I like the new Mackie Thump 12A BUT I am having a little problem with the power consumption. Please explain how in the older TH -12A (1000 watts peak 300W RMS) power consumption was 350W of power in the spec sheet and the New Mackie Thump 12A (1300 watts peak and 650W RMS) can possibly consume only 75W of power. How is this possible ???? Please explain Thanks ....
3dcsheldon I've done some research on amplifier technology and with the speakers other power requirements and a total rms output of 650 watt it means it HAS TO BE A MISPRINT and it is a power consumption of 750 watts
By the way The older Mackie Thump 15 with 1000watts Peak has 500RMS i replaced the standart low quality woofer by an Eminence Delta 15A this woofer is much better than the standart woofer. the standart woofer has a voice coil diameter of 1.9 inch (Thump 15 1000w peak series) i dont know how it looks for the Thump 12. The high frequenz is Perfect but don't buy the Thump series the SRM are much better!
Mackie has dropped a clanger with the new models. I bought a pair of 15a and put them through a Mackie mixer. While they give off an excellent sound ..the vocals are very muddy and damp. They also seem to tire and fade at middle level volume. The 1300 watts just disappear The bst are the same but just a flashier model. The old open type of thump 12s 1000 watts I have are far..far better.
I have bought a pair of mackie thump 15a and I'm so happy with its sound, but I have a question, all the stands that I've try seems to be too unestable. Do I have to buy an special piece for a better fitting, or specific stands?
I use a pole stand made by Ultimate Support; it’s expensive, but it fits my older Thump15 snug as a bug in a rug, and the build quality is superb....I highly recommend as the fit is absolutely perfect!!!!
Thump18S is a great subwoofer for churches/houses of worship. How many you need will depend on the room and how much low end you are wanting in the mix.
I've got a 15BST. Great sound and deep Bass as I play Drum and Bass through it, but when no sound is being played it makes quite a noticable static hissing sound, even with nothing connected. Does anyone else have this?
Awesome, but I do have to say that MOST brands over the last few years have gotten a lot of design "inspiration" from the EV ZLX series cabinets. These still seem great though!

I recently purchased a 18s sub, but the high pass filter doesn't seem to be working. It is allowing way to much low end to my speaker.

Most stands seem to be generally the same. The pole cup will always have a bit of play for the sake of making it easier to remove it from the stand.
That's just mackie, the stand cup is slightly to big. My SRM550s have the same issue. I I just fold up some gaffers tape and stuff it in there.

I also had the same problem....turned out to be a cable....it always stops after muting. Is that the same case?
Use a direct box. That should solve your problem.
