Been running thumps for the past decade tops and subs. Finally just upgraded to the new gen and even got a pair of thump go's for a totally wireless ceremony setup with the Denon Prime go, and can Bluetooth them during cocktail
I had to come back to this video, I have the 15” sub and now I’m starting to move into events that are a bit bigger. I’m going to invest in the 18” sub because I need a bigger sub, of course, there are subs with big power out there but I’m still on a budget and I’m not trying to break my back either. But I like the review and came back to it just to have a bit more clarity. Thanks Barr!!!!!
I have the 15 thump version and i agree its one of the best budget speakers. I think even better or as good as the zlx stuff from ev. Great job mackie.
Bro thanks so much for the in-depth review I already ordered mines after doing some homework but also wanted to check out more things about it and came across this video very helpful and assured me that I’ve made a great choice.
I have a question my mixer has a subchannel. Should I use the subchannel for the subs and the regular outs to the speaker tops? Is that better or worse sound quality. I like the board control for sub power
Just bought the 215XT and 15 sub. While on Bluetooth, I’m connecting my 215 to the sub but I’m not getting any sound out of the sub. What am i connecting wrong? I’m going from my thru on the speaker to the input on the sub and still no sound from my sub.
Thanks for the review I ended up getting the DRM 18s with the DRM tops more expensive but they claim DRM series is Mackie's flagship line doesn't have Bluetooth
Thanks for this review, I’ve been having my 2 Thump 215XT’s and 15” sub woofer since October 2022 and they sound great, I was looking for a video about using the feedback and ducking, I see you have to connect the mic to the speaker directly in order for it to work. I connect my mains into a Mackie 8 Channel board and the sub woofer in to the Aux/send to have full control of them which sounds awesome! Thanks for the video
Will this setup be much louder than 2 x JBL Partybox 1000 ? Im a mobile Dj hosting small events with my Pioneer XDJ-XZ controller. I need louder better speakers and subs. But the Mackie 15" and 18" Thums are to expensice for me.
This setup of two 215’s and one 118 sub will get louder, clearer, and deeper than the two JBLs. You lose out on the portability of course, but depends on what exactly you’re looking for. If you enjoy a quick setup then keep the JBL. If you want to expand and do larger events then look into larger PA speakers like these. I have this setup and it gets absolutely insanely loud with rich bass
Are the mackie thump 15 super loud and crisp? Just wondering how well they would sound with my current 4 sound town 18 inch active subs. I am using 2 proreck 15 inch loudspekers now and they just do not have that crisp sound once the volume is really jacked up
Does anyone else have issues connecting the thumps to an android phone? Bluetooth connects to my laptop, but when I try my phone it cant be found or i get a message i need an app to connect. The thump connect app crashes almost in an instant
just went at a store to hear about the sound quality of the mackie thump series. they dont have the 215Xt. given that i dont used sub, was looking for 15 inch woofer. the music loudness is quite shit. dont know if its because it's pulling its music directly from a laptop but it clips each time the bass or the sound goes louder when its on 3/4 of the volume. ive heard a chinese copy speaker of 400 watt rms and its way better than that mackie 700 watt rms speaker. pffffff.
Highest quality, longest Livability, actively support on to itself, with high support system of changing the game, yeah. Regardless if your speaker don't blow out for a insane night I highly support this speaker then.

Just picked up the sub yesterday. I bought the tops a few months ago. Set up is complete, and everything sounds awesome.
Nice!
I got mine after watching this video in 2023 thank you very much DJ BARR

Sweet, exactly what I was looking before buy it! Thanks man!
Oye se puede vincular 2 thump 215xt
Y escuchar música por vía Bluetooth sin necesidad de cables

Which pole are you using? I’m interested in buying one. Thanks!

I reckon going from your mains to the sub then out to your tops will sound even better
@@nickykeys3423 tried it, and honestly didn’t like the sound.
Oh wait from the mains to the sub then back to the mains?
Oh ok I got it.
@@DJBennyswift mixer subs toops
One question, when you play using a bluetooth source, is the sub also playing or does it work only when you connect to it via a mixer?
Are these battery powered?
No. The Mackie Go is though.
does the tops will automatically cut the lows when you connect the sub?
Excellent Video! Thank you so much for the review!
Hey dude do a video om mackies srm v class 12s interested in your opinion on those
How do they compare to the ld icoa 15/18a speaker system
*215xt vs TS415??*

From what I read online, it seems to be one of the best subs for someone on a budget
They look perfect for monitor use and ceremony use as well.
Thanks DJBarr. Remember that God loves you and wants your love also. Thanks again, - very informative 🙂
Hey thanks!
What moving heads do you use for gigs?
How would the Mackies compare against RCF Evox 12?
I love mackie many years
What. Up bro been a fan for a long time and also I’m a fan of Mackie products I have a pair of the DRM 15 how do those compared to them
Hey Barr I was wondering if you know if you can put casters on the Mackie thump 118S
Does the feedback eliminator also work well with wireless microphones?? I’m seriously thinking of getting a pair of the xt15
Yes it does work well with wireless mic as long it is connected directly to the speaker’s mic channel but when using a mixer it doesn’t work
@DJBarr or @anyone What about the LD A 15a compared to Mackie Thump 215XT
I tried those two models, but the Icoa 15A sounds much better at all frequencies
How does this compare to LD Icoa?
Does anyone else have issues connecting the thumps to an android phone? Bluetooth connects to my laptop, but when I try my phone it cant be found or i get a message i need an app to connect. The thump connect app crashes almost in an instant
Mackie muy buenas bocinas para dj las recomiendo al 100%
How do I hook up 4 of these subs
Was the subwoofer even on cause we didnt hear it ?
What is RMS for 15 XT?
Just purchased these speakers based on this review and they won't connect to bluetooth or the thump connect 2 app... anyone else have this issue?
How is the bass in the 215
the bass awasome,..on the xt model on club selection sounds very impresive...whit mixers sound very goood..
Everyone is going off peak specs rms constant power is about 300watts for these range speakers
Can use other ampifire on it
Bar alto professional just brought out 2500 watt speakers
Yeah…peak power at 1khz
@@dantonliam Is that bad?

Budget? For that price I’d go with the Evolve 50’s
Make a video on your dmx controller that you are using now
👌
Not at 80hz
Yessir
Don’t buy the xt if you want to run a sub!
The bluetooth is useless and every review i have watched is useless for not mentioning this!
I wouldn't call £500 a budget speaker. I don't know what planet you're on if you think that's a budget.
He's speaking to mobile DJ's. Where $500 is a budget speaker.
