isn't" they said.
Great just shows what we can still do
Wow what a beastie😊
Incredible With a lottery win I'd have a V8 for proper motoring and an electric version for everyday use. Love the attention to detail, the electric window solution, brilliant
Great video about a company making a classic into a modern (extremely) desirable classic
In terms of size there is certainly at least one MGB with a jaguar v12 squeezed under the bonnet 😁
Brilliant car, now I know what to spend my lottery winnings on.
Awesome
Nice old Newcastle Registration.
Absolutely stunning but is it just me or does looking in the boot look like they have just dropped off an unfortunate soul at the local crematorium?
YES!!!
Thats a very nice tight but reserved english v8 sound, love iit x
There's nothing better than seeing the driver of a car radiating happiness 😊
Perfect for a run in the country
Yes please 😁
I❤ this 🚗
Nice job! What a project but couldn’t you have updated the seats? Headrests should be a no brainer in a restomod. 😅
I wish these were available in the US as my first car was a MGB-GT but I understand it is difficult to import them.
Easy to build one in USA...
I have had a real the for the MG C GT ever since I saw one as a kid. Long term plan to get a project and sort it.
Jodieee 💕
THAT is a car. I suspect it's big money but what an absolute beauty. I'm going to investigate immediately!
Yes, I've just seen the price. Another dream crushed.

Well it certainly ant cheep, but looks stunning @@simonjarratt
@@simonjarratt please tell us the ball park figure
When I was a kid my sisters had a friend that had a MG with a Corbett engine in it.
Think I might buy a lottery ticket
😀
I WANT ONE!!!!!!
Oh no, not again! My "have to have one now" list just got longer.
Great RESTOMOD of the MGB GT V8 . I am not english . i have not understood where the V8 come from and the power ??? Anyway , GREAT WORK .
Never mind about the upholstery, driving comfort and twaddle from the occupants, SHOW ME THE BLOODY ENGINE,
Mechanically superb and would be great to pilot. However, the back floor reminded me of a Hearse and the roof lining looks wrong imo! Sorry guys!
Cool.... definitely not unassuming though. I'd take one look and know it's gonna eat me for breakfast 😎
The standard MGB V8 was pretty fast with the rover 3.5 which was originally a Oldsmobile 215 cuin .This looks like a punched out Rover V8
No, Brits got the narrow 1950 Buick 215... 1961 Oldsmobile 215 version too wide for most small British cars... wish video had more info on the engine and less flippant chitchat...
The MGB already has a rover V8 and if that's not enough the RV8 also has a guess what? I do like this one with all the leather and the potdntial for reliability but you tend to fall in love with the original.
I think this is a just a bored out Rover V8 .A bit long in the tooth as originally the Rover V8 was a 1963 Oldsmobile 215 cuin motor .
Believe me. To get 375 road tractable bhp out of an RV8 it isn't "Just a bored out Rover" I would love to know who the engine builder is. Maybe JE?
finaly not 'traditional' hypercar , but sunbeam tiger like pure muscle and class machine .
What is source of powertrain?
lol 😂 looks like a hearse in the back!
yes that bit is awfull
Parts from etype jag.
So Jodie , have you bought one?
Where can I buy one in Canada?
The Dunlop alloy wheels are lovely, but not in gloss black. The detail is completely lost. Silver, or at a push, gunmetal.
I think that was the longest stint for you as a passenger before grabbing the wheel.
Redbull hanger 7 next please josie kidd I beg you to go please
Quite an achievement.
Proof that even though EVs are the ultimate commuting appliances, but if you want to feel alive, you buy an h shift ICE, bonus points if it has a great interior like this masterpiece!
My trackday, Sunday/Funday car is h shift ICE, my meaningless commuting appliance is a soulless EV which is objectively "faster" than the fun car.
A great modern resto of an old British classic. However, I’m not a fan of the hearse-like rear compartment.
Even though is has a V8 engine, it's not going to stop the bodywork from rusting which MGs are notorious for. Serious issues with that car by having stereo system controls in a centre console meaning you have to take your eyes off the road. Also no head rests on the seats which could result in serious whiplash injury if another vehicle crashes into the rear at speed.
