Also, BB cream supposedly works wonders. And spuffs! (sunscreen) Also, having EDS can make your skin look younger for longer; one of the few perks of this damn disease. If you're visiting Japan and don't know what to get for your friends and family back home, head to a Japanese supermarket. You'll get all you'll need and more, and you won't have to reshuffle your luggage at the airport :D
Hi Simon and Martina! I used to work at Coco Curry in Hawaii and I have a peanut allergy. It wasn't until after two bowls of curry I realized I was having a mild allergy reaction to it and not a weird stomachache. I assume that's why Coco Curry tastes different, if not better, to other Japanese curries. I was wondering if you know if other Japanese curry restaurants or instant brands also include nuts in their recipe? Or if it's just Coco curry. Love your guy's videos, always puts a smile to my face :)
I'm helping out the lady that cleans my eyebrows at her shop and she's an absolute sweetheart and forced me to go and break and "enjoy TH-cam" so I put this video on thinking I'd be safe.... it was on full volume, she was listening and the client was watching along. Soo agree with the Jap mayo can buy them in Australia Woolworths so easily usually $7au for a big 700g mayo or $4-$5au for a small 200g mayo. My partner and I can go through 1 in less than a week hahaha we absolutely love it

Traveling around supermarkets is totally NOT weird! I love doing that is every country I visit! Best way to get a feel of everyday life in that country. Supermarket or outdoor markets are great!
En Igmah Actually I got it from the friend I talked about in the video who eats the package, Ryan, he’s an artist! HauserHands is his art name. He gave me that sushi shirt everyone loves and also this huge scarf. I wasn’t sure what to do with it so I googled it and was able to make this colourful head wrap. My mom is a chef so we always check out all the grocery stores. It's so interesting to see what stores stock in different parts of the country, and even town to town!
Supermarkets? Absolutely- even traveling to other regions within the US and seeing really different products is fun. I send pictures to our kids of the unusual things I see while shopping.
I went out with someone from Japan for a few years, and there were two food commandments that still stick in my mind. 1. ALWAYS buy Kewpie mayonnaise. DO NOT buy any other kind - ever. 2. There is no such thing as too much Kewpie mayonnaise.
Every time I wander through a new city, I find a reason to visit any grocery provider. I am enthralled by what a new food the place can bring me. Gets my hunter-gather instincts all in a frenzy. Must hoard new foods.
I live in the usa, I work near a Japanese grocery store. I switched to using that Japanese mayonnaise brand about two years ago. It is so much better then the stuff made here.
When my partner and I go traveling we love heading to supermarkets and farmers markets! Looking at local produce, different brands and odd products, as well as comparing prices is part of the tourist experience!!
I love Japanese supermarkets. For non-edible gifts I like to go to 100 yen shops (e.g. Daiso) and just get a bunch of little cute things - anything from stationary, school supplies, stickers and decorations, to kitchen sponges, tissue packets, or even nail trimmers (they have cute ones!). Most 100 yen shops also have Made-in-Japan dishware that’s really impressive for the price. Dollar store gifts might seem boring or cheap in theory, but in my experience Japanese 100 yen products are pretty good quality and people really love those kinds of practical-yet-unique gifts.
They have channel memberships you can do that are about 5 bucks a month! You get some extra videos once a month or so to enjoy and some special emojis in live chats you can use. Otherwise, you can just catch them in a live chat sometime and do a super chat for whatever amount you want to send them. Hopefully TH-cam adds some levels into channel memberships soon, I know a lot of people would definitely like to donate more than $5 a month! For the totally broke (such as myself atm), just turn off adblockers and don't skip ads when they play, and then they can receive money that way. If I'm thinking of the same candy, then the first ones are called Puchao. They have them(or something very similar)at Daiso here and they market them as Puchao 👌 They are delicious!
Yes I love going to supermarkets, especially when I travel. It kinda gives a sneak peek of the food culture of that country/area. Also kinda feels like a treasure hunt searching for the good local stuff!
Same! I love to visit supermarkets in foreign countries. Love it so much that it became a running joke w my friends that I do my grocery run overseas lol. But in all honesty, supermarkets are like, the best place to see how locals live their life and you can see soooo many things and products that aren't available in our own place! (Plus they're also a cheap alternate for souvenirs )
So for people in North America (specifically those located in the Midwest): if you want to try the stuff that they mentioned in this video, go to Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield Ohio. I went yesterday and found most of everything in this video and some other yummy things that they have showcased in other videos. The only thing I couldn’t find was that specific candy and the Chinese cucumbers. I just made tuna with kewpi mayo and Simon was not lying, it was tasty. Not only that but they have sections for many many other countries.
NO ONE ELSE EVER UNDERSTANDS THE GRAPE THING I had grape flavor grapes for the first time in Korea XD I always thought grape flavor was nothing like real grapes.
Hey! I have watched your video for a long time now and I have to say that this video style is great! I love to just hang out with you guys and learning more about Japan. It’s very relaxing and fun! Hope to see more!
I also love going to other countries grocery stores! It gives me an idea of how local's live/eat. I've always had that curiosity, but I think it's been amplified because I've worked at a grocery store for 6 years. I'm still interested for the sociology? of if, but now the business aspect as well. Seeing how they merchandise, the products that are being sold, the layout of the store.
Ahhhhh damn I can relate so much lol we went to france once (we live in belgium so it isnt thaaaaat far) with the car on a 2 hour trip just to go to a supermarket. Oh and usually on school trips I also love to explore the supermarkets so when we went to paris last year, I had a wonderful time and I went into almost every supermarket i saw, but when we were in Germany (Berlin) we didnt even see a supermarket and we’d have to walk for an hour to get to one so we didnt... and I was really bummed out... I was really looking forward to going to one.... I suppose thats also because of my crazy curiosity so that I just want to know how people in other countries... go to... supermarkets.....???? Anyways! Really enjoyed this video!!! Thinking about making a part 2 perhaps??;;;;;))))??;;;)??????
I'm visiting Japan right now with my husband and this is the best!! Can't wait to get some of these to bring back home. We've been watching you guys for years now and now that we're in Japan we always wonder if we will randomly run into you guys, lol!
Supermarkets all the way!! I love going to super markets to see the types of things they sell there, plus it's a cheaper way to get some really great and unique souvenirs. Plus it's just fun to browse. My boyfriend and I usually go get food then bring it back to our airbnb so we can just snack all day.

