Still my favourite video on this channel… I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this ! That engine, that sound, that scenery….. 😍
I bought this 981 Spyder a month ago to enjoy the car as Luke did in the video... also white but with red classic interior... LOVE IT! Listen to the sound is simply addictive!
I own the 2016 Boxster Spyder and I can tell you it is one of the best cars I’ve ever owned or driven. Period. This video is extremely accurate and informative. Thanks for producing it. This is what a Porsche is all about.

quality over quantity, they may have like a thousand subs but none of them are that active and most of them are the toxic subs you get in the comment box.

I believe only 2486 Boxster Spyders were built and I'm sure every owner has thoroughly enjoyed your fantastic video.
In fact I reckon your video has helped many a Porsche Boxster Spyder sale.
I know that I thoroughly enjoyed your video when I owned an immaculate 2008 987 Boxster S RS60 Spyder, but when a very low mileage white 981 Spyder with Carbon Bucket Seats and extended leather came on the market, I reviewed your video again and purchased it!

Love the aesthetic of your videos in general but this one is particularly pretty. Gonna send this to my dad, he bought a 981 Boxster Spyder a few months back and he's been loving it so I'm sure he'll enjoy the video as much as I did!

Thoroughly enjoyed your mountain pass drive in the Spyder. I did a European delivery in my 981 Spider April 1, 2016, but most of the passes were still snowed in. I did enjoy driving through six countries in 23 days before shipping back to the states. Looking forward to more of your videos Luke.

And do not forget the next Boxster Spyder will use the wonderfull 4.0 of the GT3! It will be epic!
Rom by the sounds of the test/prototype cars on the ring it sounds turbo to me. I hope I’m wrong but I think thats what Porsche will do next.

The car is amazing, but honestly, for me is the worst engine sound of a NA 6 cilinders, mabe because this only arrive to 7500rpm.
Great video and epic scenario. 981 Boxster Spyder is a fantastic machine. Hope you get the Cayman GT4 soon - it is one of the most enjoyable and engaging drives, both on road and track.

luke, your best yet! when you can let the car do the talking, you know its an epic car.
If someone is regularly going on trackdays, then the GT4 is the right choice, no doubt. Other than that, in my opinion the Boxster Spyder is a no-brainer: you get the same powertrain as the GT4 (-10 hp) plus the enjoyment of a cabriolet. Great work Luke, looking forward for more videos like this one. Cheers.

I LOVE my Porsche Boxster. It’s the base model with PDK. The balance, precision, and the all the power the car has to offer make you smile like to tomorrow! I can’t imagine how the Spyder must be!

I tested the Boxster GTS in 2015 and still miss it to this day. That sound is just so brutal and the drive is so engaging. To me a Boxster Spyder is one of the best Porsche's you could buy for sure.
Yeah I can imagine how you still miss it, for me its the same on the GT4. Drove one over a year again and to this day I think about it and how much I want one for my channel but still out of budget for now. Sound is pure excitement like you said.
+Cars with Luke ya I feel you. After driving that, you can't go drive a 718 and say "wow, this car is so much fun", because it's just lacking so much emotion compared to a 981 GTS or Spyder in my opinion.
I have a 2015 Manual Boxster GTS with X73 sports chassis suspension and ARB as the Spyder. Really love the GTS it's so much fun, but the Spyder looks mega. Maybe one day I'll upgrade but quite like my electric hood. Test drove a GT4 but it just didn't feel much different and I missed having the option to drop the roof.

Amazing video. Scenery is breathtaking the car is cool the realisation i messed up life and this video is the closest ill get to doing this is a kick in the nuts.. Quality
The locking diff and torque vectoring along with the mid engine and the turbo S steering rack really make this car. Turns in easily and if you give it some beans in a corner it spins around the corner even tighter.
This video of heaven was well worth the wait!

They called it Spyder for heritage reasons but still kind of doesn't make sense since all Boxsters are spyders...

I drove the Cayman R a while ago and that had the red seatbelts and red door opening straps too.
Not that it matters LOL, but is the roof manual and a pain to take down?

As for the roof yeah its a little pain, takes some minutes to do so if you get caught in the rain then you’re for sure getting a little wet 😄

I have this in triple black in Toronto Canada and it is awesome. Handsdown the best usable convertible. It is rare - even when I go into the dealership, the workers surround it.....

A manual flat 6 in the mountains , having driven a couple of boxsters around the alps you really notice a power drop at altitude, this is were my question comes in with the 718 turbo charged flat 4 s comes in , I can see the turbo charged cars performing better at altitude even though they sound naff , both my friend in his 991 3.8s R8 v10 and me in my 987.3 3.4 really could feel a power drop up the mountains but the ttrs and 997 turbo performed a lot better With the turbos pumping the air in ...
In the normally aspirated cars you could feel the power coming back the lower down we went ,
