Well, Nosferatu was originally based on the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker 1897. They couldn't use the same name so they changed it to Nosferatu. This is indeed Dracula just In different context.

@theautisticguitarist7560 well tbf the story of Amleth predates Shakespeare by about 350 yrs and was reworked by him to create Hamlet

There being a little Dracula in a Nosferatu movie is nothing new, the original was basically an off-brand Dracula because the studio didn't have the rights to adapt the book.

When Willem Dafoe was like "who's coming my child" he sounded so much like Mark Hamill that I genuinely thought we were gonna have Willem Dafoe and Mark Hamill in the same movie.

KEEP THESE UP!! When I saw the trailer yesterday, I immediately thought "I wonder what Tiffany thinks."
Delightful reaction - there are actually 2 nice reactions in this video - the first is at 0:20, where Tiffany first realizes that Eggers is making a new movie and it's about Nosferatu - the effect is like "oh wow! somebody brought me a Xmas present!" - and then watching the trailer itself is like when you then open the present and react to what's inside 🙂

So, Tiff likes arctic horror... Has she read Greg Rucka's "Whiteout?" It's more of an arctic thriller, but it has that vibe, and the art is gorgeous. Oni Press put it out decades ago, and there are pages in there that still haunt my memory.

This was great! I'm so exited for this movie and it was a lot of fun watching Tiffany geek out over 2 minutes of creepy imagery, haha. THAT MAN ATE THAT BIRD! Finally, a Christmas movie we can all get behind.

Nosferatu was based on Bram Stoker's Drucula, the 1800s book, not the 90s movie. (Though all are the same.) Gary Oldman in the 90s did such an amazing version, though.
I want this type of vampire movie but not the same story. Yes, Bram's is the highest teir version. (Imo ofc) However, I think you can still set the tone and build into something more.

Fact: Willem Dafoe did play max schreck in the documentary movie of Nosferatu (1922) called "shadow of the vampire ".

But I recommend all people who have not seen the original Nosferatu film from 1922 and the 1979 version films, see those films before they see this new version.
So that they can understand this Vampyr film is the true inspirer original story of Bram Stoker's original Dracula story.
Tiff seemed a bit TOO excited for a second. Like a heavy breathing fujoshi with unlimited pins and paper levels of hype.
I love old school horror movies so seeing a modern version of that is exciting.
