Skarsgård told Esquire that the titular role “took its toll” on him. “It was like conjuring pure evil,” the actor said. “It took a while for me to shake off the demon that had been conjured inside of me. It's playing with a sexual fetish about the power of the monster and what that appeal has to you.2
I have a feeling, you won't see Nosferatu until maybe the last 20 min of the film if he's smart. Remember Jaws, not clearly seeing the Shark, just bits and pieces until the final reveal
While true, Jaws had actual technical issues with the shark which limited the amount of screentime for it. But honestly I'd love to be surprised. Can't wait to see what he looks like!!
Agreed, that would be such a cool reveal. Like it shows in the trailer, I'm kinda hoping he'll stay in the shadows or as a silhouette for most of the film, and then towards the end his gruesome face is revealed as a shock tactic. I bet Eggers made Nosferatu look pretty gnarly in this version 😬
I'm with you guys on how amazing and full-on gothic the whole setting looks! It's so stylistic and eerie. It's too soon to tell, but I wonder if this will be the darkest, most vicious vampire film to be released in a long time (well, at least since 30 Days of Night 😅)
@@Keizi I guess I'm most excited about how dreary and menacing this story is shaping out to be. I haven't read Dracula or seen the original Nosferatu. And I've never really been interested in vampires in particular. But this film has me hyped. In old folklore, vampires were often portrayed as unspeakably evil, grotesque, soulless beings of the night. Their very existence was an outrageous insult to humanity and religion, and they struck blood-freezing, maniacal horror in the minds of the people they terrorized. I feel like Eggers might be trying to take us back to this kind of traditional vampire, and I'm here for it! What about you guys? What are you most excited for?
@@dareka54 honestly as an eggers fan I’m really interested to see just how unsettling he’s going to make this film. His films have such a distinct feel when it comes to the horror and I’m really looking forward to seeing him apply that to a vampire film. And also Bill Skarsgard was a huge surprise as penny wise so I can’t see what he does as Nosferatu!
I am really looking forward to this. I hope they don't reveal the design of the count before release, I have never been encouraged to pay for a cinema ticket on the strength of a character design reveal, on the other hand I have been deterred from buying a ticket because of an early reveal.
It was like watching a 1920s movie but in 2024. Everything from the same old 1920s movie font used throughout the teaser...the style of cinematography feels like it belongs to another time but still has the modern sensibilities.Less is definitely more. And this trailer did a fantastic job at that. You keep expecting to see a glimpse of the face of Count Orlok...but all you get are shadows...dark outlines... silhouettes...it's what the 1922 original was famous for. I'm glad they are sticking to that tone. The Original was considered to be completely evil and scary for its time..Of course if you compare it with modern horror classics...it wouldn't be a fair comparison. I'm curious and excited to see how they have adapted the original for modern audiences, what new looks, ideas and concepts they may have taken liberties with. There was a particular shot of the dark clawed hand stretching over the city.. that's an updated shot from the original..so can certainly expect more reinventions which will definitely scare the lights out of audiences. I remember reading an interview with the director about this film...And he said he was into the occult..and he also said bill skarsgard was also into the occult..but on a whole another level... apparently he had to purge and cleanse himself of all the evil from his body after shooting this...and I can certainly feel the evil from the trailer...I have never seen a proper vampire movie in theatre...one based on the original story...so will definitely be catching this in cinemas...Something tells me..this might be on the same level of fear the exorcist evoked in theatres when it was released..😂..
@@LightAvengerS171 That would be amazing. This has huge potential for future horror film or even monster movies in general. Those classics are almost the fabric of cinema and it would be amazing to witness a resurgence of it. This truly looks haunting, mythic while also being fantastical in its own way. I really can't wait for this!! What's your favorite Vampire movie? 🤔

BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER INCOMING
This was clearly made for the happy holidays 😂
Couldn't agree more about Peele and Eggers being the top Dawgs in modern horror.
ABSOLUTELY. TWO KINGS!!

I agree. I'm bought in already so you DON'T HAVE TO SHOW ME ANYMORE!! I am there day one!! Do youhave a favorite vampire or robert eggers movie? 🤔
Its going to be a very interesting Christmas for sure.😂😂
Happy holidays I guess 😂
