Like them or not, the sales figures show just how right Axopar got their designs. They’ve really shaken up their sector of the market. The mark 2 versions show they’re keen to keep the pressure on their competition....

Not a bad little day boat or tender. I take it that the toilet also has a shower in the sink unit? Thankyou again.

Sorely tempted with one of these. Slightly put off by the fact I can't make a cup of tea on it. Unless I'm missing something?

Versatile? I guess for a center console, but you walk down the dock and you'll find way more versatile boats, ones with more sleeping, actually kitchen, more seating, a bridge, shower, equipt for fishing, shower, even in less length.

Bob: you forget crucially price in your view of versatility.... and the fact you’re dealing with a boat with only 20+ hours on it. Who knows why the owner wants to sell after such a short period of ownership. I can only say thank god for them. I’ve just bought a very nice motorbike owned by a similar individual (pristine condition, low mileage, basically an unused toy).
Just quickly to your other points:
More sleeping; more money, a bridge; lots more money or much older, fishing; this is England - we fish in basic Mitchell 31’s, luxury they ain’t as you say, kitchen; sort of irrelevant for a Day Boat. More importantly somewhere for cold beer, cold Prosecco and a cold meat salad (green stuff!). Where this boat is moored there are (and about to re-open) more great quality restaurants than you can shake a stick at. I would love to help Jack demo it to The Hut (he picks the tab up hopefully).
Must dash - I’m off to Newtown Creek for a spot of lunch on board. Google it, I’m guessing you’re not local! It might change you mind about what you need....

@MrAbletospeak All boats should have outhouses. Going out for a minute or five at night, far and away beats spending the remaining 8 hours inhaling odors. Even on airliners, which have much, much more effective vacuum than even the fanciest vacuflush boat head, the 10 nearest rows aren't exactly pleasant.
On a boat this small and low priced, with an emphasis on speed, easy on-off and deck space, a permanent stovetop and gas locker may not be the best use of space. Nothing wrong with a camp stove which can be packed away. In practice, the cabin is cramped enough as it is. They should offer a battery fridge instead of just a passive coolbox, though.....
You have to remember the price they are selling this at. As well as its dynamic, "sport boat" emphasis. It's the only real "economical" "SUV" type boat, designed primarily for young, active singles/couples more interested in thrills and water-sporty stuff, than in family vacation cruising. If you care more about the latter, the market is already packed with established options from France and elsewhere.
And if you don't mind paying double or more, you can get a Targa 25 or similar. Which has a more functional galley. While still having a proper outhouse! Yeah!! (In all honesty, the Targa also feels like twice or more the boat. Especially with the D6 option (making it closer to 3 times the price...) But still, this one objectively pretty much does all he same stuff. While also looking less like something an old dude with a combover, who smokes cigarettes and cares more about shot glasses than kayaks, would own.......

Perfect boat for northern europeans who commute in the archipelago. A warm cabin, economical hull and easy to dock even single handed.

    • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@NicolaiRosenberg The ease of docking, and anchoring, and tying up to almost anything, is a big selling point. It's also light enough that you can get a lot of things "wrong", without it causing too much of an issue.

I think that there is no such thing like “the most versatile boat”, it depends on the missing, the same thing as a car. I bet that boat is awesome, but I don’t thing is the most versatile, but nice buy ! Have fun

It's ok but just like all boats it's twice the price that they should be. That suede steering wheel and seating is a terrible idea in a boat, it will take ages to dry and it makes it harder to slide past in a tight cockpit. Style over practicality 👎🏼

In the Instagram-and-everyone-invading-everyone era, everyone strives to look like anything whatsoever, other than what almost everyone actually is: A dude who wants to go for an uneventful and comfortable cruise on the water in nice weather....... So, nowadays, every simple dayboat or weekender, needs to look like it was designed to be singlehanded across Antarctica by a bunch of Navy Seals on a "mission" to "liberate" Somalia from "pirates." and Putin.
It's the same story with cars: They're still almost exclusively used the way sedans and station wagons have always been: To go to work and to the store and to drop off kids. Yet by now, they somehow "need" to look "aggressive", "fast", "rugged," "expensive" what have you.
A bit (actually more than a bit.....) silly. But that's the world we live in.....
This Axopar is a very practical, and rather well priced, boat for usages requiring lots of getting on and off, and quickly getting going and packing it away, though. While still affording, even if a bit cramped, space for more traditional weekending type uses. It's not a bad boat, even if it looks a bit silly (and feels a bit like a cheap toy compared to more expensive boats.)
