- Snow Monkey Park is a park located in Nagano, Japan for observing wild Japanese monkeys. It is a tourist spot, known for its wild monkeys soaking in hot springs in winter🐒♨️
We stayed at a hot spring inn called Jigokudani Korakukan, which is the closest to Snow Monkey Park. The ryokan has open-air baths, and wild monkeys also come, so if you're lucky, you can bathe together! It is a very nice ryokan with a long history and a family atmosphere. I was very moved when I took a bath with a monkey. I have never seen monkeys so close!
Snow monkeys are famous, but not many people know that there are hot springs where you can bathe with wild monkeys. At Korakukan, you can enjoy the hot springs without staying overnight until 3:00 pm, so be sure to check it out. Don't forget your swimsuit!

Hello I have a question
From the VDO, which month did you visit?
because the atmosphere is very beautiful
So I can try to plan a trip during that month.
thank you.
Quick question: does jigokudani means ways to hell?
that little sign “please close the door because monkey will come in” is so cute

@@___xyz___thank you🙌
Yes but when they are shit small stinky cake in your room not sure you think that sooooooo cuuuuuuuute ... Shit is shit , monkey or not and its NEVER CUTE !
This is one of the coolest Ryokan. The monkeys are so cute and it’s amazing you can bath with them. What a beautiful onsen too. The landscape is so peaceful.
Have you been there? How lucky you are! This is on my bucket list ^^
DID YOU ASK THE ANIMALS? TOURISM IS ONLY RUINING YOUR FUN YOU THINK
@@wd1534 Sadly not. Just judged based on this video. But I want there to go too.
@@user-xx1qz8vs4o Idk monkeys seemed quite relaxed.
@@kirak1561 BECAUSE THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THEY WILL GET DISEASES THEY HAVE BEEN USED TO THE TOURIST LIFESTYLE SAD
Absolutely beautiful. I’m 65 yrs old and I have never seen snow falling from the sky. It’s a bucket list item for sure.
Wow where are you from? I guess there are many places where it doesn't snow
Really? You need to get out more
@@scottm9707Yeah, vacations cost a lot of money a d that is not doable for everyone.
It a wee bit overrated when you’ve had it allyour life 😂 and it makes driving a drag
@@OrangeTabbyCatFor some people it's not a fortune
LOL I love the monkey in the Ryokan's bath looking like "'What's up!", like they're so used to people being there and are fine with it as long as you leave them be. 😁 Just beautiful with the snow. I'm in the USA in Pennsylvania and although we normally get a lot of snow this time of year, it's wet and gross right now.
So beautiful, I love it! I'm 16 years old now and can't afford this expensive travel to Japan (In my country travel to Japan would cost me at least 1700$+ for 1 human for 7 days...) But I have a goal, so I would visit Japan in the future! Snow monkeys, wait for me!
I am Japanese but I have never been outside the prefecture 10 times lol.
As soon as you go to the city, you run out of money.
for 1 human as opposed to what?
i think every weeb should learn the dark side of Japan! maybe then y’all wouldn’t idolized it so much, it’s a country not a utopia, and every country has a flawed and dark history.
@@oscarthagrouch Where i said that it's an utopia? Probably nowhere. I know the dark sides of Japan, but 1. Yes, every country isn't ideal, 2. Japan now isn't that bad as it was like 100 years ago, and 3. In top 5 countries I want to visit Japan is only on fourth place.
I think that people should know about country problems, but saying everywhere "(Insert country name) isn't that good as you think" must be stopped imo, cause only kids idealize anything. And also, my country is way more worse that Japan because of criminals. I just want to move out of it.
11:05 when you open the door and 2 monkeys casually sit in the hot tub just looking at you like just like humans would do in the same situation haha. Thanks for sharing :)
I just love that there are beautiful and unique historic places like this to stay in Japan. Thank you SO much for showing us all the beautiful places you show us! ♥
Call me crazy, but I’ve always have wanted to take a hot spring bath with Snow Monkeys; I didn’t know it was a real thin until now!
Definitely putting this spot on my bucket list of destinations.
its not a crazy thought to take a hot spring bath with snow Monkeys.
i doubt they go to the washroom to do thier business.
As another guy said, the reality is a lot dirtier and less romantic than you think.
I wouldn't. These monkeys will go to the toilet right there. They have no understanding of etiquette.
I remember seeing features of snow monkeys shown when the 1998 Winter Olympics took place in Nagano. I hadn't realized there were such cold and snowy areas in Japan until then. I thoroughly enjoyed this feature and look forward to viewing it again at bedtime. Under an electric blanket! Thank you.
no way it was only $300 USD! i feel if we had this in America owners would charge 1,000s of USD per night.. This and many of your other videos makes me want to take a months long trip to enjoy all of the beautiful things Japan has to offer. it doesn’t seem to be budget breaking and overly expensive either.
300 dollars for Japanese probably feels similar to 1k for Americans...it's 45k yen, a week worth of wage