Looks like a proper MG until you turn the key. Then Abby becomes a proper beast.🔥🔥🔥🔥
To be honest although it is obviously superbly engineered, for me most of choices for the appearance of both the exterior and interior did nothing for me at all 😱
6:15 - Yeah, Jodie, that's not even close to the biggest. There's some Rover/Leyland V8 equipped versions, where the stock 4.4 litre version of the motor from a Leyland P76 has been bored and stroked past 5.5 litres before being dropped in. IIRC the wildest is the ex Dr Mort Fitzgerald MG based racecar, somewhere close to 6 litres was one number I heard - Mort used to pull over going through 'Siberia' at the Phillip Island Grand Prix track and let the entire field of MG's pass, then chase down them all for the win, in a ten lap race,... If you can find footage of it racing, the thing is an animal, giant wing, splitter, ducting through bodywork for cooling and brakes.
This one you're riding in look much more suited to the road, commending the choice of wheels that look 'right' for the vehicles age, not some garish modern JDM rims that wouldn't suit.
Beyond that is the all aluminum 7L Corvette V8s with similar external dimensions...
@@buzzwaldron6195 The question was about how big the Rover V8 gets, not what else can be shoe-horned in.
I mean, if you're gonna swap in to an MG, it's gotta be a DGV.
If his order book was not full it will be now that is stunning, If he sticks to only thirty then there will be an awful lot of dis-appointed enthusiasts out there!
Should have let Jodi drive from the jump.
What MG should have been.
Are they going to tell us how much this beautiful thing cost
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
Beautiful car, stunning interior and craftsmanship.
Wheels are not to my reasonable taste (why black? Hero cars shouldn’t look like plastic wheel trims fell off - we are that generation ), but overall well done.
Very nice car but I think 375 hp is to much for the car
great to see a REAL beautiful car ,modernised, just wonderful , ...i just don't get these battery ugly cars they are trying to sell people nowadays , take me back to the 60's/70's/80's PLEEEEZ ...LOL
I found something I wasn't keen on - the roof lining.
Shouldn't even be a roof on an MG...
@@buzzwaldron6195 pretty hard to be a GT without one. Ever heard of a Magnette?
@@ianmontgomery7534 - I've never considered an MG that the top didn't come down on...
@@buzzwaldron6195 to each his own. I quite like Magnettes especially with the two tone paint. Also there was Airline coupe at Motorclassica which I loved too but it was a super rare car.
@@ianmontgomery7534 - Yeah, I already have cars with tops to drive such as my Ford Crown Victoria and I also have a car so rare you won't find a picture of one online...
From 230,000 euro, think i will stick to my 1.8gbt thanks
Stick with my MG Midget w/ Buick V8...
In my youth, I tried to shoe-horn a V8 Chevy into my MGB - the lack of facilities, money and, quite frankly, knowledge let me down and the project was a failure. But you have to dream…………….!
I slipped the aluminum Buick V8 into my '75 MG Midget...
What??? No images of the motor for us to drool over. Come on! It deserves a few minutes at least after making all those great sounds. Nice conversion. Thanks...except for the lack of engine shot that is.
Yes, more engine info, no flippant chitchat...
Funny. MGB with that WEIGHT over the FRONT Wheels, gonna handle like a ROLLER SKATE...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If that is the smooth 1950 Buick/Leland/Rover all aluminum V8, it's actually LIGHTER than any vibrating British iron 4 banger! And the aluminum cased 5 speed is lighter than the iron cased 4 speed...
@@buzzwaldron6195
Hope your right. There is an MGB in USA that has been widened so they could fit an American V8 Mowder...search YT.
I'll give her a loving home.
You want the car, also?
@@buzzwaldron6195 A man can dream.
@@SeeWildlife - LOL!
So the only original part of the car is the chassis/body
Maybe not even that, as you can get new bodyshells.
It is technically possible to rebuild from a chassis plate...
