I've been a fan of Stabbing since 1996. They have kept trying even up to 2022. Great job on this non-studio performance!

What's mind-boggling is they just released a new album called Chasing Ghosts and it's actually really good. It resembles their old sound.

Stabbing Westward (Wither, Blister, Burn + Peel), Nine Inch Nails (The Downward Spiral - Pretty Hate Machine - Broken), Candlebox (Candlebox), Smashing Pumpkins (Siamese Dream - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness), Type O Negative (October Rust - Bloody Kisses), White Zombie (Astrocreep 2000), Deadsy (Commencement - Deadsy), Fear Factory (Obsolete - Demanufacture), Orgy (Candyass), Clan of Xymox (Creatures), Korn (Korn - Life Is Peachy), Ministry (Psalm 69), London After Midnight (Psycho Magnet) ... along with assorted David Bowie, The Cure, and Metallica ... this was my adolescence in the 90s

They had many great guitar riffs and an awesome overall feel / experience thanks to solid bass lines, awesome synth sounds, and excellent vocals. They definitely deserve more attention than they got.

Agreed. I think all the attention that groups like Nine Inch Nails and Tool got, kind of took away from Stabbing Westward. Don't get me wrong, I love those bands too, but it just seemed SW never got all the love they truly deserved.

I saw their last show ever in Toronto in a small venue - it was incredible. I got to meet Chris and was pretty much front row the entire show. I miss Stabbing Westward to this day, wishing they'd get back together.

I loved these guys so hard when I was a kid. I still enjoy their music just as much, but I just got back into listening to them recently. I saw them with Placebo in April 1999, and it was one of the best musical experiences of my life. They never got the attention they deserved, but the people who knew about them really "got" them. They opened with a version of "Slipping Away" with an extended synth intro and it was freaking incredible.
A very unique fusion of electronics and an actual band. If you like that sort of thing, the shortlived band Thenewno2 are a similar fusion, with a less hard aesthetic.
This band had everything: powerful drums, a one-of-a-kind round yet "sproingy" bass sound, unbelievable layers from synths and samplers, raucous guitars, and one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard. I don't always think the tone of the lyrics is something I identify with now, but I sure did at 14. Really needed these guys then, and all these years later I can appreciate it on even more levels.
    Great, great band.

I saw them in 99, and it was to this day one of the best concerts I've ever seen! I had a totally sober transcendental experience that night thanks to their music. Nobody who hasn't seen them could possibly understand, so I'm really grateful you know what I'm talking about. Truly a shame they never caught on more.
