‘No evidence’ to support Bruce Pascoe’s ‘Dark Emu’: Warren Mundine

Aboriginal leader Warren Mundine says there is “no evidence” to support Bruce Pascoe’s best-selling book ‘Dark Emu’.
The claims made in Pascoe’s book - which is used as a school resource - were recently criticised by respected academics Keryn Walshe and Peter Sutton, who said Pascoe “distorts and exaggerates many old sources”.
Mr Mundine told Sky News host Peta Credlin ‘Dark Emu’ contained “complete exaggerations” and it was “verging on the fraudulent”.
“I’ve sent a couple of tweets out to Sarah Mitchell … and to Gladys Berejiklian to get this book out of school,” he said.
“It is propaganda, it is nonsense, and it is painting a false image of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in this country.”
