Robert Eggers is one of my favorite modern directors! Can NOT wait for this 🤙
Same here. All of his films have been impactful
@ahmorgan Definitely! The Witch is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. The Northman and The Lighthouse are works of art. I'm pumped
@lighthousefilms5530 I loved The Witch and The Lighthouse! They were so atmospheric and haunting.
I hope he knocks it out of the park.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock I have full confidence
I can’t wait for this movie. The original movie is like watching history on the screen. The cast is absolutely loaded with talent
The cast is absolutely first rate.
Finally a decent vampire movie!
The Invitation was a decent movie but I hated the CGI Vampires. The CGI fangs just don't work.
At this point I'd settle for half decent lol
Agreed. I wasn't all that into Last Voyage of the Demeter but this looks much more my speed.
@@volbound1700 I wish they would have marketed the film differently. It's a different experience going into that movie cold.
Maybe you should watch it first.
My Top Ten Movies of 2024 list will not be final until I see “Nosferatu” in December. I have a feeling that “Nosferatu” will shake my list up considerably.
Same. I love doing Top 10 lists but I'll be saving my video until after I've feasted on this movie.
Looks really good, can't wait! Love that we're getting a gothic horror for Christmas.
Perfect Christmas present for horror enthusiasts.
Man this is gonna be awesome
I love the idea of a proper horror film dropping our laps right during the holiday season.
Looks incredible!!!!!! Christmas Eve showing for me.
I might have to skip some family bonding for this sucker.
Love Robert Eggers and I can't wait for this film!!
Eggers has serious chops. Hopefully this movie turns out to be a nice juicy hit for him.
" [Wicked] the movie equivalent of testicular cancer" - James Hancock
😂
Not my most eloquent criticism but some movies just hold zero interest for me.
Nice! Can't wait.
Definitely one of my most anticipated movies of the year.
Robert Eggers, by FAR my favorite director working right now
I just the original like 5 minutes ago after I watched the trailer for the remake, I honestly cant wait for the new one.
I have a feeling that Eggers is a colossal fan of the original film and will be going all out to do justice to Murnau's classic.
@geekinwithJamesHancock I need to check out Eggers' other work as well, but from what I hear, he's got a nack for Gothic horror. I just hope the count looks terrifying. With Bill Skarsguard taking up the mantel, I could see this being a very good rendition.
Werner Herzog's remake has one of my all time favorite scenes... the part where Lucy wanders through the town as everyone has gone mad ... the family at the long dining table eating and drinking as if there's nothing wrong... surrounded by rats. Also, the final scene... LOVED
First impression upon seeing the trailer before The Bikeriders: felts more reminiscent of Coppola's Dracula than anything in Murnau. And I am curious -- with the caveat that Murnau made a masterpiece that no one, not even Herzog, will ever surpass...
Tough to surpass one of the most beloved movies ever made, but I feel like every 50 years or so, it is inevitable that someone will try.
Very much looking forward to this. The original is stunning and Kinksi's take is terrific. Eggers should be able to do justice to the source material. We could certainly use a good, classic horror movie. Oh, and Shadow of the Vampire is an absolute must see for Nosferatu lovers! One of my faves.
I haven't watched Shadow of the Vampire since it came out but I'll definitely revisit before seeing this fresh interpretation.
I've always l oved Willem Dafoe....and I especially loved him "the mermaid" .So I'm always in for some Billy Defoe...
At this point he's a living legend with decades of great work under his belt going all the way back to the Streets of Fire days.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock oh yeah. I remember seeing streets of fire in the theatre
Im super intrigued by this movie I really love Eggers movies for the most part or at least can appreciate the talent he puts on the screen even if im not 100% on the ride he wants me to take. There’s another horror movie coming out im super excited for too called Longlegs it comes out July 12th I hope you have it on your radar James because it looks great.
I've my got tickets to Longlegs and I'm fired up to see what it is all about.
You're the first reaction post I watched before catching teaser. I had small reservations only cause I was worried with approach they had in mind. But definitely seeing no doubt about it. U rock always Sir🙏🏽
You rock as well! Fired up to discuss the flick with my fellow horror enthusiasts once we all have a chance to sink our teeth into it.
Hey James forgive the plug but this reminded me of your 'Top 10 Vampire Movies' live video from ten months ago where Nosferatu and dozens of other flicks get discussed. I found it insightful for casual vampire enthusiasts & beyond.
Plug away! I loved doing that video. I'm already gearing up to do a double feature video on the two earlier versions of this movie.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock I'll look forward to that!
Man , I am hoping this is as great as it looks!
Herzog's Nosferatu doesnt get enough love, it expands upon everything in the original and also Klaus effin Kinski.
