Thanks for your help. My battery was completely empty then I had start problems because I had only charged with 5V3A instead of 15V3A. When the Steam Deck finally came back on I found that the touch screen was not working, so your theory that it is related to the battery being completely discharged is true.
Glad it worked for you! Yea, for some reason disabling the touch screen is something that happens when you discharge thr battery and plug in using a lower charger.
This fixed my screen sensitivity issue after installing a new screen protector. The screen wouldn’t register certain parts of the screen after installing the protector but after doing this it works perfectly. Thank you!

I literally just took the steamdeck out of the box, brand new. and the screen wasnt working. no answers online. right thumbstick squeaky, left D pad very thocky and loud. very annoying. too many valve fanboys out there saying its perfect and its not, thank you this actually works even though this deck is brand new.
Glad it worked. And yes your right no many "this is perfect" comments out there. It's a piece of equipment with some tolerances and far from perfect. People forget that even brand new electronics can have problems. And the steam deck is one of those items lol.

Quick note: Once you switch to power mode in BIOS, any charger works i.e. you don't have to switch to the one which came in the box, a phone charger( 30 watts in my case) works just fine albeit a little slower.Cheers. :)

Yesterday my steam deck had died(forgot to charge it) , and I connected it to a friend's OnePlus 10 warp charger. This charge system is not designed to quick charge most of devices, only Oneplus devices with dash charge and warp charge. After 5 hours connected(turned off) it only charged about.... 12%, and when turned on it showed a message that the charger was way too slow. A few moments later was when realized that the touch screen was not working. Sooooo, looking for a solution I came by your video. Much appreciated!

I had issues where the keyboard didn’t register the right keys used this and it seems to be working well. Hopefully a software update fixes the responsive of the keyboard touch

Going to see if this'll be a easy fix, or if it'll require taking apart. Finally got the usbc adapter to use a mouse, so hope it'll work and figure out buttons later

Thanks. It worked. It looked like on boot it ran a quick system verification check. At which point it probably knoticed the error and self corrected

I think it's settings thing. I don't recall my steam deck ever starting up when I plug in the charger.

Yep. Drained the battery dead from games, plugged it into a random phone charger and the touch screen failed. Thank you for the fix.

I remember my Nintendo DSi from 2008 had touch calibration in the settings. Steam not including it is downright unacceptable.
