Im from Brazil doctor, you save my life, 5 months of bleeding after a hemorrhoidectomy without support from the surgeon, grade 4, the exercises saved me, thank you very much!
You have been an angel for me. I'm not able to see proctologist for another 5 weeks. Right now my sphincter is so tight. Just happened all of a sudden after an adjustment to my sacrum. In the past never had issue. I would have to run to the bathroom because it was coming out either way! I've been trying relaxation techniques to no avail. This is one of the most difficult things I've gone. Flipped my world upside-down. Again so grateful 🙏 I found you❤
Being a school teacher for over 20 years I think I trained my sphincter to be locked shut. I couldn't fart in the middle of class. I did a lot of holding back gas! Being retired now maybe I can retrain it.
God bless you lady. My wife is a kindergarten teacher and she goes through similar exercises if you will and I feel the utmost sorrow for her when she can’t seem to get a bathroom break when she feels like it. That seems to come up a lot at the dinner table.
After 2 months of pure google/scholar reading, nothing compares to the comfort of your knowledge. Much appreciated. 2 months in & good know know I’m at least more than halfway done.
I'm so glad I found this channel because I've suffered from it for about 10 years and now waiting for an operation for an inguinal hernia due to straining every time I go to the toilet.
Thank you so much for the videos you put out. Early July, I had a perianal abscess drained. After not healing all the way, found out I had an anal fistula. I had fistulotomy surgery 15 days ago. I like my surgeon, but I feel like I've learned far more from your channel than from him. I don't have much pain anymore, but still some pus drainage. I did about 8-9 days of liquid, soft foods, low fiber diet before beginning to mix my regular diet back in. Probably about 80-90% there now. Also did 3 sitz baths a day until yesterday. I was curious how long I should continue the sitz baths for? My plan was cut back to 2 a day over the weekend, then 1 a day after and until fully healed. I'm not in any significant pain. Bowel movements are still less than pleasant, but a bidet spray bottle and fragrance/alcohol free dude wipes have helped out for that.
Do you have a video or could you please make a video discussing stapled hemorrhoidectomy or PPH? Not much on here talking about it. Thanks and God bless!
Love from Texas , can we please get a new video on fissure flare ups or how to check if it’s an actual tear? can a single hard bowel cause it to tear again? Or could it just be a flare up
My surgeon did laser or heat removal? On my internal grade 2 hemorrhoids and an external. I am day 36 post op and not healing any longer. My wound is red and no longer leaking anything. It’s the worst. It’s back to being like glass when I poo. He’s blaming that I’m having a flare up of ulcerative colitis… and put me on prednisone for next two weeks and told me to hang in there. WHEN WILL THIS NIGHTMARE END?!
You are so good in explaining thanks but I am in severe chronic pain I have levator ani spasm since 2 years and I tried everything even botox once nothing helps thanks again let me know if you can help me pls
I'm suffering from the opposite problem my Sphincter muscle is released and when i set on chair in class it becomes more released so start leaking gas and its so embarrassing and stressful😢
Dr. Chung, your videos are so helpful. I am a huge fan. I have a question: Is there a relationship to one's visceral fat and constipation. I am a thin, 57 year old white male but I am thinking that I have a lot of visceral fat based on poor diet. I also have a history of constipation. I am on a low-carb diet and I also started a probiotic. I also take a mix of chia seeds, flax seeds, and a magnesium pill to help with my chronic constipation but I am now learning about the harm of visceral fat. Does this affect constipation or "butt issues"? Thank you
Hello Dr Chung, you addressed the very thing that bothers me the most. With Tenesmus I feel like I have to poo all day long. Èven when there is nothing there. I feel like I have to take the biggest poo in my life. The spasms get so bad that they hurt like a charly horse. Since I have been taking PT it is getting a little better, but my pelvic floor is still the opposite of a bowl and 2 inches out of place.
@@naturegirl4074 It is unbelievably irritating and it changed your life because you are always looking for a bathroom you can't walk 5 min without getting the urge to go. And it gets to the point where it is extremely painful. I follow a low residue diet, do physical therapy and I take a pain medication.
Sir i am suffering from fissure for past 5 months, the cure was better with many cuts in the pathway, the cut was lesser than the previous, but this time dnt know wat happened, I think I have got a cut like the first time, how is it so? means al the efforts have gone in vain? I have been following your each video n try to stick your methods but this time the pain I as m in makes me feel things have got the same?
Hi I am from Bangladesh. I wish Dr Chung I can consult with you. You are always make me hopeful. Iam suffering from chronic fissure. I always feel hopeless...
Thank you for this. I’ve been battling a tight anus for years now because of built up stress and anxiety leading to chronic constipation, pain and irritation. I’m going to keep this practising these techniques until I recover.❤
ok folks for what it is worth, this is what changed things for me. I run a very controlled diet. My pooping was infrequent and eratic. Anal muscles had the death grip! Prolapse, fissures.. No bueno. I added ONE thing into my diet that had been absent for months and a week later everything started to change. Egg Yolks. Is it the choline? Maybe! Can't say for sure. So suddenly my regularity got a lot better. I'm basically going every day now once a day. Sometimes twice. Now for the prolapse and fissure, I applied daily vaseline. Daily! And slowly but surely things improved and continue to improve.
After 3 months of treating myself for hemorrhoids, I finally saw a surgeon. A short exam later, no hemorrhoids. Your internal anal sphincter is too tight. Good grief!
I might go see a surgeon but I’m nervous of what they’ll do. It just feels really tight all the time and it’s been this way for like 5 months idk if it’s just my diet or a hemorrhoid
I have a question about where the colon meets the anus. Have you ever seen a patient that had a restriction in this specific area that was caused by a very hard stool? I ate a bowl of oatmeal years back and it set up inside of me like concrete. I pushed extremely hard to get it out. And after that every stool is now ribbon thin and hard to expel. I had a colonoscopy and they said they didn't find anything. But I think they are missing it because that instrument is inserted to far in and past my problem area. Is there a medical term for where the colon connects to the anus? Have you ever seen that area collapsed or damaged? Can you have a hernia in that area?
I certainly have heard of situations such as yours. The recto-anal junction the connection point. Hernias are possible, but are unlikely in your context without previous surgery. Best to you!
@@yourfriendlyproctologist Thank you. Is there a test I can ask for the Dr. to perform to check this area? I'm having a hard time getting any Dr to listen to me. I had perfect round stools until this incident. They keep telling me things like eat fiber (which got me into this mess). The surgeons in my area all work for the same company. I'd like to go somewhere else because they are not listening to me. But I have no other colon Dr's around.
I've got so many issues myself and can't get anyone to listen, look 70 lbs and full of stool, no urge to go anymore, this has been traumatizing, have you found any help @@ScottAyersStuff

What if you've had a sphincterotomy
Dr. Chung, is it okay for men and women to practice the PC muscle (pelvic floor) exercises if they have either internal or external hemorrhoids?
I thought loud farts were mainly from the butt cheeks flapping together. I had no idea it was a tight internal sphincter.
😭😭😭
How can I stop the pain and leaking problems I've been having it's driving me crazy🤪
