Ok will do
Superb session
Thanks a ton
Hi Rodger. I would like to see some videos of you using slow pitch jigs off the beach if possible. Thanks
More soft plastics and can you try dried worms ?, I live in Bowral and would buy dried worms .
Hey Roger, my10 year old son is a great fan of yours and has made me watch every video of yours. We always wonder which beach is this one. He asked me to ask you about 😊😊
Thia was Wairo Beach 👌
👍
Not sure how you do it. I spend 2 hours with nothing and you get 2 fish with 2 casts. Good work.
Nice session Roger. Certainly persistence paid off on the light tackle. I for one would love to see more content from your off the beach using light tackle.
Okay Mark, Absolutely
Agree with you @Mark-ew5jm
Yes would love to see more plastics fishing. Great vid, as usual.
It would be good to see more soft plastic fishing Roger. I enjoyed that session. Maybe some prawn imitation plastics.
incredible. either this man has a diver hooking the fish for him to BS us or he is the real deal. If only I had 1% of his skill. This is what I call finesse fishing.
I've never tried soft plastics, but now I will. Interesting session. 👍
Love your channel Roger. More plastics would be great mate
Good morning Roger thank you for the class it is good to see you fishing on soft plastic

Great educational video as always Roger. Would definitely like to see more soft plastic beach fishing.
Also, if you haven't already, would like to see you do a shore jigging video.

I'm from cape town south africa and love your videos Roger. What I would like to see is how you catch the mulloway, like we say the Kob.
Nice to see you again Roger! I’m enjoying this new video of yours!
Thank you kindly
Hi Rodger wondering if you have ever used plastic worms and what you think of them I have bought some got no idea on how to rig them what hooks you put them on or use them your advice would be great thanks mate
Plastics off the beach is going to explode - it’s an awesome way to fish.
Yup caught a big 60cm kahawai/aussie salmon on plastic at beach last week so fun on ultra light rod ugly stick
Incredible Rodger 5sec must be a personal best 😊
Anything can happen 😊🎣
Enjoyed the content Rodger, would like to see more 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Thanks, more to come
quatter min. in that surely
Thanks!
Thanks Jim much appreciated
Thanks Roger. Great video as always. Would be great to see more on plastics.
More to come!
Yeh I love watching you beach fish plz do more plastics fishing. And I like to know when is the best time to surf fish
Nice catches Roger with the soft bit
In my country it's not useful everytime.
I try with soft shrimp in the break water
Another great session 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it
@@RogerOsborneFishing always enjoy watching your videos!!
Collaroy today was dead. Fresh worms and not a single bite. Such a big difference.
Makes us wonder sometimes, eh? All day long and not a nib even.
I tried narrabeen beach the other day, and barely got any hits. Only got some after the sun had set. Winter beach fishing can be pretty dead on the northern beaches
@@danielwutfisho sunset works. Few flatties but that's about it.
Awesome video Roger ! I was just beginning to explore soft plastics on the beach when covid hit town and those ideas got shelved but watching your video has reminded me of that idea ! I was beginning to play around with Gulp sand worms on a sort of weird paternoster rig or dropper rig as the worms are quite small and don't fit on the size jig head needed for the surf . By using this rig I can use a big enough sinker to get the casting distance and it leaves the worm to float around naturally .
Thanks Ian
Hi Roger, yeah more soft plastic and how you work that out. This session looks like you did not have to work that out very hard as the fish were starving.
Thanks 👍
Great session Rodger. Hope to try some soft plastics tomorrow however I have never caught anything with them to date 😊
It is worth pursuing, I find it quite enjoyable
Awesome
Is there any conditions that arnt ideal for fishing?
Apparently not there where Roger lives…
But meanwhile in the real world… ?!
That's awesome ❤❤
Thanks for all of these great videos!
Nice session as always Roger. I actually wait for your video to come out every week 😊. What rod were you using?
Hi Sami, I was using a Shimano Sephia BB. It is one of my squid rods but was great for tossing light plastics off the beach
Plastics are good. I’ve used them on the beach near home on the GOM Thanks!
Well done Rodger great video 😅
Thanks 👍
Good vid, good fishing. Finally getting a week on the beach myself next week. The tides are poor and the conditions are average with low swell and not ideal beach formations. But i reckon small plastics on light line might just be the go to fool the likely fussy fish!
Cool
This was awesome. Learning so much from your videos and enjoying them. Your beaches and surf are SO much more beautiful and clear than the North east US. I live in Pennsylvania and occasionally get to the New Jersey beaches and not enough. Love surf fishing. Can you do a segment on soft plastic color selection and jig size? Another Roger.