Great To See Places Where Monkeys Aren't Abused.
Extremely beautiful place! The monkey are awesome! Winter in Nagano is wonderful! The old ryokan is also very interesting, I like these little historical authentic places more than well-known museums and palaces. Doumo!
Such an interesting and beautiful place. The monkeys look very healthy and content with the environment that humans designed to help keep them safe and out of trouble. A very thoughtful and innovative project! They certainly don't have any problems with hanging out with humans. Another wonderful video!
Wow!!! How cool and amazing of an experience!! Thanks like always for bringing us all along! 🙈 🙉 🙊 I live in New York USA and we get a lot of snow at times. Love the beauty of the snow.

This was so fun to watch. The monkey's are so cute. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Oh my goodness and monkeys are adorable. I don’t know how they live like that cold like that. I know it’s hot Springs. I hope they all get fed. Well they all look like they’re doing OK that poor one monkey had a hurt hand. Hopefully he got in the hot water and be OK, they’re all adorable. Thanks For sharing, they all adorable🥰🌅❤️💕
That would be an awesome experience! Thank you for showing us! ❤️
Nature is perfect🐒. Thank you for sharing ☺️
When I lived in Japan some of my friends and I went to Nagano to camp during spring break, it was arguable the greatest camping experiences of my life! The Monkeys were everywhere! I got some amazing pictures and videos, and bathing in the hot springs was wonderful! Would do again in a heartbeat!
What an excellent video! Thanks so much for making and uploading it. Really evocative in a sensory way and of course, inspiring and engrossing. Can't wait to return to Japan.
11:09 They are like " hmm come in baby I been waiting so long 🤣🤣🤣
That was so interesting and lovely.
thank you so much for this tour
im from italy and i've never experienced such a calm a nice mood
its rephreshing
Thank you for sharing! Very beautiful!
7:57 Did that dude just run around without a shirt or a coat??
Also, this seems like something that definitely wouldn't fly out where I'm at. Sharing a hot spring with monkeys (or any animal), ignoring the potential sanitation issues, the people out here where I live would definitely try to mess with those poor animals.
Once again, only in Japan can you find such an interesting place.
Yea it looked like he was freezing lol the way he was running
It looks really beautiful here. 🥳 As a southerner, I haven't seen the real snow once so far, so I really want to go to the location of the video to have a look. 🥰 The monkeys look very cute! I really want to see it with my own eyes. Finally, thank you for your video production. It makes me experience a different Japanese scenery! 🫶
That is so cool! I remember the winter Olympics were there! Here in Canada we get a lot of snow, but this year very cold, -10 to -30C with the wind! Must dress warm! So beautiful, even in Canada I have not seen such landscape!!! I wish we had hot spring here...the food looks so good too and I also LOVE peaches! The peaches are amazing in the late summer here. Wish I could visit someday!
The monkeys are adorable! Love the video!
Estoy impactada. ❤️
Wao! It looks so magical and seems sooo beautiful ❤️🌸

