Hi Dr Chung , great vid !! All ways wondered if there was anything else that set's off hemorrhoid flares not just sitting on toilet for too long or straining? IE spicy food, chocolate, alcohol, smoking, certain foods, tea and coffee ect? Heavy lifting, standing on your feet all day ? You are the man for the answers 👍👍
Yes I developed toileting anxiety because I couldn’t poop, I felt like my rectum was coming out. Also a PFPT told me I need to poop in 2 mins, don’t push etc etc or I would get pelvic organ prolapse. I had hypertonic pelvic floor after hysterectomy. I totally ran with this and this all started my fear before I even got fissure. Pain from hemm and fissures. Was totally afraid. my heart rate would skyrocket and I was sweating, having panic attacks etc. Developed right muscles and dyssengernic defecation. I’ve had to use many techniques to try to deal. I’ve gotten a lot better but healing isn’t linear. I clench a lot too. Anal spasms even when I have to pass gas, my anus will clench up. I use breathing, meditation etc etc to try to deal. I’ve literally been toilet training myself again. LolYesterday was a bad day again and I’m developing fear. I’m so happy someone directed me to you. I feel so much better about things. Thank you Dr
Thanks so much, 👍 once again, Dr. Chung, for your valuable information and so much help to me. You are a gem and life saver for me and I'm sure for so many others. This was great! That said so is the Pranicura you suggested! Can't believe it's helped so much. Something that worries me though is that I have to use Miralax often and it smells so chemical like. It doesn't seem like something you should really ingest but of course they make it for ingesting. Am I worrying too much? Colace helps but not as much as Miralax always does.

Doctor did ram his finger up my bottom viciously and I felt violated and Ive had a miscarriage and now I've been having spasms down there and across my entire abdomen. 😢
Thanks for the info again Doc! Unfortunately I've had random spasms since my surgery to remove a polyp on my rectum which also included a hemorrhoidectomy. The polyp was not cancerous thankfully. At first after the surgery I had serious problems with being able to go because my rectum was extremely contracted fighting back. It's been almost a year now and things are a lot better because of the information I got from your videos. I'm looking very forward to the next video to help with this problem. It's extremely annoying. Sorry I haven't got to watch much of your videos recently. I'll try to catch up. I am extremely grateful that you are doing TH-cam videos.
Hi Doc. I have a weird case for you - explain this if you can! When I am standing up or walking (mostly standing idle) I have a weird "burn/falling/spasmy" feeling in what I can only assume is my butthole. I do not feel this when sitting at all. When my bowel is full, I don't have the sensation. When I go to the toilet- immediately after and for all of the day, I have this weird sensation. My proctologist here in Italy diagnosed me with hypertonic sphincter, and anal fissures, and a 2mmx1mm occult rectal prolapse. Any ideas? I have had this for 1.5 years, it came on one morning after I pulled my groin exercising - weird! Thanks Doc, even if you don't get back, I appreciate all your work and your friendly approach!! All the best

As someone who always had normal / large bowel movements the last month ive developed anal spasms most not painful but now im having a very hard time passing stool. My stool has become more narrow and my bum feels so tight. I feel that the spasms caused this. Waiting to see my dr to figure this out as google freaked me out w all the colon cancer talk 😢
Off topic can you please clarify one thing I am divided by hazelnuts are they good for the war against hemorrhoids ? Should I be taking them or avoiding to not worsen my situation ? Generally, I know that hazelnuts are very healthy food to take
Dr. Chung I have IBS and some food triggers it and causes hard stool. I am not able to get rid of hemorrhoids and fissures because of this. Miralax is of no help to me. Please make few videos for IBS and precautions that should be taken to avoid fissures to recur.
It could be anal spasm due to hemorrhoids and fissure. Chances of IBS in such a case is less because I have also suffered from fissure and used to think that its IBS but it turned out to be spasm or tightening due to fissure.. I am not completely denying that you have IBS but this is just my opinion..
@@mukeshbharadwaj4768 no!!! i have observed my IBS symptoms change time to time. Earlier i used to get severe stomach ache because of certain food items and now they seem to cause hard stool which worsens the hemorrhoids and fissures problem.