I live in south Texas and I am lucky to be able to have access to quite alot of Japanese candy options! Love y'alls videos!! Can't wait for the next one! ❤
Kerry Sue Same! We have a cute little Japanese grocery in SA called Minnano - they have a good selection of candies and snacks.
Wow!! We go to World Market and and Central Market! I will have to try that place too! Thanks!
Today is my birthday so I made a special trip! Loved it in there, thanks again!
Nice! Happy Birthday!
"Once you mix the cockade..."

(Furikake. But nice try.)
If I'm thinking of the same candy, then the first ones are called Puchao. They have them(or something very similar)at Daiso here and they market them as Puchao 👌 They are delicious!
The scene of Martina having candy rain on her then realising the reality of it, them candies will scratch - it's too adorable xD
Yes I love going to supermarkets, especially when I travel. It kinda gives a sneak peek of the food culture of that country/area. Also kinda feels like a treasure hunt searching for the good local stuff!
NOTIFICACIÓN SQUAD!!!!!!!! Hi guys! We all love you, now I'm going to see the video. Kiss kiss.
THE BEST SQUAAAAD!
Simon- I don’t use ranch dressing anymore.
Me- whaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!
What ranch tastes like? I don't have it in my country
Simon in North America you can order Kewpie mayo off Amazon.
Random but your doggy looks like mine with different colored fur.
You guys are my true insight into life in Japan. Sending lots of love from Australia. I miss Japan.
That cucumber recipe looks so good wth! Wish I could get my hands on that! 💖
I feel like this video will get Demonetized because of Simon. Lol 😂
Video music on point, as always. I would seriously listen to your music if you decided to produce a spotify playlist.
Love the supermarkets and of course the basement food halls!!! It’s Heaven!!!!
Kewpie mayo is the best. I'm so... grateful they sell it in the asian markets near my house.
NO ONE ELSE EVER UNDERSTANDS THE GRAPE THING
I had grape flavor grapes for the first time in Korea XD I always thought grape flavor was nothing like real grapes.
Saw the thumb and yelled ME TOOOOOOO inside my head. Theyre like ginormous treasure chests you can walk around in!!!!

Simon: Any questions?
Me: Yeah, wtf