Great fun as always thank you Roger! How do you tie your lures? FG knot fluoro to braid or a swivel? Thanks for any tips! Ian
G'day Roger - once again, an enjoyable and informative video. Your surf videos have rekindled my desire to get back into beach fishing, and the idea of soft plastics in the surf has been on the drawing board for some time - but I've yet to find the ideal rod. That one you use in this video looks to be the bees' knees. Can I ask what it is?
Great to watch mate, thankyou for sharing your knowledge 👍
May i ask a question, i use 10lb braid generally with a 8-12lb fluorocarbon leader but it constantly breaks at the join on the braid side. It doesnt matter which knot i use to join the two. Mainly do soft plastic and lure fishing. Maybe I'm just casting too hard 🤣
Cheerz Roger
Mate those plastics could be good when short of time or no beach worm bait! Can you use them in rougher surf? Do you just use a heavier weight?
I think you would need a heavier jighead in rougher surf and choose the right parts of the beach
Love the video, Roger. Not really related but wondering if you were targeting say Mulloway or gummy shark would you still cast into wash on edge of drop off or would you cast into a deep gutter?
Cheers Dave
Mulloway like relief from strong currents, so I think drop offs are good. It is good to cast in all places in search of the fish
Any idea when and how to use spoon for surf fishing
Hi Roger I have never tried soft plastics but watching you and interest shown by the fish, I am going to give it a go. I guess fairly calm water is the best condition for soft plastics ?
Not too calm, surf around 1m is good
How about catching Mulloway on plastics please
good morning to you roger. i thought i would just let you know that our fishing experiance in south africa is much the sameas yours. only the name syou have for the fish are different?. our seasons are also the same. anyway!! just thought i would share some info with you.
Thanks Robbie, yes you are on the same latitude as us. I have been to South Africa and your beaches look the same as ours, even the same vegetation
Hi Roger thanks for the great video, does bright sun considered as not ideal condition for fishing?
Generally, low light periods are better and overcast conditions.
Hey Roger, it would be really good know which beaches you are fishing or even state? Cheers
Hi mate, I am in NSW on the south coast and fish many of the beaches there and also in Sydney when I'm there - they are all really great beaches. Thanks for watching!
Yes please Soft Plastic
HI,ROGER. PLEASE CAN YOU DO SOME FISHING WITH SOFT PLASTICS FROM THE BANKS OD ESTARIES AND PIERS. IM SO SICK OF ALL THE VIDEOS DONE FROME BOATS. I WOULD REALLY BE MOST GRATEFULL, FOR MORE LIGHT TACKLE FISHING FROM THE BANKS OF ESTUARIES AT NIGHT USING BAIT . THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE.
To be honest ive been fishing in quite similar conditions this past mouth many times and have gotten absolutely no luck. I've been following these strategies and the only thing I'm really doing differnet is using pilchards instead of worms. Can anyone point out some factors that may help me turn this around. Thanks!
Try using size 1 hooks and pilchard fillet lighter sinker or if you can catch yellowtail somewhere use them as fillets or small cubes or pilly cubes
Pilchard fillet in surf won’t stay on the hook
@@dragginmedown salted will and depends on how rough the surf is
@@tiller_gorilla7220 thanks,really appreciate it
@dragginmedown I've seen Roger use pilchards many times, what do u recommend tho
Hey Roger. Who is the person behind the camera?
what does it mean if other fish follow a hooked fish into shore?
are the following fish predators?
It was the same species. I'm not sure why they do it, it happens quite often
@@RogerOsborneFishing they're probably saying their last goodbyes....😥
Love it keep em coming!
You got it!
Hi rogers , i just want to ask maikuro surf 9 ft is good for beach fishing?. Because i just have the small car to store my rod during the trip fishing . Haha
Yes it would be good as a light surf rod. I have a 10ft one.
Yes same . I have buy the one that u suggest for the light beach gear 10ft . Just i wish to buy 1 more for my partner .Just saw in marketplace someone wanting to sell 9ft surf rd maikuro2 with the cheap price . Is it suitable for the beach fishing? As sometime there are wind and big wave , i guess 9ft not suit for beach . What do u think rogers?
Roger is that your wife on the Camera mate
No, a good friend
@RogerOsborneFishing
He does a good job mate 👍🏾
this is not good hooking the fish and hurting it then leaving it to the open ocean if your gonna catch it eat it
Throwing more plastic into the ocean is a terrible idea, maybe stick to worms, pilchards and prawns?
..she says, while typing off a device that was made from brutally mined materials, destroying the earth and knocking off kids.
Here’s a better idea karen, stop fishing altogether, stop wearing clothes, stop buying food or any item from the supermarket. Save the planet! 🌱
I find your videos immensely educational and would love more. I think I suggested doing a video on lures/ plastics on a previous video, so I'm glad you've put this together. Im curious to know if putting a scent on them would increase our chances of catching.