Just wondering if it is normal to feel your poop moving through your intestine? It doesn't always happen but sometimes I seem to feel it??? My intestine feels a bit tender but not painful. I'm thinking it may be irritable bowel that causes that tenderness...but I'm always constipated. I drink Smooth Move tea and it does help usually but not sure if it is safe to drink a few nights a week.
Try eating Marijuana. I had this happen plus a fissure and getting body stoned for a couple of days helped immensely, pain went completely away and never came back.

There is very little information on anal spasms and when you are young there is very little education on colorectal health. All they tell you is not to strain. I suffered spasms for two years uninterrupted years ago. It was my fault..I was young and strained like I never did before and hurt myself. It took a long time to finally calm it down. Now I get them for awhile after bad constipation episodes. I find that a small electric massage wand helps interrupt the spasms when they show up.
Listening to this clip, I'm not sure anymore if the pain is actually from the Hemorrhoid, or fissure or anal spasm. I was miss diagnosis as GP thought I was suffering from Hemorrhoid and I didn't get the right treatment I need until it developed to chronic fissure. Then got to see a specialist. The specialist prescripted an ointment and it was better for a week. After that, many few episodes of pain. Been using all types of cream and ointment (including Pranicura5), still no improvement. Now, I'm not really sure if the pain is actually from fissure anymore. Or it could have been anal spasm. How will I know? I noticed though, whenever I released gas the pain seems to reduce for a bit and back again. Can you shed a light for me on this?

God bless you!
Thank you Dr. Chung for all your videos. It's a big help!
It seems that you are really talking about me at the moment. I am in that situation now. Thank you for enlighting.
Suffering from levator ani spasm for 3 years terrible stabing pain and colorectal surgeon said to me there is no cure pls Dr Chang I need help
Have you fixed this? I have the same issues clenching up even when passing gas awful
Thanks so much, 👍 once again, Dr. Chung, for your valuable information and so much help to me. You are a gem and life saver for me and I'm sure for so many others. I need to be examined and I hope my Gynecologist will support me. Don't know who else to go to. I have to have replacement hip surgery and I'm so afraid it will make everything worse because of the ongoing problem of being constipated.
Keep up the great work you are doing!💕🙏👍
This was great! That said so is the Pranicura you suggested! Can't believe it's helped so much. Something that worries me though is that I have to use Miralax often and it smells so chemical like. It doesn't seem like something you should really ingest but of course they make it for ingesting. Am I worrying too much? Colace helps but not as much as Miralax always does.
Great video, I totally agree with you on the Mind Body relationship for pain
Thank you Dr Chung 💖💙 I’ve been dealing w the spasms and fissure for months, saw a colorectal doctor and on the way…. It’s a journey lol.
I am explaining to my doctor they don’t understand my condition but I am every time go see and come out of the office crying 😭!!very sad
You couldn’t explain it better. Finally that know what I am going true ‼️😭😭😭 thank you doctor, finally somebody that understand and give the time at lest true TH-cam. 😢❤
Thanks so much for all the helpful information. I love how fun and down to earth you are. I appreciate your videos.
Thanks so much!
Your videos are a real help. Thanks.
You are an awesome doctor, awesome person and very funny!!
Thank You so much Dr. Chung. This was extremely helpful. I wish more doctors did what you are doing with the long form content. You truly are a game changer! Looking forward to the final video on this.
On a side note, 20 years ago I did 80 repetitions on each arm using 10 pounds inside 2 minutes. I could not open my arms for a week. 😂
LOL!
Dr. Chung. Thank you for your great video! Do you accept new patients with Medicare Advantage plans insurance? Can these patients get referrals from their family doctors for making appointments to consult you? Please kindly help and advise.
Thank you so much! So helpful!
Doctor did ram his finger up my bottom viciously and I felt violated and Ive had a miscarriage and now I've been having spasms down there and across my entire abdomen. 😢
I watch you so much it’s like a tv show 📺😢
Thank you, Dr. Chung!
Those spasms are just cruel
That’s exactly what I’ve been going through for years. Im so stressed I can’t relax 🥵
Your the best Doc, thank you 😊
Thanks for the info again Doc!
Hi Dr. Chung. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You are a gem in the medical community.
Question: Do you recommend taking citrus bio-flavonoids with Rutin to help with hemorrhoids.
This is so true 😢 I feel like my butt area muscles are always tight 😢😢
Thanks DR for all your videos.