That is so beautiful! If I ever get chance to visit Japan, I'll go there! I love snow monkeys, they are so cute and so well behaved! They look so sweet with their thick fur!
That's a lovely inn and the food provided looks ever so delicious!
Paradise ❤️ I didn’t want the video to end 🏔✨
This is so cool! I’ve been to the snow monkey park but never knew you could bathe with them!! 😮
Please could you visit a whisky distillery! Globally, Japanese Whisky is regarded as one of the best :)

best Snow attraction ever, really beautiful and awesome sceneries. The monkeys are so cute and tame, also love to saw them relaxing at onsen, also the Ryokan is really cool and unique, well its very old but maintaned ryokan, maybe when i ever can go to that ryokan, imma spending my time to watch those Monkeys and bathe with them. i dont think i can do watch tv or play tennis haha
this trip is amazing, unique, interesting and very funny. thank you for sharing with us. i like it a lot.
Hello! Thank you for the beautiful and lovely capture 😃 Stay warm and healthy. Have a wonderful day 😊
Thank you for sharing the experience. Such a unique place, even compared to other thermal baths in Japan and the rest of the world.
Wow, it's just super, they're so cute. How I want to stay in Japan😊😊😊😊

What an amazing experience!! My husband and I have always wanted to go there and see the snow monkeys. We live in Indiana. Our winters are somewhat mild but can get very cold with lots of snow.
This was a nice video to watch . Very relaxing not to mention the views are spectacular
How peaceful! The weather even looks warm compared to where I am, it's -21 C here today! 😅
What a beautiful and special place to stay. It must have been amazing to bathe with those monkeys
This was absolutely fantastic, and so incredibly beautiful and precious ❤️ The location is phenomenal and the monkeys beautiful 😍 They must be so cold but have the hot springs at least plus the man made water pipes for warmth 😊 this really was a stunning video of an amazing location 😊
Its very beautiful!
What a beautiful place!
why was there a half-naked man in the middle of winter? 😅 @ 7:57
Just wait until you see polar bear swims. We do that here in Canada when it is -20c to -30c always with other people because the sudden cold can cause you to collapse. Saying that though, cold weather jokes are fun. How can you tell its spring in Canada?
It's -10c and people are wearing shorts. It is and isn't a joke people really do wear shorts while shoveling snow when its that cold.
Snow ❄️ monkeys 🙈 are so docile and peaceful ❤ what a beautiful place!
I loved it there. I took a photo of a baby monkey there and see the picture everyday in my home. I hope shes all grown up and blessed and living the good life.
Thank you fot shating your video.
Thanks for sharing. It’s so cool👍
What a great trip. I didn't know you could bathe with the monkeys!
Amazingggg !! I love japan
I’m Japanese and I’d never heard of this place before until we found your video. My husband has always wanted to go see them, so we stayed there last week. Even in the same room :) It was full of their poop (eew), but we were in awe. Definitely once in a lifetime trip. Thanks to you guys! We always enjoy your videos. Love from Canada.
Edit to add: for those saying the monkey pee/poo or whatnot… you’re right. It was simply gross. But the owner of the place empties and cleans the entire tub at 8am every day, and they test the water to make sure there’s no unsafe diseases. You can wash your body with soap right away once you go inside as well. Again, it was absolutely disgusting bathing in their pee and poo, but here I am well and alive. It was something I would do once in my entire life. And I’m glad that I did!
🙌🙌🙌
Those monkeys are so cuddly wuddly!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺✋🐒🤚
THAT PLACE IS AWESOME
I watched a documentary on the Japanese Snow Monkeys, thanks for the tour!💕🐒
Lovely monkeys ❤️
Great video. Well done, thank you.

Woah!!! Amazing!!!
I *knew* that house had to be something special when I visited that area about 10 years ago. Damn it, never knew it was a ryokan we could've stayed in! Guess I gotta go again.