I'm all in
Totally
Definitely some Faust moments in the trailer so I think it will quote Murnau plenty of times. But Herzog's Nosferatu, Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, and even Shadow of the Vampire will I think also be referenced. Really looking forward to this.
Me watching any Eggers trailer: hell yeah🤘🏻
I thought Shadow of a Vampire was a lot of fun, and a good side piece to go with the other versions of Nosferatu
100% and Willem seemed to have so much damn fun with the role. He just leaned into it.
Damn Dafoe is in everything right now
This looks next level! Can’t wait!
Loved all the references to early expresionist cinema in the trailer. Cannot wait for this film.
GIVE ME THIS NOW
My feelings exactly.
Looks great.
Man I'm so down for this
Hey James!
Hello there!
Can't wait to see this.
Nothing like a good gothic vampire film.
Not showing Count Orlok in full was a good choice to make.
Do Shadow of the Vampire also! There is an actor that is in both films. 🧛♂️
I haven't seen it since it first released but I'm looking forward to revisiting it. Might have to do a video on every incarnation of Nosferatu from 1922 to the present day.
Fun history: Shadow of the Vampire that fictional account on the making of the original 1922 film, also featured Dafoe.
What is your favorite style of vampire, Mr. Hancock? I think Bill Skarsgard is going to be a fantastic Count Orlok
My favorite vampires tend to be lovely ladies luring men to their doom but I'm a big fan of Skarsgard as well.
Interesting💚🇬🇧🌱
Fingers crossed!
This looks like a film Johnny Depp would've starred in about 20 years ago
“Norsefurado” 😂😂😂
Finally, something that may be worthy.
In Eggers and Aster we trust.
That's some high praise for Wicked. Lmao.
I'm something of a vampire hunter myself lol
I suspect Skarsgard's version of Count Orlock eats vampire hunters for breakfast.
Yes, Don’t forget about Shadow of a Vampire, about the making of Nosferatu… with Willem Dafoe as Max Schrek
@GeekinWithJamesHancock I have already tracked and hunted down the original silent era Nosferatu which is currently on Tubi and the Werner Herzog version which is on Peacock so I will definitely be checking those out when I finally arrive home from vacation in Florida on Tuesday July 2nd with the fam.
Loved nosferatu in SpongeBob can’t wait for this movie 👍
Lol, I had no idea they enjoyed a crossover but I'll be sure to hunt it down.
What kinda headphones you using james they look comfortable?
They are ten years old, and falling to pieces but I believe the brand is monster and they are indeed comfortable.
It's a very difficult material to even touch but I believe Eggers has it, be prepared for some surprises though, 1st is Orlok has hair and he is a not completely bald.
I don't know if its the same over in the colonies but, gothic horror at Christmas is very traditional in UK, there are usually ghost films and radio plays on at Christmas eve. I'm very excited to see this movie, glad the trailer doesn't reveal much of the Count.
Will you be reviewing Nosferatu in Venice, the sequel to the remake?
I had no idea it existed but now that it is on my radar, I might not be able to resist my morbid curiosity.
3:13 CASTELUL CORVINILOR english: Corvins' Castle (Romania)
Robert Eggers is not really one of my favorite modern directors albeit I have only seen his horror film Gretel and Hansel which I wasn’t a huge fan of but, I believe he did some others like The Witch for instance which, I haven’t seen but maybe I should as this looks pretty fantastic, I love me a good tense, dark and atmospheric Vampire flick and I must say, this looks absolutely fantastic.
With Bill Skarsgard instantly grabbing my interest knowing he’s playing the titular Nosferatu after being Pennywise in IT which I really enjoyed well, chapter one more so than chapter two, I can’t wait to see what he does with the titular Count Orlok aka Nosferatu come December 25th
Judging by the trailer, Nosferatu seems quite a bit derivative. The first thing that comes to mind, while watching it, is the masterpiece Dracula (1992) by Francis Ford Coppola.
That’s because Nosferatu was literally derived from Dracula lol
Well Coppola's Dracula paid homage to Murnau's original many times over and it rapidly became one of my favorite vampire movies. Fingers crossed, Eggers' film delivers as well.
Shadows was a sick film I was wild for that movie it twisted my marijuana addled mind😂
I’m not looking forward to our post-November elections country, but I am looking forward to seeing this film in December.
Dang I’m actually looking forward to wicked lol
Who needs this sh.t?
Excuse me, Gretel and Hansel wasn’t a Robert Eggers movie like I thought which goes to show how boring and dreadfully dull I thought that movie was, I haven’t seen any of Robert Eggers films which maybe I should remedy that between now and when Nosferatu drops in theaters
Do so. His first, The VVitch is so far his best but The Lighthouse and The Northman are both very good and very different. Hope you enjoy all of his films.