Welcome!
Hello dr. U r simply amazing. I would like to ask u if u could give us yr opinion about colonoscopies. If they are safe procedures and worth it concerning all the horror stories we hear about them. I am terrified to have one. Thanks
I love you doc...thank God for you.
Thank you Dr Chung. I can relate to this so much. Can this condition cause frequent urination? I am seeing a link where once I have a bowel movement I am then struck with a constant urge to pee.
Yes.
I want a doctor like you !!!!! thank you ,,, my doctor when I told her I had pain in my rectum just said "I do not know anything about that" She did not even look at my bottom.. you know I have to drive an hour to see her. Gosh. what the heck. Yes, i do have anxiety and depression. Never thought it could be my mind causing this pain in my ass. Good grief what next? Nope, should not ask that question. lol
Hey Doc. When is the next video out on resolution about spasm?
Off topic can you please clarify one thing
I am divided by hazelnuts are they good for the war against hemorrhoids ? Should I be taking them or avoiding to not worsen my situation ?
Generally, I know that hazelnuts are very healthy food to take
Great information 🎉😊
My doctors can't even give me a diagnosis
Can you make a video about the Levatur Ani Syndrome? it is confuse with hemorroids.
I got the same due to stress due to loss of family member, buying a new house and divorce all factors now unable to sit lie down etc
Can you set up a clinic in the UK please!??
Would you call these Proctalgia or Levator Ani Syndrome?
Thank you for this video Dr Chung. This is everything I’m going through right now. I just got diagnosed with Levator Ani syndrome. Can you talk more about it? Like treatments.
Hi, have the same and it will be good to have more information about this. There is not much info.
Are you in a treatment for that?
@@Papogonz yes. I started physical therapy yesterday. What are your symptoms?
@@tiffanylandayan1677 Pain mostly when seating for longer periods and when have to poop... my doctor found out that is that syndrome and not a fissure that he thought.
Do you think medication for stress can work to fix this problem?
I'm new to hemorrhoids just got diagnosed with internal and external definitely finding the internal ones the most difficult and now dealing with the spasms it all sucks...
You know the slang term butt hurt are you. Well this is actually true. Not all the time for me but sometimes. Thank you
Hello Dr Chung!!!
I had recurrent fissure this year and it lead to anal spasm since 1 month which is not going even after taking sitz bath regularly and applying diltiazem .I'm just worried that when will this spasm go.
Hi doctor,
I can relate so much to this. I have a question: if I feel I need to push and I have already fissures and hemorroides, do I need to wait? I have a spasms as well. I know I bleed, so for this reason I am scared to push.
Many thanks in advance!
Ps: I have a spasms because of stress and anxiety
This me! Thank goodness i found this! Im having little to no pain during bm, but 30 minutes later i start feeling the raw and burning feeling in my anus and rectum. Then spasms through out the day. Once i have a bm my day is over. Im sitting on ice packs during day and epsom salt bath at night. Multple bm days are a nightmare. My stools arent hard but as you stated my anus clinches when its go time and im straining to pass a normal or even softer stool.
Hi Doctor.
So I took a perianal abscess surgery, it's been 15 days and there is no pain, no swelling but the wound is still open and healing, there is some white discharge maybe pus.
*I want to ask how long did in general that drainage last after surgery. Is it normal or it can be fistula*
And also at the time of surgery, my proctologist checked for fistula but there is no internal opening
I'm having annal pain during periods what to do? Plz help
So what is the solution? I’m fighting fissure for more than a year…
take it one day at a time.. keep a symptom / food / BM diary and find a ‘routine’ you can sustain.. relearn to breath, sit and defecate - find peace with your bathroom 🚽
I have saved helpful videos on this channel I hope will help you and any others on this 💩full journey. 🍀
I thought after removing the hemorrhoids things will go better now is 9 weeks since I had surgery, and now every time I go for number 2 , I get anal spasm that last a for hours, the struggle is real, thank you Dr, you are the only one that I have that takes this seriously, the surgeon didn’t even give 1 minute of his time.
How are you lhad done m'y laser sergury
i have sharp needle sharp pain when i am constipated and it hurts so much before i wanna go #2. I had to lay down and roll and it doesn't help.
So does the pain cause the spasm or does the spasm cause the pain? I'm confused
